1. ep Wi Ex zBoost Extending Cell Zones YX699 Signal Meter Preparing the YX699 Signal Meter for use Remove 3 screws from the back of the case to unsecure battery compartment remove the cover install 3 AA batteries replace cover and reinstall screws To measure signal strength Attach the supplied rubber whip antenna to the connector at the top of the meter Turn on the meter with the power switch on the side of the signal meter After a few seconds the meter will indicate the received signal strength on the display Select the desired band by pressing the BAND button on the front of the meter The LED will light green for the CEL band 800 MHz or orange for the PCS band 1900 MHz Pressing the BAND button again will toggle the meter between the CEL and PCS bands The meter will now indicate the received signal strength of the selected band A greater number indicates a stronger signal As you move about the meter will indicate the received signal strength Turn off the meter when not in use to maximize battery life To measure directional antenna signal strength 1 Disconnect the supplied whip antenna from the top of the signal meter 2 Attach the supplied coax cable and connect the directional antenna to the signal meter 2008 Wi Ex Turn on the meter with the power switch on the side of the signal meter After a few seconds the meter will indicate the received signal strength on the displ2. ay Select the desired band by pressing the BAND button on the front of the meter The LED will light green for the CEL band 800 MHz or orange for the PCS 1900 MHz band Pressing the BAND button again will toggle the meter between the CEL and PCS bands The meter will now indicate the received signal strength of the selected band A greater number indicates a stronger signal The directional antenna may be peaked for the strongest signal by turning the antenna and observing the display on the meter Turn the antenna until the strongest signal greatest number is found Disconnect the cable and antenna and turn off the meter when not in use to maximize battery life NOTE To switch between the default numeric display 0 to 99 and the alternate dBm display 99 to 10 dBm press and hold the BAND button for 10 seconds then release zBoost Professional Signal Meter Product Specifications Frequency downlink 1930 1990MHz 1900 MHz 869 894 MHz 800 MHz Signal Indicator Display LED numeric display 0 99 default or dBm display 99dBM to 10dBm Connectors RF SMA female PCS and CEL RF input Battery not included 3 standard AA 1 5VDC batteries 8 10 hours Base Unit Size 2 x 4 x 1 Operating Conditions 0 to 50 C 32 to 122 F Storage Conditions 30 to 125 C 22 to 257 F 2008 Wi Ex
