10. to confirm Widescreen display mode Your Acer TV has a special widescreen mode that allows you to toggle between Normal Full Zoom and Cinema type views Press the WIDE key on the remote control to cycle the display between the four wide modes WIDE L oHa Normal For 4 3 standard pictures A side bar appears on each side 2 In this mode the screen will display 16 9 standard pictures In this mode 4 3 content is changed to 16 9 and 16 9 content is changed to 14 9 Cinema In this mode the aspect ratio is maintained and content is zoomed to fit the screen Troubleshooting Before you call the Acer service center please check the following items Here is a list of possible situations that may arise during the use of your TV Easy answers and solutions are provided for each Your TV has no power Test power button on TV rather than remote control Make sure the input mode is correctly set for your desired input Make sure the main power switch is turned on Make sure the power outlet is working properly and supplying the proper voltage No picture is displayed Make sure the input mode is correctly set for your desired input Make sure the antenna at the rear of the TV is properly connected Make sure the input source i e DVD player is working properly Make sure the power is ON e Try a different cable No sound is heard e Make sure the vol

Most TV allows you to block content according to rating systems The rating system available is dependent on region TV Parental Guidelines You can block TV programs depending on their rating This function allows you to control what your children are watching e TV Y Young children TV Y7 Children 7 and over TV G General audience TV PG Parental guidance TV 14 Viewers 14 and over TV MA Mature audience e ALL Lock all TV ratings FV Fantasy violence V Violence S Sexual situation L Adult Language D Sexually Suggestive Dialog MPAA Rating You can block movies depending on their MPAA rating The Motion Picture Association of America MPAA has implemented a rating system that provides parents or guardians with advance information on which films are appropriate for children e G General audience no restrictions e PG Parental guidance suggested e PG 13 Parents strongly cautioned e R Restricted Children under 17 should be accompanied by an adult e NC 17 No children under age 17 e X Adults only e NR Not rated Canadian English e C Programming intended for children under age 8 e 8 Programming generally considered acceptable for children 8 years and over to watch on their own e G General programming suitable for all audiences e PG Parental Guidance s 14 Programming contains themes or content which may not be suitable for viewers under the age of 14 e 18 Adult program

15. irst time you switch on the TV the Setup Wizard will guide you to complete the language selection and channel scanning Using the directional keys to begin the setup process Step 1 Select the setup language you prefer Step 2 Select the correct Time Zone DST Daylight Saving Time and Time Format using the remote control Step 3 Set the TV source to Air or Cable Step 4 Ensure that your coaxial cables are connected correctly before proceeding Step 5 Scan for digital channels and analog channels Step 6 Setup is now complete You are ready to begin watching TV If you leave the setup process before it is complete you will be asked if you want to 1 Resume setup wizard at next startup 2 Exit and run channel auto scan from the OSD Changing channels Enter the desired channel with the 0 9 and keys The channel will change after 2 seconds Press enter with OK to change the channel immediately or Pressing the channel CH up down button on the remote control will also change the channel Adjusting the volume Adjust the volume level using the VOL up down button on the remote control You can also adjust these settings using the front control panel Please see Front panel view on page 6 for details Connecting external audio video devices Connecting a DVD VCR STB or audio video equipment Connect your DVD player VCR or audio video equipment using the AV port located at

21. ume is not set to minimum or the sound is not set to mute e Make sure the headphones are not connected e Make sure the MUTE key is not pressed e Make sure the audio connections are connected properly Picture is not clear e Make sure the antenna cable is properly connected e Consider whether your TV signal is being properly received e Poor picture quality can occur due to a VHS camera camcorder or other peripheral being connected at the same time Switch off one of the other peripherals e The ghost or double image may be caused by obstruction to the antenna due to high rise buildings or hills Using a highly directional antenna may improve the picture quality e The horizontal dotted lines shown on the pictures may be caused by electrical interference e g hair dryer nearby neon lights etc Turn off or remove these e Try a different cable Picture is too dark too light or tinted e Check the color adjustment e Check the brightness setting e Check the sharpness function Remote control does not work e Try new batteries in the remote control e Make sure the remote sensor window is not under strong fluorescent lighting or blocked by an object e Try to clean the remote control sensor lens on the TV with a soft cloth e Use the buttons hotkeys on the TV before the remote control works If the above suggestions do not solve your technical issue please refer to the warranty card for service information
