PPPD To avoid potentially dangerous situations such as tipping you must become familiar with the power wheelchair on level ground first When getting into or out of the power wheelchair the wheelchair control must be switched off Do not use the footplates when getting into or out of the power wheelchair Get to know with assistance from another person how the power wheelchair reacts when the center of gravity is shifted i e when driving on slopes or inclines or clearing obstacles like steps and curbs Caution When using the wheelchair on inclined surfaces ensure the automatic brakes are operating correctly Use your wheelchair properly For instance do not drive against obstacles including steps curbs or doors without braking first The critical obstacle height is 4 cm Therefore driving over steps or curbs higher than 4 cm should not be attempted Be especially careful with any naked flames and cigarettes as the back upholstery and seat cushion could catch fire The maximum load for the A200 is 100 kg The driving characteristics of the A200 can be influenced by electromagnetic fields as emitted by mobile phones or other radiating devices For this reason all mobile devices must be switched off when driving It is also possible that the A200 itself generates electromagnetic fields that might cause interference in other devices Therefore the control is to be switched off whenever you don t need it Ensure the tyres are

43. rside of the control panel holder 9 2 Drive Function When switching on the wheelchair it will be set at the speed level that was last used prior to switching the system off Button 4 is used to increase the speed level and button 5 to reduce it For driving use the joystick 7 The further the joystick is moved away from the mid position the faster the A200 will drive in this direction The maximum speed with full deflection of the joystick is dependent on the selected speed level The characteristics for speed acceleration and deceleration can be adapted by the trained dealer to meet the individual user s requirements As soon as the joystick is released the wheelchair is braked automatically until it stops moving When standing still the mechanical brakes are automatically active so the A200 cannot move For safety reasons when there is nobody sitting in the wheelchair or the driving function is not required the wheelchair control should be switched off to prevent uncontrolled driving through accidental joystick manipulation 27 Otto Rock QUALITY FOR LIFE 9 3 Brake Release In case of failure of the control unit or insufficient battery capacity it is possible to push the A200 To do this the brake must be released using the mechanical release mechanism Figure 16 The control will recognise that the brake has been released and automatically deactivate the driving function Note A After locking the brake release l
