3. the mouse 4 From this volume install the R amp S DVS software for example by dragging the VENICE View app file into the Applications folder on the sidebar of the finder This installs all necessary files and libraries of the R amp S DVS software on the computer system Afterwards the installation of the software is complete and it can be started at any time with a normal user account VENICE View Software User Guide Version 1 1 2 3 Rohde amp Schwarz DVS GmbH Basics Installation The R amp S DVS software can be deinstalled by deleting the il VENICE View app entry from the Applications folder 2 1 4 Installing under Windows The installation routine of the VENICE View software for the Windows operating system is a single executable file To download the software please contact the R amp S DVS service department To install the VENICE View software on a Windows system perform the following 1 Open a file manager on the computer system e g Windows Explorer 2 Switch to the directory that contains the installation file of the VENICE View software for the current operating system 3 Execute the installation file of the VENICE View software Install_VENICE_View lt version no gt exe for example with a double click of the mouse This starts the installation routine which will guide you through the in stallation 4 Follow the instructions given on the screen During the installation procedure all n

8. ar recent files list the listing of the last ten saved settings will be removed As soon as you save a configuration as a pre set this will be displayed in the list as the last saved setting the next time you use the VENICE View software again The option Store current settings as default offers you the possibility to save a certain configuration and to set it automatically as a custom ized default setting The next time you use the VENICE View software it will be adopted and displayed automatically 3 8 VENICE View Software User Guide Version 1 1 Rohde amp Schwarz DVS GmbH Usage Configuring the Display Configurations that haven t been saved as a preset or similar will be lost i when you close the VENICE View software The next time you use the application it will start with its predefined default settings To confirm your settings press the button OK otherwise press CANCEL VENICE View Software User Guide Version 1 1 3 9 Rohde amp Schwarz DVS GmbH Usage Keyboard Shortcuts 3 3 Keyboard Shortcuts For an easier and a faster control of the VENICE View software there are various keyboard shortcuts available which are listed in the table below Table 3 1 General keyboard shortcuts Opens the about dialog Opens the configuration dialog Increases widget Decreases widget Closes the program Opens the help dialog Refreshes the display Switches to full screen mode Enables the options frame C
9. as its configurations see the Spycer user guide The VENICE View software will not start when the Spycer license has not been updated You will receive an error message on your screen with a license issue and the program will terminate To update your Spycer license perform the following 1 Start your Spycer software and select from the Tools menu the entry License Management and then File request This will generate a license request which will be send to the R amp S DVS service department After a short time you will receive an e mail with the license key in a text file To update the Spycer license perform the following 2 Save the text file with the license key on your desktop 3 Start your Spycer software and select from the Tools menu the entry License Management and then File update 4 A directory and disk window will appear where you have to browse to your text file with the license key Usually the desktop is selected automatically 5 Select the text file and press the button OPEN A message will appear on your screen with the information that the li cense key from your text file has been added 6 Press the button OK Now you can install the VENICE View software VENICE View Software User Guide Version 1 1 Rohde amp Schwarz DVS GmbH Basics gt Installation 2 1 2 Installing under Linux The installation routine of the VENICE View software for a Linux oper ating system Is a single RPM package

14. ee section The Configuration Dialog Window on page 3 4 all connected chan nels are displayed The channels in the operating modes FREE or OF FLINE do not appear in the main window The display in the VENICE View software constantly updates automatically As soon as a channel has been connected It is displayed in an additional channel widget in the main window When a channel switches into the operation modes OFFLINE or FREE it will be removed from the display in the channel widget and thus also from the display in the main window see section Overview on page 2 7 the display of the channels due to higher network traffic and thus a per il In large networks it is recommended to set precise configurations for manent fade in out of channel widgets in the main window When the configuration options are set to Auto all other items in the dialog window are disabled To confirm your settings press the button OK otherwise press CANCEL 3 2 3 Configuration Options Customized When selecting the option Customized in the configuration dialog see section The Configuration Dialog Window on page 3 4 the table be low it and all other elements are enabled in the window The order of the channels in the table corresponds to the order of the channel wid gets in the main window The table displays the channel name the server computer name the server computer IP address and the I O channel number To the left of the chann
