NFIRMATION Note the positioning of the Piston Rings when installing the Tomei Piston Kit 1 Piston Ring Upper amp Lower Side A Install the ring with the ring mark facing up Ring Mark 2 Oil Ring Side Rail Gap Piston Mark A The Oil Ring Side Rail Stopper must be positioned against the raised stopper part of the Piston as shown on the left Lower Side Rail Stopper Side Rail Upper Side Stopper Oil Ring Stopper Piston Gap Secondary Ring amp Oil Ring lower N Se Oil Ring upper side rail side rail 3 CRANKSHAFT BLIND SCREW INSTALLATION X NX GBA BS SS Se AA N SESS Se NIR SN N t NK NN i a ae SS a SANN NANNU i F The Crankshaft must be thoroughly cleaned prior to installation All signs of unwanted debris and residue must be removed from the Crankshaft and the PT 1 16 blind screws included in the kit Then install the blind screws in the Crankshaft as shown in the illustration above at points numbered 1 4 Use thread lock paste on the screws to prevent it from coming loose If the Blind Screws aren t done up correctly there will be a risk of oil leak and or the Screw coming loose which can cause terminal engine failure The Blind Screws must not protru
10. an lead to possible work hazards WE Use the Fuji Heavy Industries Workshop Service Manual for reference in conjunction with the H Beam connecting rod manual that is supplied with this kit during assembly Mi Additional modifications may be required to correct any areas which will cause interference with this kit E This product was specifically designed for the vehicle application as stated above This is not designed and may not be suitable for other cars engines other than stated in this manual If this product kit is installed on any other vehicles engines it may damage this product and or the engine vehicle that it is fitted to Mi This product is designed to be used for performance use You will need to check all other parts that will be used with the assembly to be sure they are all in excellent condition Failure to do so will risk this product and engine when it is used at high engine speeds and at high power outputs Attention to details and precision assembly is a must for maximum results Mi Check for any signs of oil and fluid leakages before driving the vehicle E Upgrading other performance areas of the car is a must after installing this kit Upgrading and making suitable adjustments to the suspension and brakes will be required to cope with the new power output of this engine WARNING Follow the instructions as mentioned in this manual in regards to the installation process of this kit Refer to the Fuji Heavy Industrie
11. an also use 400 grit sandpaper for certain areas like the bottom of the piston skirts and on sharp edges 3 PISTON RING ADJUSTMENTS amp PREPARATIONS Please adjust and measure the following when you use our piston kit Insert the Piston Ring amp position it in the middle of the cylinder bore by using the head of the Piston or a ring squaring tool Then check the ring gap clearances with a thickness gauge 2 If the Ring Gap is too narrow and not within the required clearance values you ll have to file the edges of the Piston Rings to enlarge the gap until the gap is within 4 the required specifications Thickness Gauge Second Ring 0 18 0 35 N CAUTION Adjust the Ring Gap to meet the specified clearance If the Ring Gap Clearance is not within the specified ring gap clearance values can cause possible damages amp engine failure 4 PARTS ASSEMBLY Follow the assembly instructions as specified on the Fuji Heavy Industries workshop service manual When using the Tomei Conrods refer to the instructions on the Tomei _H Beam connecting rod manual 1 PISTON MARK POSITIONING Pay attention to the position of the Piston Marking prior to assembly TOMEI EJ25 26 Piston notes facing the wrong way the performance will not be the same and you ll risk possible damage to the pistons and the engine Piston mark facing the front side Piston mark facing the rear side 2 PISTON RING CO

14. s workshop service manual for more information about the assembly proceedure Refer to the Tomei _H Beam Connecting Rod Manual when using the Tomei Conrods with the Tomei Crankshaft 1 CYLINDER BORING Boring the cylinder block will be required when using our piston kit As our piston kit will be at least 0 25mm oversize from stock Check that the piston to wall clearance is within the recommended clearance values 0 035 0 045 MEASURING THE PISTONS SKIRT DIAMETER Cylinder Bores inner diameter Measurements are to be taken from the lower side Piston Skirts outer diameter Piston clearance specs of the Piston Trust side 10mm from the base of the Skirt Trust Direction 2 Have the Cylinder block bored to suit A Always use a Dummy Head Torque plate when Direction of you have the Cylinder Block bored Spindle Once Cylinder Boring has been completed use the Cylinder Gauge to verify that the clearance is within NN A APPESA LORIN the required values below the deck surface On approx 10mm the Clearance R0 3 lower side You ll find unwanted course edges at the bottom of the cylinder bore after boring Remove all metal shavings and rough edges and then chamfer approx R0 3 with a file or similar tool 2 DEBURRING CASTING ERRORS amp RADIUS FINISH Chamfer and radius the edges and galleries to remove all casting flashes errors You c
