1. 3 3 3 Creating a Phonebook List manually second option of creating a Phonebook List is directly from the STP Gate Management This option is more suitable for small contact list In order to add a contact name follow these simple steps 1 Click on the Read STP Gate button and choose the Read All option The entire phone book list will load and be displayed in the Phone book list window 2 Choose a slot you wish to enter new number and click on the Edit button For editing a number please refer to section 3 4 Editing the Phonebook List To enter another contact you need to do the same procedure After you entered all of your contacts it is recommended that you save the Phonebook list to a file To save a file see section 3 1 How to save file In case a phone number is added in a location that exceeds the phone book list size the contact number will be ignored by the STP Gate 3 4 Editing Phonebook List You can edit a contact from the Phonebook List in case there was a mistake in the typing or the phone number has changed To do so click on the contact you wish to edit from the Phonebook List and click the Edit button in the Phonebook List Configuration A new window will appear allowing you to change the name parameter or the phone number parameter After you edited your contact click on the OK button The new edited contact will appear in the Phonebook List section in the main program windo

DISCONNECT button A disconnected window will appear and the status connection will change to Not Connected in the lower section of the Remote Connection In case the remote connection could not be established because of any reason a message window Disconnected or remote side busy will appear STP Gate User Manual Revision 1 04 Eme 5 SENDING DATA TO STP GATE 5 1 Sending Phonebook List Duetech Beres Ltd After editing the Phonebook List you need to send it to the STP Gate It is possible to send the entire Phone book list or a section of it In order to send all the Phonebook List you need to click in the Send Read Configuration on the Send STP Gate and then Send All Before sending the phonebook list GATE Management will verify the phonebook list size of the STP Gate product In case the local phonebook list size is smaller then the STP Gate defined phonebook size the application assumes empty records for the non defined records Example STP Gate phone book list size is 200 And Phone book size loaded from an excel file is 150 numbers If Send All command was chosen the 150 phone numbers will be sent and additionally 50 numbers of 0000000000 will be sent In order to send a section of the list you need to mark the selected area of the Phonebook List with your mouse and then click the Send STP Gate and on the Send Selected During the sending process a status bar located in the Connection Status

8. will indicate about the progress of the process 5 2 Sending general configuration Configuring the device ID will be set after you enter a name or a number in the fill out table located in the STP Gate Configuration and clicking the Set Unit ID Configuring the Gate Delay is easy all you need to do is to set a number in seconds in the fill out window in the STP Gate Configuration and click the SET Gate Delay button Setting the pin code will be done after you enter the pin number of the SIM card located in the desirable STP Gate and click the Set PIN Code The default number is 1234 26 STP Gate User Manual Revision 1 04 gt 6 READING DATA FROM STP GATE o 6 1 Reading Phonebook List After you plug the STP Gate it is recommended to read the data from it To do so click in the Send Read Configuration on the Read STP and than Read All if the Phonebook List size is 200 than you ll see in the Phonebook List Configuration all the contacts starting from 0 to 199 During the reading process a status bar located in the Connection Status will indicate about the progress of the process 6 2 Reading Last Error This feature gives to user the information about last connection breakdown If for any reason the STP Gate had trouble to establish a GSM or CSD connection the user have the ability to query the STP Gate about the last connection error To make the query click on the debug button located in the main menu

10. cable 4 2 Remote connection modem For slightly adjustments and configuration it is recommended to use the remote connection The benefit of this connection is by managing the STP Gate from a remote distance The requirements for remote communicating with the STP Gate are 24 STP Gate User Manual Revision 1 04 c Duetech Beres Ltd Modem that supports CSD communication If the modem uses SIM card make sure that the SIM card supports CSD Communication baud rate of 9600 bps Our recommendation for CSD communication is using a TP232 in manual mode operation For more information about T P232 please refer to TP232 user manual V1 0 At http www duetech gberes com new2 gt Technical Downloads To make this connection operational you need to 1 Connect your modem through a serial connection to PC Open STP Gate Management Choose correct serial COM Port Click on Enable Remote Connection Check box ae a Write down the phone number of the STP Gate Enter the phone number of the STP Gate and PIN Code and click the CONNECT button Connection is established after approximately 25 seconds A Connected window will appear indicating that a connection was established successfully and a connected status will appear in the lower section of the Remote Connection During this connection you will be able to send and configure the STP Gate remotely After you finished communicating with the STP Gate click on the

24. w 23 STP Gate User Manual Revision 1 04 Eme Duetech Beres Ltd After you finished editing your contacts don t forget to save the Phonebook List to a file see section 3 1 How to save file 3 5 Resetting Phonebook In order to reset a phonebook First thing to do is to read the phone book list from the STP Gate After the list has been populated you can reset it This option will change all the numbers listed to 0000000000 To do so you need to click the Reset Phonebook button that s located in the Phonebook List Confiquration After changes have been made don t forget to send them to the STP gate See section 5 1 Sending Phone book List how to do so 3 6 Clearing Phonebook To clear the entire phone book list click the Clear List button that s located in the Phonebook List Configuration This option will clear all the phone numbers from the phone book list window 4 ESTABLISHING CONNECTION WITH STP GATE 4 1 Direct RS232 cable connection It is recommended to initiate the phonebook using direct cable before the first usage Configuring the STP Gate using a cable is much more effective in sense of communication speed When the STP Management application is executed the serial port is scanned looking for a connected STP Gate device if a device is found a message box with the device s ID will appear otherwise you will get a message saying STP Gate not found See section 1 3 3 Connecting the RJ45
