3. ed Operating instructions and spare part list are placed in the combine cab IMPORTANT Keep well clear of the chaffspreader at all times when the fan unit is rotating An unbalanced fan can cause damage to other parts In extremely heavy moisture conditions chaff may stick Under such condition s do not use the chaffspreader Remove spreaderplate and disengage the fan DAILY CHECKS Check that fan rotor is free from straw Check that protective guard mesh and deflector plates are clean Check for correct belt tension Initial check to be made after 2 hours of use GRAIN LOSS CHECK Disengage the fan before checking grain loss from the seives The clutch is located on jackshaft behind the guard The chaff fan can be disengaged only for a short time with the spreaderplate mounted BELTS The spreader disc belt tension according to the combine manual The chaffspreader belt tension MAIZE OTHER CROPS Not to be used when combining maize sunflower or similar crops Turn off chaffspreader only by dismounting spreaderplate and disengaging the fan
4. f the rubber guard See figure 2 Cut offa piece off both tie rod brackets on the axle Only on JI CASE 1680 See figure 3 Original Tensionmechanism NOT TO BE USED IN MAIZE I SUNFLOWER OR SIMULAR CROPS I l l DISMOUNT THE SPREADERPLATE l i DISENGAGE THE FREEWHEEL i l l l I TIE ROD BRACKET 1680 30 mm Chaff spreader belt Working Notes 1 Mount the transmission braket 22061 towards to the U girder on nght side Use 2 existing bolts 2 Drill 5 holes diam 11 for attachment of the trans mission bracket To drill the hole behinde the pulleys remove pulleys 3 Mount upper clamp 32888 in the bottem holes on the transmission bracket Use M 10 25 screw 4 Place the fan unit between the side plates and mount lower clamp 32889 on outside the right hand side plate Use M 10 30 screw on right side and M 10 25 on left side 5 Mount upper and lower belts and tension the belts See figure 4 and 5 6 Mount guard 7 Mount warning decals Checklist Chaff Spreader JICASE Before operating the chaff spreader check carefully the following Belt lines straight Belt tension after 10 minute test run No untoward sounds from the fan unit when increasing decreasing speed Fan unit and pulleys are in balance There is no interference between the steering tyres and the chaff spreader at maximum axle tyre articulation Warning decals are prominently mounted All guards are correctly mount
