SyrVet Livestock Prod Instruction Manual SyrVet Inc e Waukee IA U S A e Toll Free 800 727 5203 customerservice syrvet com www syrvet com SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS e This prod is FOR USE ON APPROPRIATE LIVESTOCK ONLY e This prod is not intended to be used by children e Never use the prod on humans e KEEP PROD AWAY FROM CHILDREN e The prod produces a high voltage pulse The electrodes should never be touched when the unit is on Avoid touching the electrodes when batteries are installed in the unit Purpose The SyrVet Livestock Prod is an electronic device designed to help move stubborn livestock Function The SyrVet Livestock Prod contains a battery powered electronic circuit which produces a high voltage pulse The pulse is released by touching the animal with the two electrodes Animal Protection Before using refer to and follow the Animal Protection and Slaughtering Policies and Guidelines that pertain to your location Installing Changing the Batteries Unscrew the locking ring to separate the battery compartment from the motor handle assembly Remove the compartment door by turning it counter clockwise Install six new size C batteries as indicated by the diagrams on the inside of the battery compartment Replace compartment door and turn it clockwise to lock into place Replace locking ring and twist to reassemble motor handle to battery compartment Testing the Prod 1 Install batteries as instructed

8. ry prod on a regular basis removing batteries prior to cleaning and drying Store prod in a dry location e KEEP PROD DRY If prod gets wet DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY and dry out to avoid corrosion and or feedback Do not use until prod is COMPLETELY dry e Do not use prod near flammable liquids or dust e Place the safety clip under the trigger button whenever prod is not in use e Prod is intended for use on ground levels only Maintenance amp Storage General Upkeep Storage of the SyrVet Livestock Prod Follow these maintenance guidelines after each use 1 Completely CLEAN AND DRY the prod by detaching the shaft from handle and gently wiping the electrical connections on both the shaft and the handle with a dry cloth Wipe the handle with a dry cloth making sure to clean around the trigger button 2 Examine the two electrode prongs at the shaft tip for any excessive wear or damage Replace old shaft with a new one as necessary or if any signs of damage is visible 3 When storing separate shaft from handle to allow for complete drying in areas that can t be accessed Only reassemble prod prior to use and only when it is thoroughly dry 4 When not in use for long periods of time remove batteries from the handle s battery compartment 5 Store prod away from and out of reach of children Periodic Maintenance Perform the following steps weekly or whenever prod has been exposed to moisture 6 Disassemble prod Clean and
