Pp TECHNICAL DATA ATO 11 DESCRIPTION AND USES Rust Oleum Metallic Engine Enamel is designed for use on automotive engines and other automotive surfaces which may reach intermittent temperatures of 650 F 343 C Rust Oleum Metallic Engine Enamel features an advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any angle even upside down for those hard to reach areas A comfort spray tip with a wider finger pad reduces fatigue caused by continuous spraying PRODUCTS SKU Description 257384 Gold Flake 257388 Burnt Copper 257386 Titanium Silver 260750 Blackknight PAINTING APPLICATION PAINTING CONDITIONS Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open garage Use when temperature is between 50 90 F 10 32 C and humidity is below 85 to ensure proper drying Do not apply to galvanized metal Avoid spraying in very windy and dusty conditions Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist SURFACE PREPARATION Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper Clean with soap and water rinse and let dry WARNING If you scrape sand or remove old paint you may release lead dust LEAD IS TOXIC EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control lead exposure Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop Before you start find out how to protect yourself a
3. nd your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1 800 424 LEAD or log on to www eps gov lead PRIMING Use of a Rust Oleum 249340 High Heat Primer provides added corrosion protection and promotes adhesion and is especially recommended for bare metal surfaces AUTOMOTIVE METALLIC ENGINE ENAMEL PRODUCT APPLICATION cont APPLICATION Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN Contact Rust Oleum Shake often during use Hold can upright 10 16 from surface and spray in a steady back and forth motion slightly overlapping each stroke Keep the can in motion while spraying Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart Do not use near open flame DRY amp RECOAT Dry and recoat times are based on 70 F and 50 relative humidity Allow more time at cooler temperatures Dries to the touch in 20 minutes and to dries handle in 1 hour Apply a second coat or Clear coat within 1 hour or after 24 hours Wait 7 days for the paint to fully cure CLEAN UP Wipe off tip when finished Clean up wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits Properly discard empty container Do not burn or place in home trash compactor CLOGGING If the valve clogs twist and pull off spray tip and rinse ina solvent such as mineral spirits Do not insert any object into can valve opening Form GDH 425 Rev 081114 TECHNICAL DATA AUTOMOTIVE
