3. be directly connected to the hub on the UB UOL1IIL Operation Environments When Using USB Port m Operation Environments Hardware USB compliant PC OS Windows 98 or later Second Edition is recommended For detailed information on other operating systems please ask your dealer Software You need a device driver when you use the product Please ask your dealer how to get the device driver for the UB UO1III U02HI U03II and how to install it Note Even if the above operation environments are satisfied your system may not work properly depending on the devices connected to your system A CAUTION When you use the PA PB series AC adapter packed with the TM series do not use the DM connector on the UB UOTIII U02II and on the TM printer If it is used the disolay module may be damaged Unpacking Make sure you have these items If any item is missing or damaged please contact your dealer for assistance If necessary you can get a locking wire strain relief separately through your dealer by using the part numbers listed below in brackets m m m UB U01M U02IM U03II Q Locking wire strain relief This manual e For UB U01II U02 1061268 Ferrite core 2031678 e For UB UOSII 1091047 Connecting the Interface Cable USB Interface Cable Connection 1 Make sure both the printer and the host computer are turned off 2 Hook the USB cables through the locking wire strain relief to keep it in place USB upst
4. ream DM connector connector locking wire strain relief USB downstream connector USB HUB UB UOTIII only USB cable 3 Insert the square connector end of the USB cable into the upstream connector of the UB Board 4 Insert the opposite end of the USB cable into the downstream connector of the host computer 5 Change the printer settings to the parallel interface settings If you use a printer that permits selecting the setting of the I F pin 31 reset signal select Enabled For details see the settings described in the printer documentation 6 Install the device driver for the TM U01III U02III UOSII For installation procedures please ask your dealer Display Module If you install a display module be sure to use the following settings Item Selection Transmission setting Baud rate 19200 bps Parity None Data word length 8 bit Default setting of Device selection Only display selected only for displays for which the setting can be changed Connection type Y connection disabled only for displays for which the setting can be changed See the manual for more details of the display module setting Also you should note the following points before installing A CAUTION Do not connect any device other than the EPSON display module connector to the DM connector Also do not connect other lines such as a telephone line to the DM connector otherwise the prin
