2. environmental conditions will influence frequency and duration of operation Talk to your distributor about operation times to best suit your individual needs The following guidelines are for traps utilising CO primarily The Server non gas unit and the Server Satellite 4 Point System can operate continuously or manually switch off on Start up Activate the unit and allow the release of COs for 24 hours For heavy infestations run the unit continuously for a few days or in extreme cases up to seven days Heavy Follow up If you find there is still a high infestation you may want to keep the unit operating and releasing gas for 7 hours during daylight and 7 hours after dusk 14 hours per day for a few days then check results Medium If mosquito numbers have reduced you can reduce operation time to 2 hours at dusk and 1 hour at dawn 3 hours per day Maintenance Once the infestation is under control operate the unit 1 hour at dusk and 1 hour at dawn 2 hours per day as a maintenance measure during mosquito season Programing Procedure mosQUITo Eradicator 6 1 Plug the electrical cord into the trap and switch on power Mo Tu WE TH FR SA Su 6 2 If there are no numbers visible in the control clock s control area then the internal self charging clock battery is flat In this case leave the power on for a couple of hours until the battery clock charges and the clock numbers become visible It may
3. spent cartridge from the trap and dispose of as directed Step 2 Follow the manufacturer s directions for use for Electronic Insect Killers See Octenol Mosquito Attractant packaging but reposition as per instructions in this manual Figure 18 Step 3 Press the new cartridge firmly in position on the lens as shown in Figure 18 Octenol cartridges are available from your distributor Wee First aid instructions are printed on the Octenol cartridge packaging Keep the package in an accessible place EEHELH Place the Octenol cartridge at the top right hand corner of the light lens 17 Mosquito Management System 3 00 General UV Tube The Ultraviolet UV light tube will normally function effectively for 3 000 lamp hours It will then need to be replaced in order to provide placement adequate UV light to attract female mosquitoes ieee Only approved UV tubes should be used Bantix Worldwide supplied tubes are specially designed to attract mosquitoes but are less attractive to harmless insects such as moths To replace the UV tube Step 1 Remove the tray to provide working room Step 2 Use a small flat screw driver to pry open the lens from the bottom side leaving the lens attached by Its wiring See Figures 19 20 Step 3 Turn the tube and pull out Step 4 Push replacement tube into holders and lock in by turning Note Push the tube holders inwards to ensure the tube is firmly held Step 5 Put
4. the base of the tray to about 5mm above the tray ribs Then top up with water See page 16 for information on keeping the collection tray topped up with Lactic solution 19 Mosquito Management System Maintenance amp Servicing CAUTION Servicing to be undertaken only by qualified service personnel The following tasks are the only exception and are safe for the user to perform Your distributor can also offer a service program Disconnect the power and shut off the gas supply before 1 00 To refill amp clean the collection performing any maintenance or servicing General The solution tray should always contain some lactic solution The rate of evaporation depends on climate conditions and location of the trap Besides helping to drown the captured insects the Lactic lure is also a scientifically strong attractant to many mosquitoes Once the tray Lactic tray becomes dry this benefit is lost and any mosquitoes that enter the solution trap will not be drowned The Lactic lure is nonhazardous No special storage requirements are needed However it should be handled with care and kept out of reach of children We UNU Please pay attention to the safety precautions and first aid instructions on the Lactic lure container Take good care of the container so this information can be referred to at any time See directions for use on the container Procedure to clean and refill the tray Step 1 As a general rule sim
5. the combination of spectrum and UV light EE 5 l heat and moist re attract fv TNT mosquitoes into trap Satelite Unit 15m radius mosquitoes a are also attracted by Octenol and Lactiefure fet alows one Blu etles Ceren unit to continu g mosquitoes that feed outside programmed Casate e g nekoe operating times However if you prefer the Satellite unit switches off Wg rege augot with the Master plug an off the shelf timer into the power outlet and then plug the transformer into the timer Set operation times using the timer The clock on the Master must be set to ON the position indicator bar to be above ON on the clock See Figure 16 and also lel to Operating selection note page 15 for this configuration to unction 2 00 Installing the Gas Cylinder The gas cylinder should be handled and installed according to the gas supplier s instructions posted on the cylinder Read these instructions first Gas cylinders are heavy and need to be handled by qualified and properly equipped handlers We suggest you ask your distributor to supply the gas Note a regulator is not required with the Bantix Worldwide mosquito trap The gas hose to the trap connects directly to the gas cylinder and the trap safely controls and regulates the flow of CO See Figures 1 2 The gas cylinder should be held secure to a suitable upright structure See Figure 3 Ask your distributor about gas cylinder accessories
6. then press the MINUTE button until the minute of that hour required appears eg 4 30pm Then press the PROGRAM button the number 1 OFF will appear with a blank time To set PROGRAM 1 to go off at the desired time press the HOUR button again then the MINUTE button repeating the above procedure for the time you want the program to finish eg 7 pm mosQUITo Fradicator 14 Mosquito Management System Setting Control ck 6 9 Press PROGRAM button to bring up PROGRAM 2 ON etc Repeat this 7 00 Octenol 8 00 Lactic Solution process for the number of programs you want set during the 24 hour period 6 10 Leave the unused program times blank eg If using 3 different ON OFF programs number 4 ON 4 OFF 5 ON 5 OFF 6 ON 6 OFF would be blank If they do have a time showing press the RESET RECALL button to cancel See Figure 15 6 11 You can press the PROGRAM button to cycle through the times set to ensure they are as required making changes as necessary 6 12 Once the on off times are set to your gt ena cea satisfaction press the CLOCK button to return to the real time clock display Operating selection 6 13 Press the ON AUTO OFF button to move the position indicator across the screen until the bar at the bottom of the display appears above ON position to test the operation of the trap 6 14 When satisfied set to AUTO by always moving fro

Management System 4 00 Connecting Power 5 00 Connecting the Gas 4 1 Find a suitable out of the way position for the transformer It can be mounted to a wall or other structure to keep out of reach of children 4 2 Plug the transformer into the power point 4 3 Plug the electrical cord into the transformer 4 4 Plug other end of the electrical cord into the trap power socket See Figure 9 Note The electrical cord should be placed out of the way so it won t be trioped over pulled or run over by a lawn mower 5 1 Connect the brass nut of the main gas hose on to the gas cylinder using a spanner and tighten See Figures 10 amp 11 5 2 Connect the other end of the gas hose to the trap The hose has a snap lock fitting Pull snap lock fitting back until the bearings are exposed push on firmly then release the fitting See Figure 12 5 3 Ensure the gas hose is out of the way and tied up off the ground Wike tuuu Do not turn on gas until tray is full and the clock is programmed CAUTION When disconnecting the gas hose always turn off main gas hose at the bottle before removing the snap lock from the trap to ensure no gas is in the hose See Figures 10 11 12 Figure 10 12 Mosquito Management System 6 00 setting Control Clock Recommended operation times The following are guidelines only Factors such as level of infestation whether the mosquitos are daytime or night feeders or both and

11. best position This is a high technology scientifically based system so it is important to position the trap where it will work most effectively Please contact your distributor for advice on your specific situation Before choosing a location consider these factors 1 1 h oe The trap is designed to attract mosquitoes and midges sandilies Therefore the trap should not be positioned close to where you entertain barbecue or relax Ideally position the trap at least 10 metres 30 to 40 feet away from these activities to draw the mosquitoes away Identify suspected breeding sites such as stagnant or standing water tall grass and other vegetation Position the trap as close to these areas as possible If installing a Master unit or Master Satellite Combo Sytem please note that CO is heavier than air and therefore the gas will fall or drift downhill If placing the trap on an undulating site locate it on high ground It is preferable to position the trap above the suspected breeding sites and if possible above the area you want protected The direction of prevailing winds should also be considered as mosquitoes sense their prey from downwind The best position for most traps is at the rear of the yard but the nearest available power outlet may determine where the trap will be installed When installing a Master Satellite Combo on a small residential block you may be able to install the Satellite unit in the front

16. lens back in place by placing top in first then snapping in bottom 4 QO To exchange the CO cylinder follow instructions on the gas bottle Carbon Dioxide oy CEMU Step 1 Turn off gas at the bottle Step 2 Unscrew the main gas hose at the cylinder see Figures 10 amp 11 CAUTION Always release all the gas pressure from the hose before releasing the snap lock on the trap See Figure 12 When the CO runs out follow the installation procedure on page 12 to set up the new gas bottle 18 Mosquito Management System Troubleshooting SYMPTOM have a BX3S Server non gas unit It is turned on the UV tube and prism light are operating but it is not catching mosquitoes have had my Master Satellite Combo System operating for a few months but lately it is not catching many mosquitoes It is mid summer and there are lots of mosquitoes POSSIBLE CAUSE Out of season colder months Operation times do not coincide with mosquito feeding times The present position of the trap may not be the best No Lactic solution in the tray Fan not working No Octenol CO cylinder empty The present trap positions may not be ideal No Lactic solution Fan not working No Octenol UV tube has blown 19 CORRECTIVE ACTION Mosquitoes typically breed during the warmer months Adjust operation times to match mosquito feeding times Ask your distributor for specific details Review
17. m right to centre ie OFF position to AUTO position if it is on the ON position press 3 times so it returns via the OFF position before reaching the AUTO position See Figure 16 6 15 The trap can be programmed to operate manually ON or on preset on off times AUTO 6 16 The RESET RECALL button can be used to reset or change a particular ON OFF entry When 4 dashes appear the setting can be changed When you recall an entry it will return to the values that were set before you performed a reset NOTES When the ON position is selected the trap will operate continuously When the AUTO position is selected the trap will operate only during programed on off times When the OFF button is selected the trap will not operate at all mosQUITo Eradicator Peel paper off 1 side of the double sided tape and stick the tape to the back side side without the holes of the cartridge Stick the cartridge on the light lens as shown in Figure 18 and peel off cartridge label to expose the vent holes The holes must face outwards Fill the collection tray with Lactic solution Lactic lure water The Lactic solution acts as an attractant and also serves to drown the captured mosquitoes and midges Mix 1 part Lactic lure to 5 parts water The tray holds 2 litres so mix approx 300ml of Lactic lure to 1770ml of water Instead of measuring out the desired amount 300ml of Lactic lure will cover
18. nly for 12 hour time so you may find it easier to follow suit When 24 hour time is selected AM and PM will not appear in the display When 12 hour time is selected the clock will show 0 00 for 12AM Eight programs are available To set the clock time 6 4 To set day hold down the CLOCK button while pressing the DAY button until the correct day appears at the top of the display 6 5 To set time hold down the CLOCK button while pressing the HOUR button until the correct hour appears making sure AM or PM on the left hand side of the display is correct Then repeat for the MINUTE button Release the CLOCK button and the correct day and time should be set See Figure 14 Note This is the only function where two buttons need to be pressed at the same time To set the program on off times 6 6 Set on off times by pressing the PROGRAM button once the number 1 ON will appear with a blank time Set program 1 to come on at the desired time by 6 7 Push the DAY button to select the day or days you require the trap to operate If you want it to operate at the same time each day make sure all days appear across the top ie Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su If they do not keep ee pressing the DAY button until they do You ee amp amp can set for any of these individual days or S58 RESET oan group of days Sk eo 6 8 Press the HOUR button until the hour you require appears in the display making sure the AM or PM is correct

20. ply top up the tray with water when necessary over a period of three weeks operation If the tray runs dry during this 3 week period the remaining Lactic lure will appear as a scum on the bottom of the tray Step 2 Every three weeks the insect remains should be disposed of and the tray cleaned Carefully take the tray out of the trap avoiding spilling any remaining solution on the skin To avoid wasting solution Strain it into a bucket and throw away the mosquito remains and reuse solution Clean the tray under a hose or use a brush with detergent If you wish residual Lactic solution can be safely discarded on the ground or lawn away from the house entertaining areas and pets Step 3 Place the tray part way back into the trap housing leaving enough opening to easily add the Lactic A solution To achieve the 1 5 mix Lactic to water ratio fill to 5mm above the level of tray internal ridges with Lactic lure and top up the tray with water See Figure 17 16 Mosquito Management System 2 00 Replacing the Octenol Cartridge Notes If heavy catches of mosquitoes are occurring this procedure may need to be repeated more frequently Substitutes for Lactic lure could adversely affect results Supplies of Lactic lure can be obtained from your distributor General For best results replace the cartridge according to directions on the package Refer to 7 00 Octenol page 15 To replace the Octenol cartridge Step 1 Remove the
21. such as reflective covers sleeves or boxes to help blend the cylinder into the surroundings 10 Mosquito Management System 3 00 Installing the Trap All trap models can be mounted horizontally to a suitable vertical upright such as fence wall or column See Figure 4 The units can also be mounted to any suitable horizontal platform or stand See Figure 5 Take the weight of the unit approximately 2 2 kg into consideration when deciding on the mounting surface and also when selecting the proper fasteners To mount to a fence wall or upright column 3 1 Fix two 5mm screws with 8mm heads to a suitable mounting surface leaving the screws extended approximately 5mm See Figure 7 3 2 Hang the trap at the rear key holes on the two screws See Figure 6 3 3 Additionally you can fit a third screw to secure the unit more permanently 3 3 1 Remove the tray and you will see another 6mm hole on the rear wall of the casing See Figure 7 3 3 2 Insert a self tapping 6mm SCrew Note Screws are not provided When mounting to a concrete or block wall use the appropriate masonry screws To mount the trap horizontally on a flat platform or stand 3 4 Drill two 8 mm holes through the platform if not mounting the unit to a purpose built stand See Figure 8 3 5 Take the tray out of the unit 3 6 Bolt the unit down 3 7 Re insert the tray Stands are available from your distributor 11 Mosquito
