AUSTAUSCH DER KUGEL Die Kugel kann bis zu zweimal ausgetauscht werden Dies ist erforderlich wenn der Kugeldurchmesser an irgendeiner Stelle im Durchmesser kleiner als 78 5 mm geworden ist Der Austausch ist ausschlie lich durch eine Fachwerkstatt vorzunehmen Mittels der separat erh ltlichen Walterscheid Universal Pr flehre l t sich das Verschlei grenzma komfortabel kontrollieren Ein Werkzeug f r die Nutmutter ist ebenfalls separat erh ltlich e Die Nutmutter M48x1 5 DIN 70852 l sen e Die Kugel von unten unter einer geeigneten Presse ausdr cken e Die neue Kugel zentrieren und ebenfalls mittels einer Presse bis zum Anschlag eindr cken Voher den Sitz leicht schmieren e Gewinde der Kugel mit Loctite 648 versehen und Nutmutter mit 160 Nm Anzugsmoment anziehen In regelm igen Abst nden abh ngig von der Einsatzh ufigkeit mu der Niederhalter gereinigt werden Hierzu wird der Niederhalter komplett aus der Lagerung herausgezogen und derin der Lagerung befindliche Schmutz kann beseitigt werden Anschlie end ist die Lagerung neu zu fetten Betr gt das H henspiel der gekuppelten Zugkugelkupplung mehr als 5 mm sind entsprechende Teile wie Niederhalter Kupplungskugel oder Zugkugelkupplung auszutauschen Beim Austausch des Nieder halters ist stets die Druck und Drehfeder der Stellschraube mit zu tauschen 4 1 Sicherheitstechnische Hinweise e Der Anwender ist verpflichtet die Kupplung ausschlie lich in einwandfreiem Zu

C Attention Do not apply any weld material at the face of the collar This face serves as the bearing sur face of the ball and must remain free from any material If applicable carry out annealing to relieve from stress e Push the ball 80 into the hole of the bushing 2 an appropriate press Make sure that the collar of the ball fits closely the bushing e Apply Loctite 648 on the thread of the ball and secure the ball with the slotted nut by applying a tighten ing torque of 160 Nm e Fix the housing of the retainer Gon the counter part using the enclosed screws M16 9 Tightening torque 245 Nm Please note GKN Walterscheid does not assume any responsibility or liability for the execution of the above work Installation of the Ball Kit shall exclusively be done by an authorised workshop 3 OPERATION see Fig 2 The pertinent safety regulations must be observed when coupling and uncoupling No one may stand between the vehicles The ball type coupling may only be operated in locked state 3 1 COUPLING e Remove the grip clip of the retainer pin 5 and pull out the pin e Pivot the retainer 3 through 90 into the lateral position Move the ball type trailer shank over the ball 1 e Lower the ball type trailer shank by means of the drawbar support or a similar device e Pivot the retainer back into the direction of travel so that it is above the ball type trailer shank e Secure with the retainer pin and the
7. grip clip Check the correct fit of the grip clip 3 2 UNCOUPLING e Use supporting jacks or similar to stop the trailer rolling away e Remove the grip clip of the retainer pin and pull out the retainer pin e Pivot the retainer through 90 into the lateral position e Raise the ball type trailer shank by means of the drawbar support e Move the tractor forwards e Pivot the retainer into the direction of travel and secure it with the retainer pin 5 and the grip clip 6 Check the correct fit of the grip clip 3 3 Adjustable retainer see fig 3 The adjustable retainer serves to compensate for wear on the ball type trailer shank and or the retainer The maximum adjustment path is 10 mm and the retainer is set at the factory in such a way that it can be ad justed 3 mm in the upward direction and 7 mm in the downward direction e Remove the retainer pin 5 e Pull the retainer G out of the hole in the ball type coupling 1 e Adjustthe height of the retainer by turning the set screw EI gt GKN LAND SYSTEMS 10 EXPECT gt MORE WALTERSCHEID e Replace the retainer in the ball carrier e Swing the retainer into the direction of travel and secure it with the retainer pins and the grip pins 6 Check the correct fit of the grip pins 4 MAINTENANCE see Fig 2 The hitch ball must be lubricated with water resistant multi purpose grease at regular intervals especially after cleaning with a pressure washer If thereis a lubrica

9. ge kommt e Die Kugel von unten mit der Nutmutter M 48x1 5 sichern Anzugsdrehmoment 160 180 Nm die Mutter ist mit Loctite zu sichern e Niederhaltergeh use 8 mit den beiliegenden Schrauben M16 9 auf dem Gegenst ck verschrauben Anzugsmoment 245 Nm ACHTUNG GKN Walterscheid bernimmt keine Verantwortung f r die Durchf hrung obiger Arbeiten Der Einbau des Kugel Kits ist ausschlie lich von einer autorisierten Fachwerkstatt vorzunehmen 3 BEDIENUNG siehe Bild 1 Beim Ein und Auskuppeln sind die Vorschriften der Berufsgenossenschaft zu beachten Es darf niemand zwischen den Fahrzeugen stehen Die Kugelkupplung ist ausschlie lich mit geschlosse nem Niederhalter zu betreiben 3 1 EINKUPPELN e Den Federstecker 6 des oberen Niederhalterbolzens 5 l sen und den Bolzen aus der Lagerung herausziehen e Den Niederhalter 3 um 90 in die seitliche Position schwenken e Die Zugkugelkupplung Kugelkalotte ber die Kugel bringen e Die Zugkugelkupplung mittels Deichselst tze o Vorrichtung absenken e Den Niederhalter zur ck in Fahrtrichtung schwenken so dass er ber der Zugkugelkupplung steht e Mit dem oberen Niederhalterbolzen und dem Federstecker sichern Auf korrekten Sitz des Feder steckers achten 3 2 ABKUPPELN e Den Anh nger mittels St tzf en Unterlegkeilen o gegen Wegrollen sichern e Den Federstecker des Niederhalterbolzens G l sen und den Niederhalterbolzen entfernen e Den Nieder
10. halter 3 um 90 in die seitliche Position schwenken e Die Zugdeichsel mittels Deichselst tze nach oben bewegen e Zugfahrzeug nach vorne fahren e Den Niederhalter in Fahrtrichtung schwenken und mit dem Niederhalterbolzen und dem Federstecker sichern Auf korrekten Sitz der Klappstecker achten 3 3 Einstellbarer Niederhalter siehe Bild 2 Der einstellbare Niederhalter 3 dient zum Ausgleich von Verschlei an Zugkugelkupplung und oder Nie derhalter Der Verstellweg betr gt max 10 mm der Niederhalter ist werksm ig so eingestellt dass 3 mm nach oben und 7 mm nach unten nachgestellt werden k nnen e Die Niederhalterbolzen G entfernen lt gt GKN LAND SYSTEMS 3 EXPECT gt MORE WALTERSCHEID KUGELKIT 80 e Den Niederhalter G aus der Bohrung in der Lagerung ziehen e Durch Drehen der Stellschraube 2 die unten in den Niederhalter eingeschraubt wird kann die H he des Niederhalters eingestellt werden e Niederhalter wieder in den Kugeltr ger einsetzen e Den Niederhalter 3 in Fahrtrichtung schwenken und mit den Niederhalterbolzen G und den Federsteckern sichern Auf korrekten Sitz der Federstecker achten 4 WARTUNG siehe Bild 2 Die Kupplungskugel ist regelm ig vor allem nach der Reinigung mit einem Hochdruckreiniger mit wasser best ndigem Mehrzweckfett zu schmieren Falls sich ein Schmiernippel an der Kugelkallotte befindet kann die Kugel ber die Zentralschmierung mit Fett versorgt werden

13. tion fitting is on the ball type trailer shank the ball can be supplied with grease via the central lubrication REPLACING THE BALL The ball can be replaced twice at most Replacement is necessary when the ball diameter has become less than 78 5 mm at any point Replacement may only be performed by a specialist workshop Wear limits can be checked conveniently by means of a separately available Walterscheid test gauge e Remove the slotted nut M48x1 5 DIN 70852 e Force out the ball from below using a suitable press e Centre the new ball and force it in up to the stop likewise using a press Before doing so slightly lubri cate the seat e Apply Loctite 648 on the thread of the ball and secure the new ball with the slotted nut by applying a tightening torque of 160 Nm The retainer should be pulled out completely at regular intervals depending on the schedule density and any dirt in the bearing has to be eliminated Both retainer pins must be removed beforehand for this purpo se Subsequently re grease the bearing If the vertical play of the hitched coupling exceeds 5 mm the appropriate parts must be replaced e g re tainer ball or ball type trailer shank 4 1 Safety notes e The user is obliged to always operate the coupling in perfect condition and to forbid its use by unau thorised persons e The loads indicated on the type plate may not be exceeded e Unauthorised conversion or modification of the coupling is not permitted
