1. 2 i ANGLE BRACKET 2 1 4 20 SCREW X 1 2 L 4 9 16 u 5 16 X 1 1 2 HEX BASIG FUNGTIONS OF THIS UNIT The 50 EXBC is designed as a blade cover and dust collection hood only It is intended for use on 10 model 50 EXBC 10 or 12 14 model 50 EXBC 14 tables saws along with your existing guard splitter or other anti kickback device If needed the rear lens may be removed or slit to accommodate other safety devices The unit is designed to connect to any 4 dust collection system to remove saw dust at the source directly above the blade The boom mount must be connected to the end of your table saw extension table and allows the blade cover to swing out of the way or to be completely removed as needed in a matter of sec onds for blade changes and or special cutting applications For ideal installation without modification a minimum distance from the end of your extension table to the blade of 39 3 4 is required The telescopic inner boom can be extended to accom modate a distance from the end of the extension table to the blade of 67 Fig 1 To securely attach to the end of an extension table a minimum 3 apron on the end of the extension table is required See Inset MOUNT THE HOOD ASSEMBLY TO THE INNER BOOM l Slide the hood assembly Q over the end of the inner boom leaving approximately 1 of the inner boom pro truding
2. 2 Swing the diagonal braces into position on the underside of the extension table Fig 16 3 Mark the hole placement and drill suitable holes to accomodate bolts or woodscrews Not included 4 Fasten the braces to the underside of the table Fig 17 FIT THE BOOM TO THE BOOM MOUNT CHANNEL l Place the boom hood assembly on the pivot pins located on the boom mount channel Fig 18 and swing the arm over the table 2 Secure the locking pin to hold the boom in position Fig 19 3 Loosen the boom clamp knob and extend the boom to position the hood assembly over the blade Fig 20 4 Lower the hood assembly into the down position over the blade Fig 21 and as needed adjust the boom mount channel position to roughly center the hood assembly over the blade 10 5 Tighten the mounting bolts and secure the boom mount channel in position on the extension table Fig 22 6 If you notice any sag or if the extension table is not level with the main table adjust the height of the support leg Fig 23 to support the added weight of the boom hood assembly 7 The diagonal braces can be tightened or loosened to allow the boom assembly to be levelled as needed by adjusting the nuts on the eye bolt Fig 23 ADJUSTMENTS 1 The resistance or balance of the swing arm assembly can be adjusted with the spring knob located on the rear of the swing arm assembly Fig 24 2 The hood may be locked in

6. past the mount Fig 2 2 Insert a 1 4 x 1 1 4 button head bolt through the two holes in the band clamp section of the mount on the under side Thread on a 1 4 lock nut and tighten Fig 3 INSTALL THE DUST HOSE Approximately 1 protruding for hose installation l Install the dust collection hose Q between the hood and the inner boom using the two supplied hose clamps as shown in Figure 4 UL EN DIAGONAL BRAGE ASSEMBLY 1 Spin a 1 4 hex nut onto each eyebolt Fig 5 2 Pass the eye bolts through the holes in the bent ends of the diagonal braces and secure the eye bolts to the diagonal braces using a lock washer and another nut Leave approxi mately 3 4 of the eye bolts protruding past the second nut Fig 6 3 Fasten the brace mount angle brackets to the eyebolts using a 1 4 x 3 4 flat head bolt lock washer and hex nut See Figure 7 for order of assembly Note Make sure the two assemblies are mirror image to each other Fig 8 and set fhe brace assemblies aside for now BOOM MOUNT ASSEMBLY 1 Insert the extension leg into the upper leg of the boom mount channel Q Fig 9 2 Use the two supplied lock knobs to secure the extension leg in the upper leg at the desired height Fig 10 Order of Assembly BOOM MOUNT CHANNEL INSTALLATION 1 Set the boom mount channel against the edge of your extension table lining up

9. any position by tightening the hood lock handle located on the right side of the hood Fig 25 Note It is recommended the hood be locked in the upper posi tion when removing or swinging the boom and hood assembly from the saw 3 The length of the telescoping boom may be adjusted by loos ening the boom clamp knob 9 and sliding the inner boom in or out as required Fig 26 Note Do not overtighten the clamp knob It takes little pres sure to clamp the boom securely 4 The bottom lock knob located on the boom mount channel may need to be adjusted Loosen the lock nut on the threaded lock pin and turn the handle in the desired direction to tighten or loosen the lock Fig 27 Note The pin needs to swing just past center to lock properly 5 To remove the boom assembly from the saw release the lock pin Fig 28 swing the boom assembly back and lift it off the pivot pins Fig 29 PARALLEL BOOM ADJUSTMENT l Adjust the hex head stop bolt in or out as needed to align the boom parallel to the front and back edges of the saw FIG 30 2 With the boom alignment set tighten down on the nut Q to secure the bolt in place CONNECTING TO A DUST COLLECTOR IN BEFORE STARTING THE TABLE SAW CONNECT TO A DUST COLLECTION SYSTEM IN ALWAYS TURN ON THE DUST COLLECTOR BEFORE STARTING THE TABLE SAW AND ALWAYS STOP THE TABLE SAW BEFORE TURNING OFF THE DUST COLLECTOR e Connect a 4 dust hose not in
