H Neutral i Copper Ground american lighting association2. 1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS For Model 4396 573 amp 77 READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARNING SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE Fig 3 Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove old fixture including the crossbar Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation Thread fixture loop I onto stud of the fixture until tight Put glass L to the fixture arm M inward adjust the hole of them to align the holes then secure them by threading the eight screws K with plastic washer J until snug Install the bulbs in accordance with the fixture s specification DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING HANGING THE FIXTURE Fig 1 6 7 10 11 12 13 Thread nipple C into loop E until snug Place lock washer B over end of nipple C protruding through crossbar F and thread hex nut A onto nipple C until tight Take this crossbar F assembly and mount to ceiling outlet box with outlet box screws G Tighten screws securely with screwdriver The side of the crossbar marked GND must face out Use a pair of pliers to open one end link of the chain provided and connects to the fixture loop I Close the link By measuring determine correct number of links needed for proper hanging height Using pliers disconnect and discard remaining chain Lace the fixture wires
3. through the chain Slip loop collar H over the chain then do the same with canopy D Open the other end link of the chain and connects to the loop E Close the link Feed the fixture wires through the loop E and nipple C and pull until taut CONNECTING THE WIRES Fig 2 14 15 At this point connect the electrical wires as follow Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black house hot wire Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white neutral house wire Make sure all wire nuts are secured You may wrap the connections with electrical tape If your outlet has a ground wire green or bare copper connects fixture s ground wire to it Otherwise connect fixture s ground wire directly to the crossbar using the green screw provided Tuck these wire connections neatly into the ceiling outlet box and then raise the canopy D all the way to the ceiling Raise the lock collar H and thread onto ceiling loop E protruding through canopy D Your installation is now complete Return power to the junction box and test the fixture Minka Lighting Inc This product is protected by United States Federal and or State Law including Patent and or Copyright laws OUTLET BOX CEILING Fig 2 j i FIXTURE C gt i FIXTURE gt i FIXTURE gt i WIRES WIRES Black or Co White or C i Bare Smooth A i Ribbed a Copper X i Ground WIRES White
