4. s LED Therapy www josLED com This screen is hereafter referred to as the Home Screen prior to version 1 6 0 firmware Machines with Version 1 6 0 and later firmware see Addendum at end of manual The user has to acknowledge certain criteria before proceeding to use the machine Until these criteria are accepted the machine cannot be used safety feature The first message with be NOT FOR MEDICAL USE press the MENU button The second message will be No use on people with Epilepsy press the TIME button The third message will be No use on Light sensitive skin Press the FREQ button The fourth message will be To be used only by trained staff Press the POWER button The Intense V is now ready to use and the Home Screen is displayed Whenever the Home Screen is displayed access is available to the Help screen by pressing the Run Stop button Pressing this button several times will scroll through the help screens thereafter returning to the Home Screen The help lines displayed are in reality prompts From the Home screen any of the five treatment types light colours can be selected by pressing the Menu button The five treatment types available are Red Green Blue Yellow also known as Amber and Total After selecting the required colour the duration of the treatment is selected by pressing the Time button A range from 2 to 60 minutes is available Either press repeatedly

8. model The manufacturer of this equipment shall under no circumstance be liable for any consequential damages caused in relation to the use of this product If not in agreement with this condition do not use it return it to the point of purchase This warranty extends ONLY to the original purchaser end user and is not assignable or transferable to any subsequent purchaser end users The manufacturer of this equipment reserves the right to amend the warranty conditions without further notice E amp OE 7 1 Pay As You Go This feature is available only with software version 2 0 0 and higher introduced in early 2014 Pay As You Go PAYG overview The Instrument can function in one of two ways as Locked or Unlocked Permanently Unlocked No restrictions all functions operate without need for further attention This applies to a LED instrument that has been purchased outright Locked Vending mode This is where PAYG applies A user is supplied the instrument usually conditions apply The instrument is supplied loaded with 1 hour approx running time installed Upon using the instrument this initial free time decrements until it is used up upon which the instrument will not function and a message is displayed on the LCD screen advising that a Top Up is required In other words the instrument is now LOCKED There are 3 Top Up times unlock key available They are 10 hours 25 hours or 50 hours After topping up the instrum
9. needs to be terminated this can be done by pressing the Menu and Power buttons at the same time The instrument will return to the Home Screen If during a scroll through the Help menu it is required to return to the Home Screen then pressing the Menu and Power buttons together will terminate the Help menu option By pressing the Menu and Freq buttons together the LCD screen will display the total amount of time that the instrument has operated Example 0 94 3 45 From left to right these numbers can be interpreted as follows O zero years 9 9months 4 4days 3 hours 45 minutes Care and Maintenance The INTENSE Professional V Photon Therapy instrument is fitted with 504 State of the Art light emitting semiconductor devices to provide an efficient concentrated light source The Light Source is an expensive item and carries a three 3 year factory warranty Each of the 504 devices have been especially selected to provide the correct light required to treat conditions associated with skin disorders The 504 optics are made up of Gallium Indium Nitride and Aluminum Gallium Indium Phosphide light emitting semiconductors devices operating in the selectable frequency bands of 625 515 465 and 590 nano Metres The Light Source identified by the 504 oval clear acrylic bulbs that emit the selected light are extremely rugged The very nature of their ruggedness and high photon output has resulted in the successful compact desi
10. or hold the Time button in to increment the period required Next select the Application Frequency by pressing the Freq button The frequency range available in Hertz Hz is 100 90 80 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 Refer to your treatment schedule for the frequency setting If in doubt set to 100 Hz Caution Low frequencies in the range 30 20 10 Hz can induce adverse effects in some persons Ensure the person being treated does not suffer from any ailment that is effected by light pulsation 3 1 Once the frequency has been selected the Power setting needs to be adjusted This is achieved by pressing the Power button There are 4 power settings 100 75 50 25 These numbers indicate a percentage of full power If in doubt use the 100 setting Lower settings are useful when only a limited amount of exposure is required perhaps after ongoing lengthy treatment sessions use lower power as a top up Before turning commencing the treatment make certain the person to be treated has their eyes covered by a eye mask Although the light is not harmful it is recommended for comfort to cover the eye to block out any visible light The distance between the instruments head light source and the treatment area should be approximately 200millimetres 20 centimetres this distance is not critical The distance can be adjusted by varying the length of the Stand The stand is designed to move telescopically ov

INTENSE Professional V LED Therapy Instrument Owners Manual CONTENTS Unpacking and Assembly Cautions Operation Care and Maintenance Specification Useful Information Warranty amp Copyright Pay As You Go Please refer to Addendum for most recent updates NOTE Please read the Unpacking and Assembly section before removing the instrument from the packaging Unpacking and Assembly If possible retain the original packing as it will be the ideal way to transport the instrument if required Ideally two persons should be available to assembly the instrument The instrument consists of the HEAD SHAFT ASSEMBLY and stand BASE Goose Neck 0 Head a E s Head and Shaft Assembly Adjustment Clamp Base a The Head gooseneck and telescopic stand are pre assembled as one piece No further assembly is required 1 Find a suitable flat surface such as a table cleared of any articles 2 Gently remove the Head and Stand Assembly from the packaging and place on the table Take care to support the Head in one hand as the Gooseneck is flexible and lifting the instrument out of the packaging without supporting the Head will result in the Head swinging down Stand overhangs the table edge Place the Head and Stand Assembly on the table as shown above The threaded end of the stand should be exposed and overhang the edge of the table 3 Remove the stand BASE from the packaging It weight around 3kg so is fa
12. bout 1 second The following appears LCD Top Line Enter KEY value LCD Bottom Line Insert _ This is where you will enter the unlock KEY using the FREQ and POWER buttons The FREQ button will insert the values the POWER button will move the cursor to the next position 3 There are 16 possible digits that can be entered at any one position They are 0 through 9 and letters A B C D E F Lets assume you need to insert the KEY value of FD51 70309 The first character is the letter F Press and release the FREQ button 16 times You will notice that on each press the value increments from 0 up until you reach the F Now to insert the next character the letter D Press the POWER button once and the cursor will advance to the next character position Repeat as above using the FREQ button until the letter D is displayed Repeat these steps until all the characters for the Unlock Key are inserted Upon completion after inserting the final character press the POWER button once more to accept the Unlock Key as entered A message DONE and Checking will be displayed on the LCD screen If the Unlock Key was entered successfully then the message Will Start in 2 Seconds is displayed and the LED instrument will work 4 You will notice that you can also press and hold the FREQ key and the characters will automatically scroll through 0 9 and A F This can save time when inserting values 5 In the ev
13. e end of the power pack s cord into the socket located at the bottom of the shaft This socket can be seen slightly above where the Base fits onto the Shaft 11 Plug the power pack into a 240v AC power outlet turn the power point switch ON That completes the assembly of the instrument If all the steps above where followed correctly the instruments face plate and LCD display should be illuminated The instrument is now ready for use 1 2 CAUTIONS This instrument must only be used by suitable trained and qualified persons The instrument is not intended for Medical use Do NOT use on persons with a history of epilepsy and light sensitive skin If unsure of a condition to be treated seek professional medical advise The instrument is not waterproof keep away from wet areas Stand on level surface Do not operate with wet hands 2 1 OPERATION The instrument is very user friendly and easy to operate LCD Displa Too Line of Text i p ay Bottom Line of Text Control Buttons Menu Time Frequency Power Run Stop Operation of the instrument is controlled by push buttons These are labeled as in the diagram above Upon powering up the firmware operating system version is displayed for 1 second Note this number down eg 1 5 0 as it is important when making an enquiry regarding the instrument After the initial 1 second version display the LCD Liquid Crystal display will indicate the Name and details of the unit eg Jo
14. ent that you enter an incorrect Unlock KEY a message will be displayed informing you of the error Simply start over by pressing and holding the MENU button again 6 You can now check your Top Up time credit in the instrument as well as the next CODE that will be used for the next Top Up by pressing and holding the MENU button for approximately 4 seconds 7 A new Unlock Key can ONLY be inserted once the current Top Up time in the instrument has expired Pressing and holding the TIME key will not permit entry to the Insert Key screen whilst running time is available in the instrument Other Functions There are other useful functions as follows Function 3 Turn BEEP On Press the MENU button From any Program select T 03 using the TIME button Now press the FREQ and POWER button together The LCD will display BEEPS turned ON Press the MENU button once to return Function 4 Turn BEEPS Off Press the MENU button From any Program select T 04 using the TIME button Now press the FREQ and POWER button together The LCD will display BEEPS turned OFF Press the MENU button once to return Function 5 Clear the Usage meter The usage meter can be viewed by pressing the MENU and TIME buttons together MENU and FREQ buttons for unlocked unit The time used is displayed as Years Months Days Hours Minutes The clear this usage meter and reset it to zero Press MENU then T 5 then press FREQ and POWER buttons together A message
15. ent will operate for that amount of time The methods of topping up are a Viathe BioQuip website and PayPal or b Via an email request to our offices The user can at any time view the amount of time left in the instrument and can purchase Top Up time in advance of the instrument running out of time This is handy in that a treatment session might be underway when the time expires and that the time then taken to obtain the unlock key would be an inconvenience to the client receiving treatment HOW IT WORKS All operations required to obtain the necessary codes and enter the unlock key are performed directly on the LED instrument via its LCD display and 5 push buttons Once the time has expired and the instrument no longer operates a message is displayed on the LCD screen thus EXPIRED Time to Top Up Press and hold the MENU button for approximately 4 seconds The LCD screen will display 2 pieces of information Time left zero in this case and a CODE Example LCD Top Line Time Left 0 0 LCD Bottom Line CODE FAE101145 This is the CODE that is required to Top Up the instrument Make a note of the code displayed on the LCD screen 8 1 Topping Up This is a simple operation using the Internet Step 1 Go to the website www bioquip com au and select the Top Up button from the Menu on the left of the screen Once the Top Up screen opens on the right select the link Purchase Top Up Time and click on it
16. er a distance of between 1 2 and 1 5 metres Do not force the telescopic action beyond these values Permanent damage can be caused by doing so To adjust loosen the Adjustment Clamp refer to Unpacking and Assembly which is located about half way up the stem of the stand Gently extend or retract the upper section of the stand to required height then tighten the Adjustment Clamp In the event that extending or retracting the upper section is stiff then gently tap the shaft a few times to release any tight spot When all is set press the Run Stop button to commence the treatment If for any reason during the session it is necessary to pause the treatment this can be does by pressing the Run Stop button this will place the instrument in a Pause Mode The timer will cease to count down the set time Upon commencing the session again by pressing the Run Stop button the timer will continue counting down until the end session time is reached The session can be pauses as many times as is necessary during selected time period This enables the person being treated being assured that their overall session treatment time is correct However it is not advisable to interrupt a treatment session A solid start to finish session produces better results At the end of the selected session time period the instrument will turn off its light source and emit three gentle beeps notifying the user that the session is complete 3 2 If a particular program
17. gn of the INTENSE Professional V Therapy instrument PRECAUTIONS CARE and MAINTENANCE of the instrument e Never expose the instrument to water It is not water proof and can be permanently damaged if water or moisture enters the instrument e To clean the 504 optics first use a dry light artist brush to dust out any surplus dust that might have collected and settled between the individual optics e Using a lint free soft cloth lightly dampened not wet with medical grade alcohol or a high grade methylated spirits gently wipe over the optics CAUTION These chemicals are toxic and flammable please take the necessary precautions when using them e After wiping the optics the rest of the instrument can be wiped over with the same cloth e Let the instrument stand for ten 10 minutes after wiping down to dry before turning it on again Thereafter is so desired the instrument can be wiped over with a dry cloth to restore its luster e Do not use abrasive cleaning products on any part of the instrument e When not in use unplug or turn the power off e Store in a clean dry place when not in use e Use the supplied power pack only The INTENSE Professional V is warranted against defect for a period of one 1 year from date of purchase The 504 piece Light Source is warranted for a period of three 3 years from date of purchase Warranties will be honored providing the instrument has not been mistreated and is returned and retrieved to

20. irly heavy be careful not to drop it on your feet 4 The Base screws onto the threaded end of the stand Care MUST be taken not to cross thread when attaching Cross threading either the Base or Stand shaft will nullify the warranty 5 Carefully screw the Base in a CLOCKWISE direction onto the shaft The screwing should take place without any undue pressure or force Screw the Base all the way onto the shaft ensuring that it is tight 1 1 6 WARNING If the screwing feels awkward or tight or force has to be used to turn the base whilst screwing this indicates that cross threading might be taking place Remove by unscrewing then begin again make sure the Base and shaft are lined up evenly before starting to screw the Base into position 7 After successfully attaching the Base hold the instrument firmly by the top of the Gooseneck where it meets the Head and the bottom of the shaft near the base Lift the instrument off the table and place it gently on the floor 8 Now slowly and gently bent the Gooseneck into position as indicated in the pictures above 9 If the Gooseneck looks a bit out of alignment straighten it up be placing both hands on the Gooseneck and maneuvering it into the position required CAUTION NEVER hold the Head in both hands and swivel it to obtain a desired Head position Manipulate the Gooseneck to set the Heads position 10 Remove the 15volt power pack from the packaging Insert the small plug on th
21. lar treatment Once a day is enough 14 Can the light damage my eyes Looking into ant light source is not a good idea and should not be done You can wear a blackout strip over your eyes to prevent accidental eye contact with the light 15 What if have more than one condition With the INTENSE V Professional LED Therapy Light Source this is not a problem Select the TOTAL menu option This option applies all four colours in rotation Red Green Blue Yellow at intervals of three seconds each for the duration of the selected treatment time 16 Why does the INTENSE V Professional have a selectable Power option You can set the light intensity to 100 75 50 or 25 This enables one to fine tune the amount of light that lands on the skin surface so that the penetration can be controlled more accurately Some conditions require a specific colour light to be applied deeper than others 17 Why does INTENSE V Professional have selectable Frequency Hz You can adjust the Burst Rate of the applied light form 100Hz down to 10Hz Note Hz stands for the measurement of frequency Hertz These bursts of light energy cause the light to penetrate deeper due to the excitation and subsequent vibration of the skins tissues For example a Power setting of 100 and Hz of 10 maximum would provide a greater vibratory effect than would a setting of 25 Power and 100Hz minimum this would be due to the effects on the tissues being targeted Caution C
