Before reinstalling the tine assembly inspect the tine shaft for rust rough spots or burrs Lightly file or sand as needed Apply a thin coat of grease to the shaft 4 Install each tine assembly so that the cutting sharp edge of the tines will enter the soil first when the tiller moves forward Secure the tine assembly to the tine shaft using the screw and locknut SECTION 6 MAINTENANCE amp ADJUSTMENTS Off Season Storage If the tiller will not be used for a period longer than 30 days the following steps should be taken to prepare the tiller for storage 1 Clean the exterior of the engine and the entire tiller thoroughly Lubricate the tiller as described in the lubrication instructions 2 The use of pressure washers is not recommended for cleaning your tiller They may cause damage to electric components spindles pulleys bearings or the engine The use of pressure washers will result in shortened life and reduce serviceability 3 Refer to the engine manual for correct engine storage instructions 4 Wipe tines with oiled rag to prevent rust Store tiller in a clean dry area Do not store next to corrosive materials such as fertilizer NOTE When storing any type of power equipment in an unventilated area or metal storage shed care should be taken to rustproof the equipment Using a light oil or silicone coat the equipment and especially any springs bearings and cables Service Belt Replacement

18. provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a warranty station 7 MTD Consumer Group Inc is liable for damages to other engine or equipment components proximately caused by a failure under warranty of any warranted part 8 Throughout the off road engine and equipment warranty period stated above MTD Consumer Group Inc will maintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient to meet the expected demand for such parts 9 Any replacement part may be used in the performance of any warranty maintenance or repairs and must be provided without charge to the owner Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations of MTD Consumer Group Inc 10 Add on or modified parts that are not exempted by the Air Resources Board may not be used The use of any non exempted add on or modified parts by the ultimate purchaser will be grounds for disallowing a warranty claim MTD Consumer Group Inc will not be liable to warrant failures of warranted parts caused by the use of a non exempted add on or modified part WARRANTED PARTS The repair or replacement of any warranted part otherwise eligible for warranty coverage may be excluded from such warranty coverage if MTD Consumer Group Inc demonstrates that the outdoor equipment has been abused neglected or improperly maintained and that such abuse neglect or improper maintenance was the direct cause of the need for repair or replacement of the part That notwithstanding any adjustment of a component that has
