EQUIN X www prolight co uk BLITZER Order code STROO2 User manual Equinox Blitzer Strobe WARNING FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY PLEASE READ THIS USER MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE YOUR INITIAL START UP CAUTION Keep this equipment away from rain moisture and liquids SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Every person involved with the installation operation amp maintenance of this equipment should Be competent Follow the instructions of this manual CAUTION TAKE CARE USING THIS EQUIPMENT HIGH VOLTAGE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK Before your initial start up please make sure that there is no damage caused during transportation Should there be any consult your dealer and do not use the equipment To maintain the equipment in good working condition and to ensure safe operation it is necessary for the user to follow the safety instructions and warning notes written in this manual Please note that damages caused by user modifications to this equipment are not subject to warranty Equinox Blitzer Strobe Safety IMPORTANT The manufacturer will not accept liability for any resulting damages caused by the non observance of this manual or any unauthorised modification to the equipment e Never let the power cable come into contact with other cables Handle the power cable and all mains voltage connections with particular caution e Never remove warning or informative labels from the equipment e Do not open the equipment
2. and do not modify the equipment e Do not connect this equipment to a dimmer pack e Do not switch the equipment on and off in short intervals as this will reduce the system s life e Only use the equipment indoors e Do not expose to flammable sources liquids or gases e Always disconnect the power from the mains when equipment is not in use or before cleaning Only handle the power cable by the plug Never pull out the plug by pulling the power cable e Make sure that the available voltage is between 220v 240v e Make sure that the power cable is never crimped or damaged Check the equipment and the power cable periodically e If the equipment is dropped or damaged disconnect the mains power supply immediately Have a qualified engineer inspect the equipment before operating again e If the equipment has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation e g after transportation do not switch it on immediately The arising condensation might damage the equipment Leave the equipment switched off until it has reached room temperature e If your product fails to function correctly discontinue use immediately Pack the unit securely preferably in the original packing material and return it to your Prolight dealer for service e Only use fuses of same type and rating e Repairs servicing and power connection must only be carried out by a qualified technician THIS UNIT CONTAINS NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS e WARRANTY One year from d
3. ate of purchase OPERATING DETERMINATIONS If this equipment is operated in any other way than those described in this manual the product may suffer damage and the warranty becomes void Incorrect operation may lead to danger e g short circuit burns electric shocks lamp failure etc Do not endanger your own safety and the safety of others Incorrect installation or use can cause serious damage to people and property Equinox Blitzer Strobe Technical specifications You should find inside the Equinox carton the following items 1 Equinox Blitzer Strobe 2 Instruction manual Technical Specifications DMX channels 2 Voltage AC 110 240V 50 60Hz Fuse F1A 250V Power consumption 23W Dimensions 330 x 235 x 210mm Weight 2 1Kgs Operations There are 4 operating modes to choose from 1 Manual 2 Sound Active 3 DMX 4 Master slave Manual Mode To run the Blitzer Strobe in Manual mode press the MODE button to show F on the LED display Now to set the flash rate use the UP and DOWN buttons and adjust the speed from 0 9 To set the intensity press the MODE button to show C on the LED display and use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the brightness from 0 9 Flash Rate 0 Slow 9 Fast Intensity Levels 0 Off 9 Full on Sound active Mode To run the Blitzer Strobe in Sound active mode press the MODE button to show S on the LED display To set th
4. e sensitivity level use the UP and DOWN buttons and adjust the sensitivity from 0 9 Sensitivity Levels 0 Low 9 High DMX Mode To run the Blitzer Strobe in DMX mode press the MODE button to show Add on the LED display Now use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the DMX address from 001 512 Analogue controller connection The Blitzer Strobe features 2 1 4 jack sockets in out for analogue remote operation and allows for several Blitzer Strobes to be linked together via using jack cable s Control of the strobes is possible via analogue 10V signals TIP 10V Sleeve Ground To control the strobe s via a analogue remote you must set the strobe s DMX address to 001 Master slave mode Link the units together using a 3 pin XLR DMX cable then press the MODE button to select one of the above modes for the master unit On the Slave unit s press the MODE button to show Add on the LED display Now use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the DMX address to 001 The Slave unit s will then follow in sequence with the Master unit Equinox Blitzer Strobe Overview DMX Chart erana vae Fand 0 255 Flash speed 0 255 Flash dimmer Over view O O O ANALOGUE REMOTE MODE DOWN UP O xE JOY IM X Q 240V AC amp Zels ES Om ee GE DMX IN DMX OUT Main features e Single 50W LED e Large coverage area e Adjustable flash and intensity rate e Flash rate range
5. of 1 12 Fps e Adjustable hanging bracket DMX 512 e DMX Digital Multiplex is a universal protocol used as a form of communication between intelligent fixtures and controllers A DMX controller sends DMX data instructions form the controller to the fixture DMX data is sent as serial data that travels from fixture to fixture via the DATA IN and DATA OUT XLR terminals located on all DMX fixtures most controllers only have a data out terminal DATA Cable DMX cable requirements for DMX operation e The Equinox Blitzer Strobe can be controlled via DMX 512 protocol The DMX address is set on the back of the unit Your unit and your DMX controller require a standard 3 pin XLR connector for data input output figure 1 Figure 1 Further DMX cables can be purchased from all good sound and lighting suppliers or Prolight dealers Please quote CABL10 2M CABL11 5M CABL12 10M Also remember that DMX cable must be daisy chained and cannot be split Equinox Blitzer Strobe DMX Set up Notice e Be sure to follow figures 2 amp 3 when making your own cables Do not connect the cable s shield conductor to the ground lug or allow the shield conductor to come in contact with the XLR s outer casing Grounding the shield could cause a short circuit and erratic behaviour common DMX 512 out DMX 512 in 3 pin XLR 3 pin XLR A A A XLR MALE SOCKET XLR FEMALE SOCKET XLR Pin Configuration 2 cold 1 gr
