The OVEN HEATING light will turn off and COOL appears in the display Once the oven goes below the locked temperature the OVEN ON light flashes and DOOR LOCKED CLEANING light turns off when door unlocks 3 Turn the oven control knob to OFF when finished cleaning The OVEN ON light turns off and the time of day appears in the display 14 IMPORTANT Before cleaning make sure all controls are off and the oven and cooktop are cool Always follow label instructions on cleaning products Soap water and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested first unless otherwise noted CONTROL PANEL Do not use abrasive cleaners steel wool pads gritty wash cloths or some paper towels Damage may occur m Glass cleaner and soft cloth or sponge Apply glass cleaner to soft cloth or sponge not directly on panel EXTERIOR PORCELAIN ENAMEL SURFACES on some models Food spills containing acids such as vinegar and tomato should be cleaned as soon as the entire appliance is cool These spills may affect the finish m Glass cleaner mild liquid cleaner or non abrasive scrubbing pad Gently clean around the model and serial number plate because scrubbing may remove numbers STAINLESS STEEL on some models Do not use soap filled scouring pads abrasive cleaners steel wool pads gritty wash cloths or some paper towels Damage may occur Do not use Cooktop Polishing Creme Rub in direction of grain to avoid damaging m Stainle
7. 5 seconds 2 Press the up or down arrow pads to increase or to decrease the temperature in 5 F amounts The adjustment can be set between 35 F and 35 F 3 Press CLOCK to enter the new temperature 10 To Adjust Oven Temperature Calibration on models with manual oven control 1 2 e gt Make sure the oven temperature control knob is in the OFF position Pull oven temperature control knob straight off and turn it over Loosen the locking screws inside the oven temperature control knob 1 Locking Screws 2 Notches Adjust temperature To lower the temperature hold the knob handle firmly and turn skirt counterclockwise to move the tooth a notch to the left To raise the temperature hold the knob handle firmly and turn the skirt clockwise to move the tooth a notch to the right Each notch equals about 5 F 1 Notches 2 Tooth 3 Skirt Tighten the locking screws and replace knob BEFORE USING Odors are normal when the range is new This happens the first time the oven is used IMPORTANT The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off Exposure to the fumes may result in death to certain birds Always move birds to another closed and well OVEN USE IMPORTANT Do not line the oven bottom with any type of foil liners or cookware because permanent damage will occur to the oven bottom finish m Do not cover entire rack with foil because air must

18. gh temperatures foods react with porcelain Staining etching pitting or faint white spots can result This will not Place up to 9 patties equally spaced on broiler grid affect cooking performance 13 How the Cycle Works IMPORTANT The heating and cooling of porcelain on steel in the oven may result in discoloring loss of gloss hairline cracks and popping sounds The Self Cleaning cycle uses very high temperatures burning soil to a powdery ash The oven is preset for a 3 hour 30 minute clean cycle but the time can be changed Suggested clean times are 2 hours 30 minutes for light soil and between 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes for average to heavy soil Once the oven has completely cooled remove ash with a damp cloth To Self Clean Before self cleaning make sure the door is closed completely or it will not lock and the cycle will not begin DOOR LOCKED CLEANING light will flash until the door is closed 1 Push in and turn the oven control knob to CLEAN The door will lock within 6 seconds and OVEN ON and OVEN HEATING indicator lights will come on If the door does not lock it will try to lock for 1 minute If the door fails to lock the self cleaning cycle will be canceled and an error code will be displayed 2 Press the up or down arrow pads to select a clean time between 2 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours 30 minutes During the last 30 minutes of the self cleaning cycle the oven will start to cool down

20. ing cycle the entire cooktop area may become hot The surface cooking area will glow red when an element is on It will cycle on and off at all settings to maintain the selected heat level Wiping off the cooktop before and after each use will help keep it free from stains and provide the most even heating For more information see Cleaning section m Do cook foods directly the cooktop m Donotallow objects that could melt like plastic or aluminum foil to touch a hot cooktop m Clean up sugary spills and soils as soon as hot surface indicator light goes off If not wiped up while warm surface pitting can occur m Do cook popcorn in prepackaged aluminum containers on the cooktop It could leave aluminum marks that cannot be removed completely m careful when using heavy skillets and large pots Do not store jars or cans above the cooktop Dropping a heavy or hard object on the cooktop could crack it Do not use the cooktop as a cutting board Use cookware about the same size as the surface cooking area Cookware should not extend more than 1 in 2 5 cm outside the area m Make sure the bottoms of pots and pans are clean and dry before using them Residue and water can leave deposits when heated m Lift pots and pans and off the cooktop Sliding them could leave permanent scratches and marks m Use flat bottomed cookware for best heat conduction and energy efficiency Cookware
21. ings Porcelain m See stainless steel or cast iron enamel on steel or cast iron Stainless steel Heats quickly but unevenly A core or base of aluminum or copper on stainless steel provides even heating Aluminum and copper may be used as a core or base in cookware When used as a base it can leave permanent marks on the cooktop or grates TIMER TIMER Clock Display 3 Increase 5 Timer 4 Decrease When power is first supplied to the appliance everything on the display will light up for 5 seconds Then PF will appear on the display Any other time PF appears a power failure occurred Reset the clock See Clock section When the oven is not in use the display will show the time of day This is a 12 hour clock and does not show a m or p m To Set Before setting make sure the oven and Timer are off 1 Press CLOCK The colon will flash during Clock programming 2 Press the up A or down Y arrow pads to set the time of day The time can be changed in either small or 10 minute increments by pressing a pad briefly or by pressing and holding a pad 3 Press CLOCK The colon will stop flashing when the Clock is active The Timer can be set in minutes and seconds or hours and minutes and counts down the set time The Timer does not start or stop the oven To Set 1 Press TIMER The colon will flash during Timer programming 2 Press the u
22. ner bowl To Replace 1 Line up openings in the burner bowl with the coil element receptacle 2 Holding the coil element as level as possible carefully push coil element terminal into the receptacle 3 When the terminal is pushed into the receptacle as far as it will go push down the edge of the coil element opposite the receptacle The lift up cooktop provides easy access for cleaning beneath Be careful not to drop the cooktop Damage could occur to the finish and the cooktop frame For more information see the General Cleaning section To Lift 1 Lift the cooktop by both front corners until the supports lock into place To Replace 1 Lift the cooktop from both sides while pressing the support rods back to unlock them 2 Slowly lower the cooktop into place When canning for long periods alternate the use of surface cooking areas elements or surface burners between batches This allows time for the most recently used areas to cool W Center the canner on the grate or largest surface cooking area or element Canners should not extend more than 1 in 2 5 cm outside the cooking area m Do place canner on two surface cooking areas elements or surface burners at the same time On ceramic glass models only use flat bottomed canners On coil element models the installation of a Canning Unit Kit is recommended If not installed the life of the coil element will be shortened See
