1. Remove the two plugs from the endsof the spray bars Open the sprinkler tap and allow the water to flush through the spray bars Close the sprinkler tap and refit the plugs Open the sprinklertap and check for any sprinkler holes that are still blocked Clean out blocked holes using a piece of soft wire Remove the plugs from the spra y barsand flush though asabove e Refit plugs and spray bars Pump Belt Tightness Remove top coverand check belt tightness Tension is corect when there is a maximum of 5mm 0 200in play at center of belt when deflected at its midpoint with a force of 1 6kg 3 50lbs elf adjustment is necessary slacken the 3 bolts on the pump mounting bracket and slide bracket on its slotted holes until correctly adjusted Tighten bolts and refit top cover eCheck hydraulic system for leaks replacing any wom hoses Check all bolts nuts etc for tightness Annually Hydraulic System e Drain the hydraulic system by removing drain plug from front of the hydraulic tank Beware of Scalding from Hot Oil Check Oil Temperature Before Draining e Undo the four fixing bolts A B C and D and remove the top cover from the roller Clean exterior of the transmission pump to prevent the ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system e Unscrew the filter from the transmission pump and dispose ofthe filtersafely Clean and lightly grease the filter body sealing ring face Fit a new filte
2. dla m m LES em DS zd m B Ka Sm E mg m a LJ m a E Mi L2 J 7 m E z E gt m LI Tus ad E an mem _ m a elncrease the engine speed to maximum rpm and operate the direction control fully in both directions approximately ten times eCheck the drums stop rotating when the direction lever retums to the neutral position If they do not then cary out the adjustment again with the engine at full speed Stop engine and fully tighten the locknut Fit the top cover and lower the roller to the ground Test the roller and if necessary cany out the above procedure again Parking Brake Adjustment Brake shoe wearorcable stretch will affect handbrake efficiency To adjust the cable Remove the moulded plastic top of the handbrake leverto reveal a hexagonal adjuster which should be tumed clockwise to take up any slack e Take care not to over adjust the brake asthis may cause a pema nent application of the brake leading to overheating excessive drag on the engine and damage to the brake shoes Grease Points Handbrake Cable Clutch Cable Clutch Cable Grease Nipple The grease nipple is accessed from the top of the rollerat the rear right hand comer of the engine bedplate The grease nipple is at the bottom of the control arm where the cables emerge from the arm and go underthe watertank Rever

4. leave the machine the proceduresin the following section When Parking the Machine should also be camed out When Parking the Roller Tum vibrator off Select a safe area where it will cause least obstruc tion and inconvenience to others Release the direction speed control lever allowing it to retum to the neutral position Ensure machine is stationary on firm ground and apply handbrake Move throttle leverto the idle speed position If parking for more than a few minutes stop the engine Chock the drums if machine is parked on a slope Remove the start key on electric start machines If temperatures are likely to fall below freezing point the watertank should be drained when parking for any considerable length of time a Transportation A Use a Trailer or Tuck when Transporting When loading the roller onto a trailer or truck strong loading ramps a crane or similar lifting device should be used See Technical Data section for roller weights Loading Crane or Similar Lifting Device If using a crane orlifting device the rope chain strap etc should be of sufficient strength to support the roller safely and be free from damage See Technical Data section for roller weights A single lifting point is provided forlifting the complete roller The position of this point will ensure a safe stable lift of the roller in working condition using standard lifting gear Other methods of lifting are not recommende

Always wear goggles or a face mask when grinding or drilling e Always wear the correct goggles or protector when welding or buming Release any pressure in the hydraulic circuit before camying out hydraulic system repairs etc e Always block the wheels before carrying out any repairs elf the machine is suspended or lifted always support the machine on adequate blocks e Always remove the starting handle to stop accidental starting Never work with the engine running unless absolutely necessary Never start the engine unlessthe area is well ventilated e Always exercise extreme caution when welding grinding or buming against fire risk Ensure adequate fire extinguishers are available e Never smoke or leave the engine running when refueling eAlways use genuine Stone spare parts e Always test the machine thoroughly before putting it back to work Observing these points will not make the repair of the machine safe but combined with the skill and knowledge of a trained mechanic will certainly help Daily Checks Clean roller remove any build up of material eCheck operation of all controls and rectify any faults before using the machine eCheck engine oil level and top up as required e Refuel When refueling make sure the engine is cold and the machine isin a well ventilated area with the engine stopped Use clean fuel and container Beware of Naked Hames Grinding Sparks etc When Refueling Check leve
