1. To reduce the risk of electric shock insure electricity has been turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code ANSI NFPA 70 1999 and local electrical codes Electrical installation should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician WARNING To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not use this fan with any solid state speed control device CAUTION To reduce the risk of personal injury use only the screws provided with the outlet box The outlet box and support structure must be securely mounted and capable of reliably supporting 35 lbs 15 9 kg Use only UL Listed outlet boxes marked Acceptable for Fan Support of 35 lbs 15 9 kg or less WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE ELECTRIC SHOCK OR PERSONAL INJURY MOUNT TO OUTLET BOX MARKED ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT OF 35LBS 15 9 KG OR LESS AND USE SCREWS PRO VIDED WITH THE OUTLET BOX The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 feet clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor Do not operate reversing switch while fan blades are in mo tion Fan must be turned off and blades stopped before re versing blade direction Avoid placing objects in path of the blades 9 To avoid personal injury or damage to the fan and other items be cautious when working around or cleaning the fan Do not use water or detergen2. 2 Connect the wires exiting the light kit brack NOTE ALLOW THE BULBS TO COOL et below the fan motor with the wires from COMPLETELY BEFORE TOUCHING OR the light kit switch cup black to blue and REPLACING THE BULBS TO AVOID ACCI white to white Figure 12 DENTAL BURNING OF THE SKIN 3 Carefully push all the wires into the light kit DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE FINIAL switch cup OVERTIGHTENING THE FINIAL MAY CAUSE THE GLASS TO BREAK Figure 11 s Light Kit Bracket Blue Black ounting Screws Light Kit Sockets en Bulbs Glass Shade gt Rubber Washer Hex Nut Finial Figure 12 Blade Balancing All blades are grouped by weight Because nat ural woods vary in density the fan may wobble even though the blades are weight matched The following procedure should correct most fan wobble Check after each step 1 Check that all blade and blade bracket screws are secure 2 Most fan wobble problems are caused when blade levels are unequal Check this level by selecting a point on the ceiling above the tip of one of the blades Measure from a point on the center of each blade to the point on the ceiling Measure this distance as shown in Figure 13 Rotate the fan until the next blade is positioned for measurement Repeat for each blade Measurement deviations should within 1 8 Run the fan for 10 minutes 3 If the fan continues to wobble please contact Customer Service and a balacing kit will be s

10. with screws supplied Figure 6 Top Light Kit Plate Blade Blade Bracket Assembly Hole For Blade Bracket Insert Figure 6 5 Repeat steps 1 4 for the remaining blades Hanging the Fan REMEMBER to tum off the pow er Follow the steps below to hang your fan properly NOTE This fan is recommended for the stan dard ceiling mounting using the downrod with ball and socket mounting When using stan dard ceiling installation the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan blades will be approximately 16 inches THE FAN MUST BE MOUNTED WITH A MINIMUM OF 7 FEET CLEARANCE FROM THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE BLADES TO THE FLOOR IF YOU FEEL THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ELECTRICAL WIRING KNOWL EDGE OR EXPERIENCE HAVE YOUR FAN INSTALLED BY A LICENSED ELEC TRICIAN 1 Remove the canopy ring from the canopy by turning the ring to the right until it unlocks Figure 7 Turn Canopy Ring To Remove Figure 7 2 Remove the mounting plate from the canopy by loosening the four screws on the top of the canopy Remove the two non slotted screws and loosen the slotted screws This will enable you to remove the mounting plate Figure 8 Loosen But Do Not Remove Figure 8 3 Route the wires exiting the top of the fan motor through the decorative glass housing Then route the wires through the canopy ring and then the canopy Continue by rout ing the wires through the ball downrod as sembly Figure
