1. The cord to this appliance should only be plugged into a 120 V AC electrical wall outlet 23 Do not use this appliance in an unstable position SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY PARTS IDENTIFICATION BEFORE FIRST USE Lid Handle Tempered Glass Lid with venting hole 5 Qt Chafing Dish Temperature Control Dial Chafing Dish Base 1 Carefully unpack the Chafing Dish and remove all packaging and materials Remove any label from the stainless steel surface 2 Set the Chafing Dish base on a dry clean and flat surface 3 Place the Chafing Dish into the base then add 2 cups water to the Chafing Dish Add the lid 4 Plug the cord into 120 V AC electrical outlets 5 Turn the temperature control dial to HIGH Allow the Chafing Dish to heat 10 minutes NOTE When the Chafing Dish is heated for the first time it may emit slight smoke or door This is normal and should disappear This will not affect the safety of the appliance 6 Using a protective oven mitt or potholder grasp lid and set aside Discard the water Rinse and dry add lid and store until ready for use IMPORTANT When setting the serving area include an oven mitt or potholder to grasp the lid a clear area to set the lid and a long handled utensil to serve food from the Chafing Dish NOTE Food placed in the Chafing Dish should already be cooked and hot Keep the lid in place remove only to serve The Chafing Dish is designed to keep
2. food warm only it cannot be used to cook foods WARNING The Chafing Dish base is not designed to keep large deep pots full of food or liquids warm IMPORTANT DO NOT IMMERSE THE SLOW COOKER BASE IN WATER PLEASE NOTE The initial 15 minutes of use may result in minimal smell and smoke This is normal and harmless and comes from the protective substance applied to the heating elements during manufacturing OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Set the Chafing Dish base on a dry clean and flat surface 2 Place the Chafing Dish into the Chafing Dish base 3 Add hot cooked food to the Chafing Dish Add the lid CAUTION Do not fill the Chafing Dish more than 34 full with food 4 Adda long handled utensil next to the Chafing Dish for serving 5 Plug the power supply cord into a 120 V AC electrical outlet 6 Turn the temperature control dial to the desired heating level HIGH 158 F 70 C MED 140 F 60 C LOW 122 F 50 C 7 Using an oven mitt or a potholder grasp the lid and set it aside Serve food from the Chafing Dish using a long handled spoon or ladle ALWAYS replace lid after serving 8 Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and remove plug from electrical outlet when not in use 9 Allow unit to cool completely before cleaning NOTE Foods containing little or no liquid should be stirred occasionally CAUTION To avoid dried out or off flavors do not leave food on the Chafing Dish base for extended periods
3. of time or when not in fuse IMPORTANT Always use the Chafing Dish base handles to move the Chafing Dish CARE amp MAINTENANCE Always make sure the temperature control dial turned to OFF the Chafing Dish is unplugged and the Chafing Dish base is cool before attempting to clean Using the handles remove the Chafing Dish from the Chafing Dish base Hand wash the stainless steel Chafing Dish and lid in warm soapy water Dry with a soft cloth NOTE The Chafing Dish is dishwater safe Wipe the lid and exterior with a dry cloth NOTE The lid is dishwater safe Wipe the Chafing Dish base with a damp cloth to remove superficial stains Then shine with a dry cloth For stubborn stains partially fill the Chafing Dish with hot water and add to the Chafing Dish base Plug the Chafing Dish into a 120 V AC electrical outlet turn the temperature control dial to LOW and allow to soak for 5 to 10 minutes Use a wooden spoon to remove burnt particles If necessary use a nylon or plastic pad a small amount of any good stainless steel cleanser to clean difficult areas IMPORTANT Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers WARNING NEVER IMMERSE THE CHAFING DISH BASE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUID Rinse well Dry thoroughly shine with a dry cloth STORING INSTRUCTIONS Turn the temperature control dial to OFF and remove plug from electrical outlet Store the Chafing Dish Chafing Dish lid and base in its box or in a cool dry
