3. piston seat the small end and big end of the connecting rod in order to obtain a correct lubrication at the first ignition Cover the opening in the crankcase with a rag Position the piston mark facing to the exhaust valve side Install the second piston pin and bring attention that it is well tightened inside its seat Place the new cylinder base gasket supplied with the Athena kit and the dowel pins on the carter and the o ring for the coolant passage Lubricate the cylinder liner piston and piston rings with engine oil and install the cylinder while compressing the piston rings N B Do not rotate the cylinder since this may cause the piston ring to break Install the cam chain guide by aligning its tabs with the cylinder grooves Install the dowel pins and the new cylinder head gasket supplied in Athena kit Install the cylinder head with its washers lubricate the thread and the bolt base with antifriction grease and tighten them to the specific torque 40 Nem 4 0 kgfem following a criss cross pattern in two or three steps Install and tighten the cylinder head mounting bolts M6 on the base and head gasket side to the specific torque 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Lubricate with clean oil the cam crankshaft seat Be careful that all the other components are at their right position Bring the piston to the TDC phase rotating the crankshaft anticlockwise for some turns Check that the mark TDC on the rotor is aligned with the reference on the c

RTO DI COMPRESSIONE ISTRUZIONI DI MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO YAMAHA WR 250 X Athena vi ringrazia per la preferenza accordatale rimane comunque sempre a disposizione per rispondere alle vostre esigenze Buon lavoro OPERAZIONI PRELIMINARI E SMONTAGGIO Lavare accuratamente il veicolo e il motore Smontare in sequenza sella plastiche convogliatori e fianchetti serbatoio silenziatore scarico e collettore scarico Dopo avere svuotato il liquido di raffreddamento togliere il tubo dell acqua della testata il tubo dell acqua davanti al cilindro il radiatore il tubo di sfiato del coperchio valvole la candela ed il corpo farfallato per facilitare l operazione di instal lazione del kit Athena consigliabile togliere il motore dal telaio Togliere il coperchio valvole ed i tappi sul lato sinistro del motore fig A portare il pistone al punto morto superiore PMS ruotando l albero motore in senso antiorario con una chiave sino ad allineare il riferimento tra volano e carter accensione Accertarsi quindi che la punzonatura sull albero a camme di scarico e la punzonatura sull albero a camme di aspirazione siano allineate alla superficie della testata cilindro fig C Svitare il motorino di avviamento e rimuoverlo Svitare le viti del tendicatena ed estrarlo Allentare le viti e rimuovere i cappelli dell albero a camme Per evitare di deformare i supporti allentare i bulloni di circa un quarto di giro alla volta seguendo uno schema
6. d the punching on the inlet cam shaft are well aligned on the surface of the cylinder head picture C Unscrew the screw of the belt stretcher and take off the chain adjuster Unscrew the screws and remove the camshaft caps and the fasteners Remove the exhaust camshaft and the inlet camshaft BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP ANY FOREIGN BODIES INTO THE CRANKCASE Remove the cylinder head the gasket and the dowel pins slip the cylinder off and cover the crankcase opening to prevent impuri ties from falling into Remove the base gasket and the piston Check the following components Cylinder head clean the combustion chamber from possible encrustations Connecting rod check the piston pin clearance keeping to the maintenance manual Inlet exhaust valves check the tightness and the clearance keeping to the maintenance manual The health of your engine is guaranteed by the good conditions of these elements ASSEMBLING INSTRUCTIONS Clean carefully all the original components you are re placing and all the new components of the Athena cylinder kit Be sure that there are no gasket residua or bruises left inside the various cylinder ports or on the piston Load the chain tensioner following the assembly instructions Install the piston rings and avoid piston damage during installation Install the top ring with its marking facing up Assembly the piston rings as indicated in picture E and insert one of the two piston pins Lubricate the piston pin and its

8. incrociato Rimuovere tutti e due gli alberi a camme facendo attenzione che i corpi estranei non cadano all interno del carter motore Rimuovere la testata cilindro la guarnizione e le spine di centraggio sfilare il cilindro e coprire l imbocco del carter per evitare che vi entrino impurit Togliere la guarnizione di base ed il pistone Verificare i seguenti componenti Testata cilindro pulire il cielo della testata da possibili incrostazioni Biella verificare il gioco spinotto attenendosi al manuale uso e manutenzione del veicolo Valvole aspirazione scarico verificare la tenuta attenendosi al manuale d uso e manutenzione del veicolo L affidabilit del motore viene garantita anche dalle buone condizioni di questi componenti MONTAGGIO GRUPPO TERMICO Pulire accuratamente i componenti originali che si andranno a riutilizzare e tutti i nuovi componenti del gruppo termico Athena facendo particolare attenzione che non vi siano impurit all interno dei vari canali del cilindro o nel pistone Pre caricare il tendicatena seguendo le istruzioni riportate sul manuale d uso e manutenzione Installare le fasce elastiche evitando di danneggiare il pistone facendo attenzione che l anello superiore abbia il contrassegno rivolto verso l alto Posizionare quindi le fasce elastiche come indicato in figura E ed inserire uno dei due anellini ferma spinotto dalla parte pi comoda Lubrificare con dell olio motore lo spinotto e la rispettiva sede nel p
9. istone il piede e l occhio di biella in modo da garantire una buona lubrificazione al primo avviamento Coprire l apertura del carter con uno straccio e installare il pistone posizionandolo con il contrassegno della freccia rivolto verso lo scarico Installare il secondo anellino ferma spinotto accertandosi che sia ben collocato all interno della sua sede Posizionare la nuova guarnizione base cilindro fornita nel kit Athena le spine di centraggio sul carter e l o ring per il passaggio del liquido refrigerante Lubrificare la canna cilindro il pistone e le fasce elastiche con olio motore pulito ed installare il cilindro comprimen do le fasce elastiche con molta attenzione N B Non fare ruotare il cilindro poich ci potrebbe causare la rottura delle fasce elastiche Installare il pattino guida catena posizionandolo all interno delle scanalature presenti nel cilindro Installare le spine di centraggio e la nuova guarnizione testa cilindro fornita nel kit Athena Installare la testata del cilindro con relative rondelle lubrificare il filetto e la base di appoggio dei bulloni con del grasso anti frizione e stringere seguendo uno schema incrociato in due o tre fasi alla coppia di 40 Nem 4 0 kgfem Stringere le viti M6 a lato della testata e alla base del cilindro alla coppia di 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Lubrificare con dell olio pulito le sedi degli alberi a camme accertandosi che tutti i componenti quali bicchierini pastiglie registro valv

13. ola ecc siano al proprio posto Portare il pistone al punto morto superiore PMS controllando che il segno di riferimento posto sul volano sia allineato con quello sul carter fig A Ora possibile installare gli alberi a camme facendo attenzione come per la fase di smontaggio ad allineare le due punzonature con la superficie della testata fig C Lubrificare con del grasso anti frizione il filetto e la base di appoggio dei bulloni per il fissaggio degli alberi a camme procedere al serraggio con schema incrociato in maniera uniforme per evitare danni alla testata e ai suoi componenti con coppia di 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Dopo il serraggio controllare il gioco della valvola seguendo le indicazioni e i valori riportati sul manuale d uso e manutenzione E ora possibile inserire il tendi catena precedentemente pre caricato all interno del cilindro con l apposita guarnizione fornita nel kit Athena Serrare i bulloni alla coppia di Fig D 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Dopo aver accertato il corretto montaggio e fissaggio delle parti dal lato interno passaggio catena apportare una leggera pressione verso il pattino tendicatena lato del tenditore cosi facendo in automatico porteremo la catena alla sua tensione ideale Ruotare l albero motore in senso antiorario per alcuni giri controllare poi che il riferimento del PMS posto sul volano sia allineato con il contrassegno del coperchio carter accensione fig B e che la punzonatura di riferimento sulle ru
14. ote dentate degli alberi a camme sia alli neata con la superficie della testa cilindro fig Controllare se la guarnizione del coperchio valvole del cilindro danneggiata o deteriorata e sostituirla con una nuova se necessario Montare il coperchio valvole e stringere i bulloni alla coppia di 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Installare i tappi d ispezione fasatura sul carter accensione la candela il cappuccio della candela ed il tubo di sfiato del coperchio valvole Montare il motorino di avviamento e serrare alla coppia di 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Installare il corpo farfallato e fissare la relativa fascetta Collegare i vari connettori dell impianto elettrico Montare quanto segue il tubo sfiato olio il collettore di scarico con la nuova guarnizione la marmitta le protezioni del motore i convogliatori del radiatore il radiatore e i manicotti del circuito del liquido di raffreddamento Riempire il circuito di raffreddamento con liquido fino al collo del foro di riempimento Riempire il carter motore con folio SAE 20 W 40 fino al contrassegno del livello superiore capacit 1 4 litri cambio olio e filtro capacit 1 3 litri solo cambio olio Pulire e se necessario sostituire il filtro aria Installare il serbatoio la sella e le coperture laterali Per ottimizzare le performance del kit Athena 290 cc montare la centralina aggiuntiva seguendo attentamente le istruzioni RODAGGIO USO E MANUTENZIONE Per il rodaggio e la manutenzione attenersi scrupolosa
15. r une bonne lubrification au premier part Couvrir louverture du carter moteur avec un chiffon et installer le piston en positionnant la fl che vers le pot d chappement Ins rer le second fermoir qui doit tre bien dispos dans son logement Reposer le nouveau joint d embase fourni dans le kit Athena et les goujons sur le carter moteur et le joint torique pour le passage du liquide de refroidissement Graisser la canne du cylindre le piston e les segments avec de l huile moteur et positionner le cylindre tout en compressant les segments de piston N B Ne pas faire tourner le cylindre car cela risquerait de casser les segments de piston Poser la guide chaine de distribution en alignant ses languettes sur les gorges du cylindre Installer les fermoirs et reposer le nouveau joint culasse fourni dans le kit Athena Installer la culasse du cylindre avec ses rondelles graisser le filet et la base d appui des boulons avec de la graisse antifriction et serrer les boulons en zigzag en 2 ou 3 passes au couple sp cifi 40 Nem 4 0 kgfem Serrer les crous M6 de montage de la culasse au couple sp cifi 10 Nem 1 0 kgfem Graisser avec de l huile propre les logement des arbres cames en contr lant que tous les composants soient dans ses places Positionner le piston sur le PMS en contr lant que la r f rence T sur le rotor soit align e aux crans sur le trou d inspection fig A S assurer que le poin onnage sur l arbre
