1. 2002 FORK SERVICE KIT INSTRUCTIONS Rebound Damping Assembly Reference Owners Manual Figure B 2002 Six and Mars Forks Disassembly Assembly Turn bicycle upside down or remove fork from bike 1 Install new rebound assy start threads by hand and then Unscrew compression damping or No Bob assembly Pour torque to 20inlbs out oil and discard appropriately 2 Pull out damper shaft as far as it will go From the left leg dropout use a 4mm hex wrench to remove 3 Press inner leg assy into outer leg casting until damper the compression rod screw shaft contacts casting Remove rebound adjuster knob if applicable using a2mm 4 Use a 8mm hex wrench to turn the damper shaft hex wrench counterclockwise threading it into the casting Torque From the right leg dropout use a 8mm hex wrench to tum to 20inIbs the damper shaft clockwise until it can be pushed into the 5 Install adjuster knob if applicable Knob should turn casting uninhibited until the indicator is stopped by the casting Remove crown steer inner leg assy from the outer leg If not remove knob and reinstall on hex shaft in 1 6 turn casting increments until full travel is reached Remove right leg end cap and shaft assembly from inner 6 Lightly coat inner legs with Prep M grease leg 7 Press inner leg assy into outer leg casting until compression rod contacts casting 8 Install compression rod screw torque to 20inIbs 9 Fill right leg with Swt Maxima fo2. rk oil to level recommended in owner s manual Owner s manuals can also be found on our website at www answerproducts com Cover the opening witha rag cycle the fork 5 times and recheck level Add remove oil if necessary Reinstall compression damper torque to 35inlbs Reinstall adjuster knob if applicable Knob should turn uninhibited until the indicator is stopped at the front and rear of the crown If not remove knob and reinstall on hex shaft in 1 6 turn increments until full travel is reached 12 Slide fork boots down and snap over dust seal flange 13 Lubricate the inner legs through the Microlube ports using Prep M grease 14 Reinstall fork on bike Compression Damper or No Bob Damper Shaft Compression Rod Screw PN 050356 Rev NC 9 26 01 Crown Steer Assy Rebound Damper Assy Outer Leg Assy PN 050356 Rev NC 9 26 01
