1. 3. can enter the fan unhindered Set up the amplifier in such a position that children cannot touch it ATTENTION For electrical safety Device may not be operated without tube cover 36 Mechanical de coupling The quality and characteristics of the base on which your high quality Hi Fi equipment stands define the limits of sound quality which can be achieved The base surface should be as heavy rigid hard and level as possible This amplifier is supplied with the new T A damping cones This feet feature internal damping qualities which effectively de couple the unit from the base surface These features ensure that vibration in the base surface is absorbed and the delicate valves are protected from interference caused by microphony effects The amplifier should be set up in an open position to ensure that the vibration absorbers are able to work perfectly Do not allow any part of the case to touch walls or other surfaces Note If the base surface is uneven you can screw the standard feet in or out to set the unit exactly level All units must be adjusted so that they are exactly horizontal in all directions Check that all feet make solid contact with the base surface i e that there is absolutely no tendency for the unit to wobble Connections The amplifier wiring arrangements are shown in the diagrams in the Appendix Mains and loudspeaker cables and also remote control le
4. 10 Schutzschaltung Der P10 ist mit einer Mikroprozessor gesteuerten Schutz schaltung ausgestattet die samtliche Ger teteile wah rend der gesamten Betriebszeit berwacht Die Schutzschaltung sorgt daf r dass die R hren schonend angeheizt werden und sie verlangert so die Lebensdauer der R hren Da R hren einer gewissen Alterung unterworfen sind f hrt der Prozessor Buch ber die abgelaufene Betriebs zeit der R hren Nach 5000 Betriebsstunden empfehlen wir eine berpr fung der R hren durch Ihren T A Fach handler Der Ablauf dieser Betriebszeit wird vom Prozes sor durch die Meldung 5000 h w hrend der Auf heizphase signalisiert 11 Wissenswertes ber Rohren R hren sind elektronische Bauteile die herausragende klangliche Eigenschaften haben die aber auf Grund ihrer Konstruktion eine gewisse Sorgfalt erfordern Dies hangt haupts chlich damit zusammen dass R hren einen sehr empfindlichen mechanischen Aufbau haben Zudem be sitzen R hren einen Heizfaden der hnlich dem Gl h faden in Gl hbirnen nur eine bestimme Lebensdauer hat Im P10 wacht ein Mikroprozessor dar ber dass die R hren immer so schonend wie m glich angeheizt werden und dass sie stets vor berlastungen gesch tzt sind Die Betriebsspannungen der R hren sind elektro nisch stabilisiert Unter oder berspannungen im Netz wirken sich dadurch nicht negativ auf die R hren aus Die D mpferf e mildern mechanische St Be u
5. destabstand von 20 cm ist zu Wanden Decken Re galb den oder anderen die K hlluftzirkulation be hindernden Objekten einzuhalten Es ist darauf zu achten dass der Ventilator an der Ger teunterseite nicht blockiert wird und das unge hinderter Luftzutritt zum Ventilator besteht Es d rfen keine Gegenst nde auf oder unter das Verstarkergehause gelegt oder gestellt werden Stelen Sie das Ger t so auf dass es f r Kinder unzu ganglich ist ACHTUNG Das Ger t darf nicht ohne R hrenabdeckung betrieben werden 16 Mechanische Entkopplung Die Standfl che und der Untergrund auf dem hochwer tige HiFi Gerate aufgestellt werden haben einen nicht zu untersch tzenden Einfluss auf die erreichbare Klangqua litat Die Standflache sollte m glichst schwer stabil hart und eben sein Das Ger t ist mit den neuentwickelten T A Vibrationsab sorberf en ausgestattet Diese F e erreichen durch ihre inneren D mpfungseigenschaften eine sehr gute Entkopplung des Ger tes vom Untergrund Hierdurch werden Vibrationen des Untergrundes aufge fangen und die empfindlichen R hren werden vor Mikro phoniest rungen gesch tzt Damit die Vibrationsabsorber einwandfrei funktionieren k nnen sollte das Ger t frei aufgestellt werden Ein Kon takt des Gehauses mit Wanden usw sollte vermieden werden Hinweis Durch Hinein und Herausdrehen der T A Vibrations absorberf e kann ein optimaler H he

HV Moving the switch to the HV setting switches on valve heating and high voltage The P10 is immediately at its optimal operation point after switching on again This setting is recommended for brief breaks between listening sessions 5 minutes 0000 dodo 26 Operating positions DISC TUNER AUX AUX PH AUX1 AUX2 RECORDER Moving the main switch to any of these positions switches on the P10 completely rendering it ready to use you can now listen to the selected source At the same time the signal supplied by the selected source is also present at the recorder outputs and can be recorded on a machine capable of this function Switching on the P10 The P10 can be turned on by moving the main switch from any setting i e including the OFF or STBY position directly to one of the operating positions The micro processor control system ensures that the valves are always heated gently to the optimum level and that the high voltage is not switched off prematurely The smooth processor controlled warming up process of the P10 avoids damage to the valves and extends their useful life If the P10 is switched on from cold it takes about one minute for the valves to heat up fully During the initial heating phase the delay display on the screen flashes When the correct operating temperature is reached and the high voltage is switched on the high voltage symbol appears on the screen The ampli

17. einer geh rrichtigen Lautstarke regelung LOUDNESS ausgestattet die bei sehr geringen Lautstarken die frequenzabhangige Empfind lichkeit des menschlichen Ohres entsprechend der Geh rphysiologie kompensiert Durch kurzes Antippen des Tasters wird die geh rrichtige Lautst rkeregelung ein oder ausge schaltet Das Symbol im Display leuchtet wenn LOUDN eingeschaltet ist Ein langer Druck auf den Taster schaltet die Betriebsart Floating Ground Hierbei kann bei vielen Quellgeraten eine bessere Wiedergabequalit t erreicht werden F r eine optimale Funktion dieser Betriebsart ist es vorteilhaft wenn die Cinch oder Gehausemasse der angeschlossenen Quellger te mit der hinteren GND Schraube verbunden sind Das as Symbol im Display leuchtet wenn FLOAT ein geschaltet ist Hinweis Wenn die FLOAT Betriebsart verwendet werden soll sollten Quellger t und P10 mit einem Massekabel siehe Verdrahtungsdiagramm Anhang verbunden werden Sollte es zu St rungen Brumm Ger usche kommen wahrend FLOAT eingeschaltet ist schalten Sie bitte auf Normalbetrieb um Lautstarke und Balancesteller 7 BAL Zur stufenlosen Einstellung der Pegelbalance zwischen linkem und rechtem Kanal z B bei unterschiedlicher Boxenaufstellung dient der Balance Regler Um jegliche negative Klangbeeinflussung zu vermeiden ist der Balance Regelbereich auf ca 6 dB begrenzt Das Absenken der Lautstarke eines Ste

X1 AUX2 RECORDER In diesen Positionen des Hauptschalters ist der P10 voll eingeschaltet und betriebsbereit Die gew hlte Quelle kann geh rt werden Gleichzeitig steht das Signal der ge wahlten Quelle an den Recorderausgangen zur Auf nahme zur Verf gung und kann aufgezeichnet werden Einschalten des P10 Zum Einschalten des P10 kann der Hauptschalter direkt aus jeder Stellung also auch aus der OFF oder STBY Position auf eine der Betriebsstellungen geschaltet werden Die Mikroprozessorsteuerung sorgt daf r dass die R hren immer optimal und schonend angeheizt werden und dass die Hochspannung nicht zu fr h aufgeschaltet wird Das prozessorgesteuerte schonende Anfahren des P10 schont die R hren und verlangert ihre Lebensdauer Wird der P10 aus dem kalten Zustand eingeschaltet dauert das Anheizen der R hren ca 1 Minute W hrend der Anheizphase blinkt die Verz gerungsan zeige im Display Das Erreichen der Betriebstemperatur und das Einschalten der Hochspannung wird durch das Hochspannungssymbol im Display angezeigt Der Verstarker ist nun betriebsbereit der Lautsprecher ausgang wird freigegeben und die Wiedergabe kann beginnen Hinweise zum Hauptschalter Der Hauptschalter ist kein Netztrenner Auch in der OFF Position bleiben einige Schaltungsteile unter Spannung die Stromaufnahme in der OFF Position ist aber auf unter 1 Watt reduziert An der Ger ter ckseite befindet sich zus tzlich ein mechanischer Net
