1. 3 Identify the Left Upright 79 Have a second person hold the Left Upright near the Base 95 See the inset drawing Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright 79 securely around the end of the Upright Wire 78 Then pull the other end of the wire tie until the Upright Wire is routed through the Left Upright 4 Hold the Left Upright 79 against the Base 95 Be careful not to pinch the Upright Wire 78 Insert two 3 8 x 1 1 4 Screws 6 with two 3 8 Star Washers 13 and two 3 8 x 2 3 4 Screws 5 into the Left Upright Partially tighten the 3 8 x 2 3 4 Screws 5 and the 3 8 x 1 1 4 Screws 6 until the heads of the Screws touch the Left Upright 79 do not fully tighten the Screws yet Note It may be helpful to use the short hex key on the Screw shown Attach the Right Upright not shown in the same way Note There are no wires on the right side 5 Identify the Left Base Cover 81 and the Right Base Cover 89 Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright 79 Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright 88 Do not press the Base Covers into place yet Identify the Left Bottom Handrail Cover 84 and the Right Bottom Handrail Cover 87 Slide the Left Bottom Handrail Cover onto the Left Upright 79 Slide the Right Bottom Handrail Cover onto the Right Upright 88 Attach the Left Handrail 83 to the Left Upright 79 with two 5 16 x 2 1 2 Screws 10 and two 5 16 Star Washers

3. 11 Make sure that the Upright Wire 78 is resting to the side as shown and is not pinched Firmly tighten the Screws Attach the Right Handrail 86 to the Right Upright 88 with two 5 16 x 2 1 2 Screws 10 and two 5 16 Star Washers 11 firmly tighten the Screws Remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire 78 7 If there are four screws C in the locations shown remove and discard the screws 8 Set the console assembly on the Left Handrail 83 and the Right Handrail 86 Make sure not Console to pinch any wires D 78 Assembly Attach the console assembly with four 5 16 x 1 2 Screws 8 and four 5 16 Star Washers 11 do not tighten the Screws yet 10 9 Attach the console assembly to the Handrails 83 86 with four 10 x 3 4 Screws 7 and four Console 10 Star Washers 14 as shown Start all four Assembly Screws and then tighten them 10 Connect the Upright Wire 78 to the console wire D See the inset drawing The connec tors should slide together easily and snap Console into place If they do not turn one connector Assembly and try again IF YOU DO NOT CONNECT THE CONNECTORS PROPERLY THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DAMAGED WHEN YOU TURN ON THE POWER Insert the excess wires D 78 into the console assembly Firmly tighten the four 5 16 x 1 2 Screws 8 only two are shown 11 11 Attach the Left Handrail Cover 82 and the Right Handrail Cover 85 to the Handrails 83 86
4. must add them to your schedule on www iFit com To download an Fit workout in your schedule press the Map Train or Lose Wt button to down load the next workout of that type in your schedule To compete in a race that you have previously scheduled press the Compete button To re run a recent iFit workout from your schedule first press the Track button Next press the in crease and decrease buttons to select the desired workout Then press the Enter button to start the workout Note Before some workouts will download you must add them to your schedule on iFit com For more information about the iFit workouts please see www iFit com When you select an iFit workout the display will show the duration of the workout the distance you will walk or run and the approximate number of calories you will burn The display may also show the name of the workout If you select a competi tion workout the display will count down to the be ginning of the race Note Each iFit button can also run two demo work outs To use the demo workouts remove the Fit module from the console and press one of the Fit buttons Start the workout See step 3 on page 18 During some workouts the voice of an audio coach will guide you through your workout You can select a setting for your audio coach see THE INFORMATION MODE on page 24 To stop the workout at any time press the Stop button The time will begin to flash in the disp

6. not pull on the frame and do not move the treadmill over an uneven surface 3 Place one foot against a wheel and carefully lower the treadmill HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 See drawing 2 Hold the upper end of the tread mill frame with your right hand Then pull the latch knob to the left IMPORTANT Do not turn the latch knob If necessary push the frame forward slightly Pivot the frame downward a few inches and release the latch knob To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight 2 See drawing 1 at the left Hold the metal frame Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in firmly with both hands and lower it to the floor temperatures above 85 F 30 C CAUTION Do not hold the frame by the plastic foot rails and do not drop the frame Bend your legs and keep your back straight 25 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by follow ing the simple steps below Find the symptom that applies and follow the steps listed If further assis tance is needed see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The power does not turn on a Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a properly earthed outlet see page 16 If an exten sion cord is needed use only a 3 conductor 14 gauge 1 mm cord that is no longer than 5 ft 1 5 m b After the power cord has been plugged in make sure that the key is inserted i
7. way until the last segment of the profile flashes in the display and the last segment ends The walking belt will then slow to a stop Note The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on various factors such as your weight In addition if you manu ally change the speed or incline of the treadmill during the workout the number of calories you burn will be affected If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the workout you can manu ally override the setting by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons however when the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will auto matically adjust to the speed and incline set tings for the next segment To stop the workout at any time press the Stop button The time will begin to flash in the display To resume the workout press the Start button or the Speed increase button The walking belt will begin to move at 2 Km H When the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 19 Measure your heart rate if desired See step 6 on page 20 Turn on the fan if desired See step 7 on page 20 When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console See step 8 on page 20 HOW TO USE
8. with three 8 x 1 2 Screws 1 each Do not over tighten the Screws 12 Slide the Left Bottom Handrail Cover 84 up against the Left Handrail Cover 82 and attach the Left Bottom Handrail Cover with two 8 x 1 2 Screws 1 Do not overtighten the Screws Attach the Right Bottom Handrail Cover 87 in the same way 12 13 Firmly tighten the four 3 8 x 2 3 4 Screws 5 and then tighten the four 3 8 x 1 1 4 Screws 6 only one side is shown Press the Left Base Cover 81 and the Right Base Cover 89 onto the Base 95 until they snap into place 14 Raise the Frame 63 to the position shown Have a second person hold the Frame until step 15 is completed Orient the Storage Latch 57 so that the large barrel and the latch knob are oriented as shown Attach the lower end of the Storage Latch 57 to the Base 95 with a 3 8 x 2 Bolt 3 and a 3 8 Nut 12 Attach the upper end of the Storage Latch 57 to the bracket on the Frame 63 with a 3 8 x 2 Bolt 3 and a 3 8 Nut 12 13 15 Attach a Wheel 92 to the Base 95 with a 3 8 x 2 1 2 Bolt 20 and a 3 8 Nut 12 Do not overtighten the Bolt the Wheel must turn freely Attach the other Wheel 92 to the Base 95 in the same way Lower the Frame 63 see HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE on page 25 16 Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill If there are sheets of plastic on the tread

A SET A GOAL WORKOUT 1 Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 18 Select a set a goal workout To select a set a goal workout press the Set A Goal button on the console Use the increase and decrease buttons next to the Enter button to set a calorie time or distance goal and then press the Enter button Next press the increase and decrease buttons next to the Enter button to select a goal Press the Speed and Incline buttons to select the speed and incline for the workout The screen will show the duration and distance of the workout and the approximate num ber of calories you will burn during the workout Start the workout Press the Start button to start the workout A moment after you press the button the walking belt will begin to move Hold the handrails and begin walking The workout will function in the same way as the manual mode see pages 18 to 20 The workout will continue until you reach the goal that you set The walking belt will then slow to a stop Note The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on various factors such as your weight In addition if you manually change the speed or incline of the treadmill during the workout the number of calories you burn will be affected Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 19 Measure your hea

12. ands When your pulse is detected several dashes will appear and then your heart rate will be shown For the most accurate heart rate reading continue to hold the contacts for about 15 seconds 20 Turn on the fan if desired The fan features multiple speed settings Press the fan increase or de crease button to select a fan speed or to turn off the fan Note If the fan is on when the walking belt is stopped the fan will turn off automatically after a few minutes When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console Step onto the foot rails press the Stop button and adjust the incline of the treadmill to zero The incline must be at zero or you may damage the treadmill when you fold it to the storage posi tion Next remove the key from the console and put it in a secure place When you are finished using the treadmill press the power switch into the off position and unplug the power cord IMPORTANT If you do not do this the treadmill s electrical components may wear prematurely HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1 Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 18 Select an onboard workout To select an onboard workout press the Speed button the Incline button the Intensity button or the Calorie button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display When you select an onboard workout the displays will show the maximum incline the duration the
13. ct ENGLISH To view distance in kilometers select METRIC DEMO The console features a display demo mode designed to be used if the treadmill is dis played in a store While the demo mode is turned on the console will function normally when you plug in the power cord press the power switch into the reset position and insert the key into the 24 console However when you remove the key the displays will remain lit although the buttons will not function If the demo mode is turned on the word ON will appear in the matrix To turn on or turn off the demo mode press the Enter button CONTRAST LVL Press the Incline increase and decrease buttons to adjust the contrast level of the display If a module is connected you may also select the following screen TRAINER VOICE To turn on or turn off the voice of the audio coach press the Enter button If an Fit module is connected you may also select the following screens DEFAULT MENU The default menu will appear when you insert the key into the console or when you press the Home button Press the Enter button repeatedly to select the manual main screen or the iFit screen as the default menu CHECK WIFI STATUS Press the Enter button to check the status of your iFit module The lower display will show the software version number the network SSID the network encryption type the connection status the wireless signal strength the IP address of the module t
14. distance the maximum speed and the name of the workout In addition a profile of the speed settings of the workout will appear in the matrix If you se lect a calorie workout the approximate number of calories you will burn will appear in the name of the workout Start the workout Press the Start button or the Speed increase button to start the workout A moment after you press the button the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the workout Hold the handrails and begin walking Each workout is divided into segments One speed setting and one incline setting are programmed for each segment Note The same speed setting and or incline setting may be programmed for consecu tive segments During the workout the profile will show your progress The flashing segment of the profile represents the current segment of the workout The height of the flashing segment indicates the speed setting for the current segment At the end of each segment a series of tones will sound and the next segment of the profile will begin to flash If a new speed and or incline setting is programmed for the next segment the new speed and or incline setting will appear in the displays for a few seconds and the treadmill will automatically adjust to the new speed and or incline setting AW VARDEN An ELD m um pm pm p po p 5 P Current Segment 21 The workout will continue in this
15. e key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centered Foot Rails Xx gt SYMPTOM The walking belt slips when walked on a First remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER 28 CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walk ing belt is correctly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and carefully walk on the tread mill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened EXERCISE GUIDELINES A WARNING Before beginning this or any exercise program consult your physi cian This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre existing health problems The heart rate monitor is not a medical device Various factors may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin ing heart rate trends in general These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program For detailed exercise information obtain a reputable book or consult your physician Remember proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system exercising at the proper inten s

17. f the Pulley 54 Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1 8 in 3 mm If necessary loosen the 8 x 3 4 Tek Screw 15 move the Reed Switch slightly and then retighten the Screw Reattach the Motor Hood not shown and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a correct speed reading SYMPTOM The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly a Hold down the Stop button and the Speed increase button insert the key into the console and then release the Stop button and the Speed increase button Press the Stop button and then press the Incline increase or decrease button The tread mill will automatically rise to the maximum incline level and then return to the minimum level This will recalibrate the incline system If the incline does not begin calibrating press the Stop button again and then press the Incline increase or decrease button again When the incline is calibrated remove the key from the console SYMPTOM The walking belt slows when walked on a Ifan extension cord is needed use only a 3 con ductor 14 gauge 1 mm cord that is no longer than 5 ft 1 5 m 27 b If the walking belt is overtightened treadmill per formance may decrease and the walking belt may become damaged Remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws countercloc

20. ity is the key to achieving results You can use your heart rate as a guide to find the proper intensity level The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise 165 155 145 140 130 125 115 145 138 130 125 118 110 103 125 120 115 110 105 95 90 vw 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 To find the proper intensity level find your age at the bottom of the chart ages are rounded off to the near est ten years The three numbers listed above your age define your training zone The lowest number is the heart rate for fat burning the middle number is the heart rate for maximum fat burning and the highest number is the heart rate for aerobic exercise 29 Burning Fat To burn fat effectively you must exer cise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time During the first few minutes of exercise your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy If your goal is to burn fat adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone For maximum fat burning exercise with your heart rate near the middle number in your training zone Aerobic Exercise lf your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular system you must perform aerobic exercise which is activity that requires large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time For aerobic
21. kwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened Idler Roller Screws Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high performance lubricant IMPORTANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Such substances may deterio rate the walking belt and cause excessive wear If you suspect the walking belt needs more lubri cant see the front cover of this manual If the walking belt still slows when walked on see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The walking belt is off center IMPORTANT The walking belt should be centered between the foot rails If the walking belt rubs against the foot rails the walking belt may become damaged a First remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the hex key to turn the left idler roller screw clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the left idler roller screw counterclockwise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt Then plug in the power cord insert th
22. lace Do not store the heart rate monitor in a plastic bag or other container that may trap moisture Do not expose the heart rate monitor to direct sun light for extended periods of time do not expose it to temperatures above 122 F 50 C or below 14 F 10 C Do not excessively bend or stretch the sensor when using or storing the heart rate monitor To clean the sensor use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap Then wipe the sensor with a damp cloth and thoroughly dry it with a soft towel Never use alcohol abrasives or chemicals to clean the sensor Hand wash and air dry the chest strap TROUBLESHOOTING If the heart rate monitor does not function properly try the steps below 15 Make sure that you are wearing the heart rate moni tor as described at the left If the heart rate monitor does not function when positioned as described move it slightly lower or higher on your chest f heart rate readings are not displayed until you begin perspiring rewet the electrode areas For the console to display heart rate readings you must be within arm s length of the console f there is a battery cover on the back of the sensor replace the battery with a new battery of the same type The heart rate monitor is designed to work with people who have normal heart rhythms Heart rate reading problems may be caused by medical condi tions such as premature ventricular con
23. lay To resume the workout press the Start button or the Speed increase button The walking belt will begin to move at the speed setting for the first segment of the workout When the next segment of the workout begins the treadmill will automatically adjust to the speed and incline settings for the next segment Follow your progress with the displays See step 5 on page 19 During a competition workout the Compete tab will show your progress in the race As you race the top line in the matrix will show how much of the race you have completed The other lines will show your top four competitors The end of the matrix represents the end of the race 7 Measure your heart rate if desired See step 6 on page 20 8 Turn on the fan if desired See step 7 on page 20 9 When you are finished exercising remove the key from the console See step 8 on page 20 For more information about the Fit mode go to www iFit com HOW TO USE THE SOUND SYSTEM To play music or audio books through the console sound system while you exercise plug a 3 5 mm male to 3 5 mm male audio cable not included into the jack on the console and into a jack on your MP3 player CD player or other personal audio player make sure that the audio cable is fully plugged in Note To purchase an audio cable see your local electronics store Next press the play but ton on your personal audio player Adjust the volume level using the volume increa

25. mill decals remove the plastic To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill Note Extra parts may be included Keep the included hex keys in a secure place one of the hex keys is used to adjust the walking belt see pages 27 and 28 14 THE CHEST HEART RATE MONITOR HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RATE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown Then press the end of the sen sor under the buckle on the chest strap The tab should be flush with the front of the sensor Chest Strap Tabs The heart rate moni Sensor Buckle tor must be worn under your clothes tight against your skin Wrap the heart rate monitor around your chest in the location shown Make sure that the logo is right side up Then attach the other end of the chest strap to the sensor Adjust the length of the chest strap if necessary Pull the sensor away from your body a few inches and locate the two electrode areas which are covered by shallow ridges Using saline solution such as saliva or contact lens solution wet the electrode areas Then return the sensor to a position against your chest CARE AND MAINTENANCE Thoroughly dry the sensor with a soft towel after each use Moisture may keep the sensor activated shortening the life of the battery Store the heart rate monitor in a warm dry p
26. nsert the key into the con sole After a moment the displays will light IMPORTANT In an emergency the key can be pulled from the console causing the walking belt to slow to a stop Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward if the key is not pulled from the console adjust the posi tion of the clip 18 HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE Insert the key into the console See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER at the left Select the manual mode Press the Manual button on the console If you are not connected to iFit the manual mode will be selected automatically Start the walking belt To start the walking belt press the Start button the Speed increase button or one of the numbered Quick Speed buttons If you press the Start button or the Speed increase button the walking belt will begin to move at 2 Km H As you exercise change the speed of the walking belt as desired by pressing the Speed increase and decrease buttons Each time you press one of the buttons the speed setting will change by 0 1 Km H if you hold down the button the speed setting will change in increments of 0 5 Km H Note After you press the button it may take a moment for the walking belt to reach the selected speed setting If you press one of the numbered 1 Step Speed buttons the walking belt will gradually change speed until it reaches the selected speed setting To stop the walking belt press the Stop button The time will begin t
27. nto the console c Check the power switch located on the treadmill frame near the power cord If the switch protrudes as shown the switch has tripped To reset the power switch wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in C Tripped SYMPTOM The power turns off during use a Check the power switch see the drawing above If the switch has tripped wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in b Make sure that the power cord is plugged in If the power cord is plugged in unplug it wait for five minutes and then plug it back in 26 Remove the key from the console and then reinsert it If the treadmill still will not run please see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The console displays remain lit when you remove the key from the console a The console features a display demo mode designed to be used if the treadmill is displayed in a store If the displays remain lit when you remove the key the demo mode is turned on To turn off the demo mode hold down the Stop button for a few seconds If the displays are still lit see THE INFORMATION MODE on page 24 to turn off the demo mode SYMPTOM The displays of the console do not function properly a Remove the key from the console and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Remove the seven 8 x 3 4 Truss Head Screws 16 Carefully pivot the Motor Hood 64 off Locate the Reed Switch 52 and the Magnet 53 on the left side o
28. nual The treadmill is intended for home use only Do not use the treadmill in any commercial rental or institutional setting Keep the treadmill indoors away from mois ture and dust Do not put the treadmill in a garage or covered patio or near water Place the treadmill on a level surface with at least 8 ft 2 4 m of clearance behind it and 2 ft 0 6 m on each side Do not place the treadmill on any surface that blocks air openings To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Do not operate the treadmill where aerosol products are used or where oxygen is being administered Keep children under age 12 and pets away from the treadmill at all times The treadmill should be used only by per sons weighing 330 Ibs 150 kg or less Never allow more than one person on the treadmill at a time Wear appropriate exercise clothes while using the treadmill Do not wear loose clothes that could become caught in the treadmill Athletic support clothes are recom mended for both men and women A ways wear athletic shoes Never use the treadmill with bare feet wearing only stockings or in sandals 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 When connecting the power cord see page 16 plug the power cord into an earthed circuit No other appliance should be on the same circuit When replacing the fuse in the power cord adapter insert an ASTA approved BS1362 13 amp fuse

34. se and decrease buttons on the console or the volume control on your personal audio player If you are using a personal CD player and the CD skips set the CD player on the floor or another flat surface instead of on the console THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill information and allows you to person alize console settings 1 Select the information mode To select the information mode hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console and then release the Stop button When the information mode is selected the following information will be shown The time display will show the total number of hours that the treadmill has been used The distance display will show the total number of miles or kilometers that the walking belt has moved The lower section of the display will show the status of an Fit module If an Fit module is con nected the display will show the words WIFI MODULE If a USB module is connected the display will show the words USB SD MODULE If no module is connected the display will show the words NO IFIT MODULE Select the optional screens While the information mode is selected the matrix will display several optional screens Press the decrease button next to the Enter button to select each of the following screens UNITS To change the unit of measurement press the Enter button To view distance in miles sele
