7. 3 MODEL AM 101 Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art thermal environment Predicted Mean Vote PMV 208 No 47 Measurement of the Thermal Environment at Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art Part II Masahide INUZUKA Takefumi NITTA and Takeshi ISHIZAKI Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art is an art museum built in Shizuoka prefecture and opened in 1986 The museum consists of two buildings the main building and the Rodin Wing Responses to questionnaires reveal that some visitors feel uncomfortable when they walk in the museum especially in summer This is because they experience rapid changes of sensible temperature while moving in the museum In order to understand this problem quantitatively measurements of the thermal environment were conducted by using an amenity meter Measurements were conducted four times in different seasons Although the results of PMV values were dependent on season weather and the operation mode of air conditioning equipments in general the thermal condition of the exhibition room turned out to be almost within the acceptable level Some further remarks on this measurement are added at the end of this report Shizuoka Prefect
