7. llowing the steps listed in Product maintenance and Bulb Replacement e Place the O ring on the inlet outlet and screw the two screws provided on the water inlet outlet tightly e Connect tubing from the pump to the inlet of the unit and then another tube from the outlet to the pond another filtration unit or a waterfall figure 1 Be sure the tubing is connected tightly to avoid leaks Clamps can be used to ensure a water tight fit PRODUCT MAINTENANCE AND BULB REPLACEMENT Cleaning e First Unplug unit from power supply before opening Remove both the inlet and outlet by unscrewing them from the unit Drain all the water from inside the unit e Undo the plastic screw between ballast and unit then CAREFULLY remove the protective casing figure 2 e Gently pull to remove the glass quartz tube figure 3 Clean it with a damp sponge with water only Do Not use any cleaners or detergents as they could damage the unit Dry with a clean dry cloth and gently replace back into the protective casing e Reassemble the unit and attach the inlet and outlet to return the unit to it s proper function Changing the bulb e Follow above directions for cleaning to remove the UV bulb from the protective casing and quartz tube NOTE There is a protective switch that will automatically turn off the power to UV if the user tries to dismantle the UV bulb while still connected to the power supply When inserting the UV bulb back into the quartz tub
