Counterclockwise Direction A downward air flow creates a cooling effect This allows you to set your air conditioner on a warmer setting without affecting your comfort Cool weather Clockwise Direction An upward air flow moves warm air off the ceiling This allows you to set your heating unit on a cooler setting without affecting your comfort Ls N Gr N lt 2 cS T E 7 HAMPTONBAY COM Please contact 1 877 527 0313 for further assistance Care and Cleaning Do Check the support connections brackets and blade attachments twice a year Make sure they are secure Because of the fan s natural movement some connections may become loose over time It is not necessary to remove the fan from the ceiling Do not Use water when cleaning Water could damage the motor or the wood or possibly cause an electrical shock Apply oil to your fan or motor The motor has permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings Clean your fan periodically Use only a soft brush or lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing Optional Apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood blades Optional Cover small scratches with a light application of shoe polish Troubleshooting WARNING Make sure the power is off at the electrical

Fasten the blade assemblies to the fan motor assembly E by lining up the slots of the blade arms UU with the tabs on the motor VV Tighten the two blade arm screws and lock washers FF already installed in the blade arms D Repeat this procedure for the remaining blade arms D 11 HAMPTONBAY COM Please contact 1 877 527 0313 for further assistance Attaching the light kit mounting plate to the mounting ring CAUTION Before starting installation disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse at the fuse box Turning power off using the fan switch is not sufficient to prevent electric shock Remove one of three light kit mounting plate screws GG from the mounting ring WW and loosen the other two screws GG Do not remove Place the key holes in the light kit mounting plate F over the two screws GG previously loosened from the mounting ring WW and turn the light kit mounting plate F until the light kit mounting plate F locks in place at the narrow section of the key holes Secure by tightening the two light kit mounting plate screws GG previously loosened and the one GG previously removed 9 12 Assembly Installing the Light Kit Finishing the light kit assembly and attaching the glass shades While holding the light kit assembly

G under your fan snap together the wire connection plugs Carefully push all wires back into the switch housing then install the light kit G assembly onto the mounting plate F with the four light kit mounting screws HH provided Be sure to tighten all screws Mount the glass shades H to the light sockets by unscrewing partway the three light holder thumbscrews Il on each glass holder Insert the glass shades H then gently tighten the thumbscrews Il by hand evenly to the glass shades H Do not overtighten Install the three GOW candelabra bulbs JJ included Operation PULL CHAIN OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Attach the two pull chains and fobs KK to the pull chains located on the light kit G Turn on the power and check the operation of the fan The pull chain controls the fan speed as follows 1 pull High 2 pulls Medium 3 pulls Low and 4 pulls Off Speed settings for warm or cool weather depend on factors such as the room size ceiling height number of fans and so on To turn the light kit on or off pull the chain KK that is attached to the light kit G REVERSE SWITCH OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The reverse switch is located on the top of the motor housing Slide the switch to the left for warm weather operation Slide the switch to the right for cool weather operation NOTE Wait for the fan to stop before reversing the direction of the blade rotation Warm weather

13. sible at the wire WARNING Check to see that all connections are tight nuts except for the ground wire Optional use of any light kit shall be UL listed and marked WARNING Electrical diagrams are for reference only suitable for use with this fan WARNING To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not use this fan with any solid state speed control device If you feel you do not have enough electrical wiring knowledge or experience have your fan installed by a licensed electrician Follow the steps below to connect the fan to your household wiring Use the plastic wire nuts BB with your fan Secure the wire nuts BB with electrical tape Make sure there are no loose strands or connections Connect the ground conductor TT of the 120V supply this may be a bare wire or a wire with green colored insulation to the green ground lead s QQ of the fan Connect the fan motor white wire PP to the supply white neutral wire SS using a plastic wire nut BB Connect the fan motor black wire 00 and the blue wire NN to the supply black hot wire RR using a plastic wire nut BB Turn the wire nut connections upward spreading them apart so the green ground wire QQ will be on one side of the outlet box LL and the white PP black 00 and blue NN wires will be on the other side and push carefully up into the outlet box LL RR
14. ss TT BB HAMPTONBAY COM Please contact 1 877 527 0313 for further assistance Assembly Hanging the Fan continued 4 Finishing the fan installation Move the fan motor assembly B into position over the four mounting bracket A studs and secure with the provided washers EE and nuts DD Attaching the motor housing to the mounting bracket Raise the motor housing E up against the mounting bracket A The four supports inside the motor housing E should be placed against the four studs on the mounting bracket A Twist the motor housing E clockwise until snug Assembly Attaching the Fan Blades 6 Attaching the blades to the blade arms Attach the blades C to the blade arms D using the three blade attachment screws and fiber washers AA Start a screw and fiber washer AA into the blade arm D but do not tighten Repeat for the two remaining blade attachment screws and fiber washers AA Tighten each screw securely starting with the center screw Make sure the blade C is straight Repeat these steps for the remaining blades C Fastening the blade assemblies to the motor WARNING To reduce the risk of personal injury do not bend the blade arms D while installing balancing the blades C or cleaning the fan Do not insert foreign objects between rotating fan blades C
