QUTLET BOX    SCREWS  CHAIN  S   NOT INCLUDED                                FIXTURE LOOP  1   FLUSH  CANOPY  2         gt    CAP NUTS  Y     DECORATIE sea gull lighting     Installation And  Safety Instruction    BOTTOM   DIFFUSER  0  H C  1 3 04 031108    NIPPLE  M            gt      qD  NUT  amp  LOCKWASHER  P  Fill In Item Number On Carton And    FIGURE 1 FINIAL  L  SS  NOT SUPPLIED File This Sheet For Fixture Reference  ITEM     INSTALLATION HC 1304    IMPORTANT  DO NOT ATTACH FIXTURE DIRECTLY TO OUTLET  OX     FOR CHAIN HUNG    STEP 1     Secure mounting bar  A  to outlet box with outlet box screws  not  supplied   Thread nut  B  on nipple  C  so that 5 threads are exposed  above nut  B   Thread nipple  C  into mounting bar  A  and secure  with nut  B   Thread screw collar  E  to nipple  C      STEP 2     Using 2 pairs of pliers  open one link of chain  S  and connect it to  the fixture loop  I  at the top of the fixture     STEP 3     Slide the screw collar ring  G  and canopy  H   in that order  over  chain  S   Open one link on the other end of the chain  S  and  attach it to the screw collar  E  which has been mounted to the  ceiling nipple  C     BE SURE TO CLOSE ALL CHAIN LINKS COMPLETELY     FOR FLUSH MOUNT    STEP 1     Thread mounting screws  K  into offset mounting bar  N   Run  mounting screws  K  all the way down to their heads  Secure offset  mounting bar  N  to the outlet box  raised side to top as illustrated   using outlet box screws  not suppli

INSTALLATION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS    IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ASSEMBLY       Be sure the electricity to the system you are working on is turned Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and check that all parts  off  either the fuse removed or the circuit breaker set at off  are included  as shown in Figure 1  amp  2  Be careful not to misplace  Use of other manufacturers components will void warranty  listing any of the screws or parts which are needed to install this fixture     and create a potential safety hazard   To reduce the risk of fire  electric shock  or personal injury  mount to STEP 1   outlet box or supporting system able to support the weight of the Thread fixture loop  I  to fixture  if applicable      fixture     If you are unclear as to how to proceed  contact a qualified  electrician     You don   t need special tools to install this fixture   Be sure to follow the steps in the order given     Under no circumstances should a fixture be hung on house electrical  wires  nor should a swag type fixture be installed on a ceiling which  contains a radiant type heating system     Read instructions carefully   Save these instructions     GROUNDING AND MOUNTING  BAR LOCK UP  FLUSH MOUNT      OUTLET BOX             GROUND WIRE   NUT  B  Ee    QUIET Box GROU  SCREWS WWE  NIPPLE  C  5 J    lt        CONNECTORS    GREEN    GROUNDING OFFSET    CANOPY  H  SCREW  D  MOUNTING  BAR    N  SCREW COLLAR  E  m  MOUNTING  SCREW COLLAR SCREWS  K   RING  G  FIGURE 2   lt

4. ed      STEP 2     Remove fixture loop  I  from flush canopy  Z   Feed fixture wires  through center of flush canopy  Z   Secure flush canopy  Z  to fixture  by installing lock washer and nut over center nipple     STEP 1     A  Take note of the color of the wire s  on your fixture  Identify which  group your fixture wire s  falls into and connect the wires according  to the directions below     GROUP A  CONNECT TO BLACK GROUP B  CONNECT TO WHITE  HOUSE WIRE HOUSE WIRE    BLACK WHITE  _         PARALLEL WIRE  ROUND  amp  SMOOTH  PARALLEL WIRE  SQUARE  amp  RIDGED   CET          Note  When parallel wire is used  the tracer wire is square shaped  or ridged and less tracer wire is round in shape or smooth     Seen best when viewed from wire end   To separate wires  grasp  the ends of each wire and pull apart    B  Take your fixture wire s  from group A and place evenly against  the black wire from the outlet box  DO NOT twist wires together  before using wire connectors    C  Fit a wire connector  not supplied  over the wires and thread the  connector clockwise until you feel a firm resistance    D  Gently try to remove the wires from the connector  If you can  remove the wires  carefully re do steps B and C  as above and  check again for a firm connection    E  Connect the fixture wire from group B to the white wire from the  outlet box in the same manner     STEP 2     GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS  The green grounding screw  D  is  to be inserted into the hole with two raised dimple
5. s provided on the  mounting bar  A   Wrap the ground wire  F  from the fixture and the  ground wire from the outlet box  bare metal or green insulated  wire  around the green grounding screw  D  on the mounting bar   A  if uninsulated wire is on the mounting bar  A   connect the  ground wire  F  from the fixture and the outlet box to it using a  small wire connector  not supplied     NEVER CONNECT GROUND WIRE TO BLACK OR WHITE  POWER SUPPLY WIRES     FINAL ASSEMBLY  Make sure no bare wires can be seen outside wire connectors   STEP 1  CHAIN HUNG ONLY    After wires are connected  tuck them carefully inside outlet box and  then raise the canopy  H  against ceiling and thread the screw collar  ring  G  to the screw collar  E      STEP 2  FLUSH MOUNT ONLY    Place flush canopy  Z  to ceiling so mounting screws  K  are  obstructed and secure by threading cap nuts  Y  to mounting  screws  K      STEP 3    Install lamps   STEP 4    Place decorative ring  X  on top of diffuser  O    STEP 5     Raise diffuser  O  over bottom nipple  M  and secure by threading  nut and lock washer  P  and finial  L  to bottom nipple  M      CLEANING    To clean  wipe fixture with a soft cloth  Clean glass with a mild soap   Do not use abrasive materials such as scouring pads or powders     n  a  D  2     fe       o     se   a  2  se   o    lt   0   ne   tev   ne   D  Ta    ORDERING PARTS    Keep this sheet for future reference  and in case you need to order  replacement parts  Parts for this fixture c
