Vista Blade DVRs complete range Vista Matrices VDC and VMS ranges Vista Eclipse Domes Vista VEC43 Camera Range Vista VZM camera range While the keyboard may control other non Vista BaxNet devices these are not supported by Vista and we do not expect full compatibility Powering the VKBD3i Keyboard For the Navigator DVR Columbus Triplex DVR VMS Matrix and VDC 1604 Matrix If the keyboard is within 2m of either a Columbus Triplex DVR or VDC 1604 Matrix then the keyboard can be powered via the RJ 45 lead If the unit is more than 2m from the keyboard then an external power adaptor e g the VPSU500 12 will be required When external power is used or multiple devices are connected together it is important that pins 1 2 7 amp 8 are not connected on the interconnecting RS485 cables For Vista Blade DVR For the Blade DVR a Separate power supply will be required e g the VPSU500 12 this simply plugs into the 2 1mm jack socket on the rear of the keyboard 39535 3 6 V1 13 VKBD3i User and Installation Manual Keyboard Operation Keyboard buttons symbols The keyboard contains 31 tactile buttons any buttons that have a blue symbol on the top left corner have a dual function this second function is access by using the blue shift key Please note that not all key presses are available on all Control units X deari airh T aa e m P hs i N ae 39535 3 Shift Key Used to select fu

5. second DVR subsequent units are connected together by repeating this process Next DVR OOOO VPSU500 12 power supply not included Note Each Columbus DVR needs to be addressed separately See Communications section of the Columbus Menu structure Connecting to multiple Navigator DVRs or VDC Matrices As the Navigator DVR and VDC matrix have a single RJ 45 connector it is necessary to use a breakout box to connect multiple units together It will be necessary to power the keyboard remotely using a VPSU500 12 power supply not included The data connection to the keyboard is then made via the breakout box supplied Connect the Supplied RJ 45 cable to either of the Sockets on the keyboard and the other end to the breakout box Then connect the Network Plus Black to pin 3 of an RJ 45 plug and Network Minus Yellow to pin 6 of the RJ 45 plug Connect this RJ 45 plug into the socket marked as Keyboard For the second and subsequent units further breakout boxes are required make up a second single ended RJ 45 lead an connect this to pins 3 and 6 then plug into the next breakout box and connect the Network Plus Black to pin 3 of an RJ 45 plug and Network Minus Yellow to pin 6 of the RJ 45 plug Connect this RJ 45 plug into the socket of the second unit marked as Baxnet or Keyboard te a oae ete ae ral BI QOQOO OOOO f YL VPSU500 12 power supply not included 39535 3 18 V1 13 VKBD3i User and Insta

Commands Telemetry Enable Disable T 4 gt For the Triplex DVR you need to enable Telemetry mode to be able to control Movable Cameras this is not required on the other control equipment To toggle telemetry control On Off Press Shift followed by the Telemetry key Shift T To make telemetry control easier you can also use these alternative methods to Enable and Disable telemetry mode on the Triplex DVR Enable Tap the joystick and wait for 1 second Disable Press a non telemetry key e g alarm Pan Tilt amp Zoom the Dome J oystick Use the joystick to move the dome Left Right Up and Down on most domes the speed of travel will be proportional to both how far you move the joystick in a given direction and to the level of Zoom magnification Slowing down as you Zoom IN The grip on the joystick can be rotated to zoom the lens clockwise for Zoom In and counter clockwise to Zoom out On many Domes when you reach the extreme Down position the camera will automatically flip by 180 degrees and then pan UP Al iD Iris Control amp amp Most Dome cameras have Auto Iris control to maintain the correct picture exposure If you wish to override this Auto Iris control the Iris on most Dome cameras can be opened and shut by using the Iris Open and Iris Close keys To re enable Auto Iris just Pan the camera again however on some Domes you can re enable Auto Iris by pressing Shift followed by Iris Open Shift Iris O

17. ll as using the following dedicated DVR keys you can normally also use the Pan Tilt and Zoom joystick to control your DVR this is directly supported by the Triplex DVR while on the Navigator and Blade DVRs you need you must enter DVR mode with the following key press Press Shift followed by Function both LEDs should remain lit Shift Fn A table of the key presses for each DVR is shown at the end of this section Play Forwards To Play Forwards from the play pointer Press the Play key Play Forwards The Play pointer is the part of the recording that playback will start from this is different for each DVR Blade The point at which the last play back session was stopped see Replay Triplex The point at which the last play back session was stopped Navigator A set time ago that is set inside the DVR default 2mins See GOTO e Replay Blade Press and Hold On the Blade DVR there is a special Play Forward mode called Replay Using this feature the DVR will play forwards from a set time ago that is set inside the DVR default 5 seconds to activate Replay Press amp Hold Play forwards for at least 2 seconds Press and Hold Play Forwards Goto Navigator Press and Hold On the Navigator there is a special forward play command called Goto This feature the will invoke a menu where you can quickly enter a time and date from which to start forward play to activate Goto Press amp Hold Play forwards for at
18. llation Manual Connecting to multiple Blades It will be necessary to power the keyboard remotely using a VPSU500 12 power supply not included The data connections to the keyboard are then made via the breakout box supplied Connect the Supplied RJ 45 cable to either of the Sockets on the keyboard and the other end to the breakout box Then connect the network plus Black to the RS485 1 TX on the Blade and network minus Yellow to the RS 485 1 TX on the Blade For the second and subsequent units further breakout boxes are required make up a single ended RJ 45 lead with only pins 3 and 6 connected then plug into the next break out box As with the first Blade connect the network plus Black to the RS 485 1 TX on the Blade and network minus Yellow to the RS485 1 TX on the Blade Then continue this chain for all Blades VPSU500 12 power supply not included Each Blade needs to have its address and the RS 485 1 port configured See the Serial Comms section within the System menu 39535 3 19 V1 13 VKBD3i User and Installation Manual Addressing the keyboard The RS485 address of the keyboard is set to 9 out of the box To change this address it is necessary to adjust a bank of dipswitches within the keyboard 4 screws secure the rear of the keyboard case remove these screws to reveal the PCB and there are a single bank of dip switches on the board Rear view of keyboard with back off 1s 2s 4s 8s 16s 3
