Screws Figure 19 Light Plate Figure 20 Operating Your Fan WAIT FOR FAN TO STOP BEFORE REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF THE BLADE ROTATION Turn on the power and check the operation of your fan There are two pull chains available in your fan 1 3 speed pull chain it controls the fan speed as follows 1 pull High 2 pulls Medium 3 pulls Low and 4 pulls Off Speed settings for warm or cool weather depend on factors such as the room size ceiling height number of fans and so on 2 Light kit pull chain it controls the light kit in ON or OFF The Reverse switch is located on the light kit assembly Figure 21 Slide the switch to the Left for warm weather operation Slide the switch to the Right for cool weather operation Figure 21 Warm weather Counter Clockwise direction A downward air flow creates a cooling effect as shown in Figure 22 This allows you to set your air conditioner on a higher setting without affecting your comfort Cool weather Clockwise direction An upward air flow moves warm air off the ceiling are as shown in Figure 23 This allows you to set your heating unit on a lower setting without affecting your comfort Figure 23 11 Care of Your Fan Here are some suggestions to help you maintain your fan l Because of the fan s natural movement some connections may become loose Check t
2. 10 Operating Your Fan 11 Care or Your Fan 12 Troubleshooting 12 Specifications 04 13 Warranty Information 14 Safety Rules Read and Save These Instructions To reduce the risk of electric shock insure electricity has been turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI NFPA 70 1999 and local electrical codes Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician WARNING To reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire do not use this fan with any solid state fan speed control device It will permanently damage the electronic circuitry CAUTION To reduce the risk of personal injury use only the screws provided with the outlet box The outlet box and support structure must be securely mounted and capable of reliably supporting a minimum of 35 pounds Use only UL Listed outlet boxes marked FOR FAN SUPPORT The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 feet clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor Avoid placing objects in path of the blades To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items be cautious when working around or cleaning the fan Do not use water or detergents when cleaning the fan or fan blades A dry dust cloth or lightly dampened cloth will be suitable for most cleaning 10 Af

Note You may need a longer downrod to maintain proper blade clearance when installing on a steep sloped ceiling The maximum angle allowable is 18 If the canopy touches downrod remove the decorative canopy bottom cover and turn the canopy 180 before attaching the canopy to the mounting plate IT Outlet Box Figure 4 To hang your fan where there is an existing fixture but no ceiling joist you may need an installation hanger bar as shown in Figure 4 available at any Home Depot store 3 Hanging the Fan REMEMBER to turn off the power Follow the steps below to hang your fan properly 1 Remove the canopy cover from the canopy by turning the cover counter clockwise Figure 5 Remove the hanger bracket from the canopy by removing the non slotted screws from the bottom of the hanger bracket and loosening the other one a half turn from the screw head Next turn the canopy counter clockwise to removing the hanger bracket from the canopy Figure 5 Remove the clevis pin cotter pin and set screws from the top of the motor assembly Figure 6 Remove hanger ball from downrod assembly by loosening set screw removing the cross pin and sliding ball offrod Figure 7 Carefully feed motor wires up through the downrod Thread the rod into the coupling Next line up holes and replace cotter pin and clevis pin Tighten set screws Figure 8 Slip coupling cover canopy cover and canopy onto d

9. bracket as shown in Figure 11 Install the hanger bracket on the outlet box with the screws and washers provided with your outlet box Figure 11 Security tighten the two mounting screws Carefully lift the fan assembly up to the hanger bracket and seat the hanger ball in the bracket socket Make sure the tab on the hanger bracket socket is properly seated in the groove in the hanger ball Figure 12 This will help to balance the ceiling fan UL Listed Outlet Box Hanger Bracket Mounting Screws Supplied with Electrical Box Figure 11 Figure 12 THE TAB IN THE RING MUST REST IN THE GROOVE OF THE HANGER BALL AS FIGURE 12 FAILURE TO PROPERLY SEAT THE TAB IN THE GROOVE COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO WIRING Making the Electrical Connections REMEMBER to disconnect the power If you feel you do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or experience have your fan installed by a licensed electrician Follow the steps below to connect the fan to your household wiring Use the wire nuts supplied with your fan Secure the wire nuts with electrical tape Make sure there are no loose strands or connections 1 Connect the ground conductor of the 120V supply this may be a bare wire or a wire with green colored insulation to the green ground lead s of the fan Figure 13 Connect the fan motor white wire to the supply white neutral wire using a wire nut Figure 13 Connect the fan motor
10. e 1 of 3 screws from the swith housing mounting plate and loosen the other 2 screws Do not remove While holding the light plate under your fan connect the white wire connectors from the light plate and switch housing follow the same procedure with the black wire connectors Fig 19 Carefully push all wires back into the switch housing Place the key holes on the light plate over the 2 screws previously loosened from the switch housing mounting plate turn the light kit assembly until it locks in place at the narrow section of the key holes Secure by tightening the 2 screws previously loosened and the one previously removed Fig 19 Install 1 x 13 watts compact fluorescent bulb included into the light sockets NOTE CFL bulbs are NOT dimmable Raise glass shade up against light plate and secure it to fan by twisting glass clockwise until snug Do not overtighten Fig 20 10 Loosen the 4 screws from the edge of light plate Do not remove Place the key holes on the glass frame over the 4 screws previously loosened from the light plate turn the glass frame until it locks in place at the narrow section of the key holes Secure by tightening the 4 screws Fig 20 7 Restore power and your light kit is ready for operation LIGHT BULBS HAVE NO WARRANTY CAN BE PURCHASED AT ANY HOME DEPOT STORE Glass Shade Switch Housing Mounting Plate Glass Frame Light Plate gt 4 lt
11. he support connections brackets and blade attachments twice a year Make sure they are secure It is not necessary to remove fan from ceiling Clean your fan periodically to help maintain its new appearance over the years Use only a soft brush or lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing Do not use water when cleaning This could damage the motor or the wood or possibly cause an electrical shock You can apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood blades for additional protection and enhanced beauty Cover small scratches with a light application of shoe polish There is no need to oil your fan The motor has permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings 12 Troubleshooting SOLUTION PROBLEM Fan will not start Fan sounds noisy 1 2 Check main and branch circuit fuses or breakers Check line wire connections to the fan and switch wire connections in the switch housing Make sure all motor housing screws are snug Make sure the screws that attach the fan blade holder to the motor hub is tight Make sure wire nut connections are not rattling against each other or the interior wall of the switch housing CAUTION Make sure main power is off Allow a 24 hour breaking in period Most noises associated with a new fan disappear during this time Ifusing the ceiling light kit make sure the screws securing t
