Operating Instructions T for CaterTemp 2 amp 5 _ E Thermometers INSTRUMENT OPERATION The instrument is switched on by using the rocker switch located on the side of the instrument Apply the tip of the probe to the substance medium or surface to be measured The instrument reading may take seconds to stabilise depending on the nature of the measurement and sensitivity of the probe OPEN CIRCUIT FAULTY PROBE If the probe has developed an Open Circuit fault the instrument will display 1 SENSORS This instrument should only be used with type K Nickel Chromium Nickel Aluminium thermocouple probes to BS4937 20 or IEC 584 2 or BS EN 60584 2 BATTERY REPLACEMENT Replace the battery immediately the Lo Bat illuminates using a PP3 MN1604 or a direct 9 volt equivalent The battery is located under the sliding cover at the rear of the instrument EMC RFI Readings may be affected if the unit is operated within a radio frequency electromagnetic field strength of approximately 3 volts per metre but the performance of the instrument will not be permanently affected PRODUCT WARRANTY amp GUARANTEE This instrument carries a two year warranty and guarantee against defects in either components or workmanship During this period products that prove to be defective will at the discretion of ETI Ltd be either repaired or replaced without charge The product warranty and guarantee does not cover damage caused by fair we2. ar and tear abnormal storage conditions incorrect use accidental misuse abuse neglect misapplication or modification or use with non ETI Ltd hardware software No warranty of fitness for a particular purpose is offered and the user assumes the entire risk of using the product Any liability by ETI Ltd is limited only to the replacement of defective materials or workmanship and ETI Ltd accepts no responsibility for consequential loss In line with our policy of continuous development we reserve the right to amend our product specification without prior notice This instrument has been checked or calibrated against reference instrument s calibrated by a UKAS Accredited Calibration Laboratory TYPE K to BS EN 60584 2 C Manufactured by Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd Dominion Way Worthing West Sussex BN14 8NW Telephone 01903 202151 Facsimile 01903 202445 E mail sales etiltd co uk www etiltd co uk
