1. CopyCentre C35 C45 C55 Upgrade Procedure Purpose The purpose of this document is to enable System Administrators to upgrade a CopyCentre from version 2 97 20 000 or later to version 2 98 50 000 The upgrade process will take up to half an hour The CopyCentre will be unavailable during this time Please make sure that the CopyCentre is free of faults and jams before starting any part of the upgrade Upgrade Requirements To perform this upgrade the following will be required 1 APC with the Xerox Utilities Tool version 03 00 0012 installed By default there will be an icon called Software Upgrade on the desktop A copy of the Xerox Utilities is supplied with each CopyCentre machine in the left hand side pocket Updates are available from www xerox com 2 The DC_02 98 50 000 bot c ugd upgrade file accessible on the same PC 3 A type A gt B USB cable of 1 5m length or less Upgrade Process 1 Plug the USB cable from a USB port on the PC into the back of the CopyCentre 2 Power on the CopyCentre 3 On the PC start the Software Upgrade tool and click on Select File button 4 When the browser window appears select the file DC_02 98 50 000 bot c ugd 5 Select Upgrade to confirm you want to install this software version This stage may take up to 15 minutes during which the progress will be indicated both on the CopyCentre screen and on the utilities tool 6 Once the upgrade is complete the Software Upgrade too2. l will display the Upgrade Status Report which should display Software Upgrade Successful against the different modules with no failures Some modules may show Software Upgrade Not Required this is normal Close the tool by clicking on OK 7 The system will automatically reboot The message Restoring Configuration Settings Please Wait will then be displayed Wait until Ready to scan your job message is displayed 8 Ifa fax card is fitted check that the fax screen appears when the fax tab is selected If not power the machine off on 9 Confirm the new software version by pressing the Machine Status hard key the lowest blue button on the right hand side of the machine user interface screen then selecting the Machine Details button Check the System Software Version is now 2 98 50 000 The CopyCentre is now ready for use For further information troubleshooting please refer to http www support xerox com Other Tips about Xerox multifunction devices are available at the following URL http www office xerox com support dctips dctips html Copyright c 2007 Xerox Ltd All Rights Reserved Rev 01 Author Ed Wilson Date Time 1 Mar 07 09 22
