P N F152 R v B 12 2013 Innovative Hearth Products 1508 Elm Hill Pike Suite 108 Nashville TN 372102. 7 INNOVATIVE HEARTH PRODUCTS P N F152 HEARTH PRODUCTS KITS AND ACCESSORIES SAFETY METAL STRIP Rev B 12 2013 SAFETY METAL STRIP INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS KIT CONTENTS qea Safety Strip ea Instruction sheet GENERAL INFORMATION The floor between the fireplace frame and the hearth extension must be protected with the supplied safety metal strip which is found within the fireplace packaging If you encounter any problems need clarification of these instructions or are not qualified to properly install this kit contact you local distribu tor or dealer Read this instruction sheet in its entirety before beginning the installation ALL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUAL PROVIDED WITH THE APPLIANCE APPLY TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS TURN OFF THE FIREPLACE AND ALLOW IT TO COMPLETELY COOL BEFORE PROCEEDING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Step 1 Position the safety metal strip one half under the front of the fireplace and the other half must exceed on the floor over which the hearth extension will be built see Figure 1 The safety metal strip must cover the total width of the fireplace Step 2 Apply the non combustible finish material as per specific fireplace installation manual instructions Fireplace The crack between the fireplace and the hearth extension must be sealed with a non combustible material such as sand cement grout S 2 Safety Metal Strip
