8. eplace mantel Install the insert in your fireplace close to its final position NOTE Use great care to move your completed unit Move it only short distances and use two people to move it into its final position Install Insert From Back Electric Fireplace Insert CAUTION Cold climate installation recommendation When installing this unit against a non insulated exterior wall or chase it is mandatory that the outer walls be insulated to conform to applicable insulation codes CAUTION A 15 Amp 120 V 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required Preferably the fireplace will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation The unit comes standard with 6 ft three wire cord exiting from the rear of the fireplace Avoid using an extension cord If an extension cord must be used it must be a minimum 14 AWG three wire with grounding type plug connector and rated not less than 1875 watts Do not use an extension cord more than 20 ft in length HAMPTONBAY COM Please contact 1 877 527 0313 for further assistance Operation j NOTE The control panel can be accessed at the upper right corner of the insert When a function is changed from the control panel or remote control there will be a corresponding indicator see Figure 1 on the up
9. eration The thermostat setting is preventing the heater from turning on Manual reset overheat protection triggered The heater is disabled There are no batteries or the signal is poor Check that the unit is plugged into a standard 120V outlet Press the Power button several times make sure power is set to the ON position Press the Flame button several times Check your heater cord and plug connections Faulty wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause the outlet or plug to overheat Be sure the plug fits tight in the outlet Heaters draw more current than small appliances overheating of the outlet may occur even if it has not occurred with the use of other appliances During use check frequently to determine if your plug outlet or faceplate is HOT If so discontinue use of the heater and have a qualified electrician check and or replace the faulty outlet s Adjust the temperature settings to ensure that the thermostat is set higher than the current room temperature Turn the Power to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes After 5 minutes plug the unit back into the wall out let and operate as normal If the problem persists contact customer service With the power on press and hold the Power button on the control panel for 10 seconds Once re enabled the ember bed lights will flash multiple times Change the remote batteries Operate the remote control at a slow m

13. ont Pane F Push Center Decorative Panel H snug to Left Front Panel D and Right Front Panel E Using Bolts AA and Washers BB attach panels through pre drilled holes in the mounting blocks HAND TIGHTEN ONLY Installing the Top Panel nsert one Wood Dowel CC into each of the pre drilled holes on the top edges of the Assembly from step 3 Then locate Mantel Top G and lay finished side up on top of completed assembly From the inside attach Mantel Top G using Bolts AA and Washers BB through the pre drilled holes in the mounting blocks HAND TIGHTEN ONLY Using Phillips head screwdriver tighten all Bolts alternating top and bottom left and right 6 Installing the inserts Loosen the preattached screw and remove the two mounting brackets attached to the back of the Left and Right Front panels Assembly continued 7 Installing fireplace insert Lift insert carefully into the back of the unit and center in the insert opening Do not drag insert across Hearth Base A as it may scratch your unit Replace the two Mounting Brackets and secure the insert in place by tightening the Mounting Bracket Screws and make sure insert is securely in place NOTE Please read all electric fireplace insert instructions prior to installing electric insert in your completed fir
