12. l usage professionnel dentaire s 05 98 082 00 00 Mise en page CEN COMPOSITION Knitted oxidized cellulose gauze pure cotton PROPERTIES It is a white oxidized cellulose gauze which can be cut without fraying After the gauze has been saturated with blood it swells into a red gelatinous mass which aids in the formation of a clot thereby serving as a haemostatic adjunct in the control of haemorrhage When used properly in minimal amounts the gauze is absorbed in the implantation site Its bacteriostatic bactericidal properties inhibit aero bic and anaerobic bacteria cell growth and multiplica tion However this product is not intended as a substitute for systemically administered antibiotics to fight or prevent postoperative infections INDICATIONS Haemostatic adjunct in the control of capillary and small vascular bleeding after tooth extraction CONTRAINDICATIONS Do not use for implantation in bone tissue when irri gation with blood in not sufficient as the acidity of the product causes a decrease in callus formation INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Sterile technique should be observed when removing the product from its packaging Use only as much gauze as is necessary for hae mostasis holding it firmly in place until bleeding stops Absorption depends upon several factors including the amount use degree of saturation with blood and nature of the operative site Furthermore the gauze should preferably be packed
