COOLTAP OZONE Program Every Tuesday at 9 00 a m Eastern Standard Time the Contractor shall go to the sampling site and replace the filters of the air collector of the OZONE program in accordance with the procedures described in the observer document The Sample History form must also be completed every day E Environnement Environment Canada Canada Within 48 hours of replacement the filters must be sent to the analytical laboratory in Toronto R amp P Program The Contractor shall verify the system s integrated clock once a day Every nine 9 days the Contractor shall replace the sampling cartridge and send it to the analytical laboratory in Toronto 4 3 Quality control Quality control of the work and compliance with standards will be carried out on site twice a year by the Department s regional inspector The Contractor must be available at the time of these visits to assist the inspector An additional quality control is carried out at the time of each receipt of samples at the analytical laboratory In cases where quality controls uncover serious shortcomings the Project Authority can require that the observers take additional training at the Contractor s expense The receipt of laboratory reports that show no improvement in the quality of service is grounds for termination of the contract by the Department DEPARTMENTAL AND CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES 5 1 Departmental responsibilities Provide the sit

21. s availability the Contractor and or the Contractor s personnel shall prepare and ship the samples to the analytical laboratory in Toronto The sample packaging procedures are described in the operator s manual Pre addressed containers are provided by the Department The Contractor is also responsible for picking up supplies and transporting them to the station e Where required the Contractor shall conduct routine site maintenance such as weekly cleaning of the building clearing snow off the stairs deck and access road not the instrument compound and grass cutting at the sampling site e During visits by the Department s regional inspector the Contractor and or the Contractor s personnel shall provide the inspector assistance as required These visits are made twice a year and can be for periods of several days e At the inspector s request the Contractor may be required to perform minor repairs or servicing e g change a fuse SNOW Program Daily at 8 00 a m Eastern Standard Time the Contractor and or the Contractor s personnel shall go to the site and measure the amount of precipitation that has fallen since the previous day using the instruments provided by the Department standard rain gauge and snow gauge The Contractor must also follow the procedures described in the program s information bulletin The Contractor shall enter the data on the necessary form and transmit them by telephone ONTAP or the internet
