13. his rotation with the grinding wheel stopped 9 To avoid overloading the motor and so as not to damage the chain remove the minimum quantity of material necessary and do not stay too long on the same tooth 10 For very worn chains adjust the stop 13 using the knob 14 to prevent the wheel from nicking the stop 11 After grinding if the right cutters are shorter tighten the screw 3 accordingly If the right cutters are longer loosen the screw 3 accordingly 12 Rotate the grinding wheel so that the grinding burr is turned toward the outside of the cutters NOTE When the job is finished switch the grinder off by putting the switch in the O position WARNING If the grinder does not switch on when the switch is positioned on 1 disconnect the power supply cable immediately GRINDING CHAINS WITH STRAIGHT CUTTERS 1 With the thickest wheel fitted fix the arm from 90 to 45 as read on the plate 1 2 Depending on the cutter to be ground rotate the chain support by 40 to the right or left as read on the scale 4 3 If the right cutters prove to be longer than the left cutters after grinding make adjustments by slightly turning the screw 3 GRINDING THE DEPTH GAUGES 1 Fit the thickest grinding wheel tilted from 90 to 60 and shape it using the dressing stone as needed Check the profile using the angles of the template 2 Set the chain support 5 at zero degrees according to the plate 4 3 Position the

18. l sound means that the wheel is cracked or broken and must not be used 2 Consult the enclosed table Fig 7 to choose the appropriate grinding wheel 8 for the type of chain to be ground and fit the wheel securely Attach screen 12 using the two screws provided and guard 15 after the lever 16 has been fitted CHECKING THE GRINDING WHEEL 1 With the machine off check the profile of the wheel using the special template Fig 5 and if necessary retouch the wheel using the dressing stone provided Always wear protective eyewear 2 Put the switch in the O position and connect the plug correctly to the electrical outlet 3 Stand beside the wheel and examine it to ensure that it does not oscillate either laterally or transversally Replace the wheel if necessary GRINDING 1 We recommend that you clean the chain before grinding it 2 Place the chain on the guides 11 with the depth gauge 13 on the right 3 Rotate the chain support 5 by 30 35 on the graduated scale 4 according to the type of chain Tighten the flywheel 6 4 Position the cutter in relation to the wheel using the register 9 always starting from the most worn cutter identified using the template 5 Adjust the grinding depth using the screw 10 6 Clamp the chain lightly using the knob 7 7 Put on protective eyewear 8 Grind all the cutters of the same type before turning the chain support 5 by 30 35 from the opposite side Make t
