1. gt c fed Q a x lt t oO O O xe STEP 2 Secure mounting bar A to outlet box with outlet box screws not supplied Thread nut B on nipple C so that 3 threads are exposed above nut B Thread nipple C into mounting bar A and secure with nut B Attach collar E to nipple C STEP 3 Using 2 pairs of pliers or chain breaks open one link of chain J and connect it to the fixture loop K at the top of the fixture Please be sure to open chain link in an outward motion Do not twist STEP 4 Slide the collar ring I and canopy H in that order over chain J Open one link on the other end of the chain J and attach it to the collar E BE SURE TO CLOSE ALL CHAIN LINKS COMPLETELY Line art shown may not exactly match the fixture enclosed However the installation instructions do apply to this fixture Fill in Item Number on Carton and File This Sheet For Future Reference ITEM HOUSE GROUND WIRE WIRE gt CONNECTORS QUTLET BOX SCREWS NIPPLE C COLLAR E GLASS RETAINING RING L gt FIGURE 1 HC 1581 090809 QUTLET BOX MOUNTING BAR A NUT B GROUND WIRE F CANOPY H COLLAR RING I CHAIN J FIXTURE LOOP K SHADE 6 NOT INCLUDED INSTALLATION continued HC 1581 STEP 5 A Use a listed wire connector to connect the fixture hot wire black wire or round and smooth tracer to the supply hot wire B Use a2. listed wire connector to connect the fixture common wire white wire or square and rigid to the supply common wire C Gently try to remove the wires from the connector If you can remove the wires carefully re do the wiring connection STEP 6 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS Connect the supply ground wire fixture ground wire and mounting bar ground wire pre attached using the supplied wiring connector Gently try to remove the wires from the connector If you can remove the wires carefully re do the wiring connection FINAL ASSEMBLY Make sure no bare wires can be seen outside wire connectors After wires are connected tuck them carefully inside outlet box and then raise the canopy H against ceiling and thread the collar ring I to the collar E Raise shade G to socket and secure by threading glass retaining ring L onto socket Install self ballasted lamp O by twisting into socket P MARK MEANS LAMP CONTAINS MERCURY FOLLOW DISPOSAL LAWS SEE WWW LAMPRECYCLE ORG FIXTURES WITH A ONE PIECE LAMP BALLAST COMBINATION SELF BALLASTED gt _ SOCKET P gt C D j FIGURE 2
