16. ready to receive Readiness to transmit is indicated by enabling the DTR line and if config ured sending XON decimal code 17 if the weighing instrument connected to the COM port is ready to receive and the input buffer is empty Setting the Memory ID The computer can be used to configure a memory ID in the data storage device This memory ID is then stored in the data storage device and sent to the computer together with every set of incoming data from the weighing instrument The memory ID can consist of up to 14 printable ASCII characters Setting the Date and Time This command synchronizes the date and time in the data storage device with the time in the computer Once the command has been executed successfully the string is sent back to the computer If the values remain inconsistent the error string ERRDATA is returned see next page for details The date and time in the data storage device are stored with each data set received from the weighing instrument for data identification Each adjustment of the time setting is recorded as well Use this command sparingly and only if the difference in time setting between the data storage device time setting and the computer is unacceptable Make certain that no unambiguous data records can result for example when clocks are changed to or from summer time Reading the Date and Time This command reads the current date and time in the data storage
