Westech Solar ABS mounting system Westech Solar OHG Installation manual Please read this manual carefully Congratulations to your new mounting system This product will facilitate the installation of your solar system Please read the following instructions carefully because only then you will receive a long lasting success with your product Tips for handling and installation The brackets have to be mounted in a way that no airflow can reach under the panel Although this product has been designed to be sturdy it is preferable to handle it with care Westech takes no responsability for damages or mistakes because of disregarding to this manuel Use only for the glueing of the ABS brackets the proved glue Always keep the mountingsystem flat do not bend twist etc For an optimal bonding the pre treatment of the surface is very important The bonding becomes much more stronger if the cleaning is done very well Installation Preparation of the surface Premise for a good bonding is the complete removing of oil fat and other dusts from the surface Connecting the profile with the module frame To screw the spoiler or the edges to the module you have to use sealing stainless steel screws with the size of 4 2x40mm Drill first the marked troughs on the spoiler edges with the size of 4 5mm After that carryover the drill holes to the module frame Drill holes into the module frame with a size of 3 5mm if poss2. ible through the complete hollow space frame TIP Before final mounting check again the position of the drill holes The solar module laminate does not being harmed due to the drilling Remove the foil from the profile this is more difficult when the module is mounted Screw together mountingsystem and module Fastening torque is 10 12Nm To avoid intrusion of water into the spoiler edges use only the screws attached to the set if other screws are used seal them carefully and check sealing every year Glueing on top of a van caravan or other even surfaces The detailed bonding instructings for the glue will be found in the packing of the glue Lay down the spoiler module unit at its final position on top of the roof TIP Before fixing the panel take care of the cable connection to the module If the module is mounted it is difficult to reach the junction box Mark to position of the spoilers edges with adhesive tape or a pen Put the glue on the spoiler edges or inside of the marked area Lay down again the spoiler module unit and press it on slightly Do not move the vehicle for 24 36 hours Westech Solar OHG Germany SemmelweisstraBe 8 82152 Planegg Tel 089 895457 70 Fax 71 e mail info westech solar com Internet www westech solar com Subject to technical alternation No responsibility will be taken for printing mistakes Our terms are valid Date 21 12 10
