Instructions for grounding require ments SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS PARTS AND FEATURES Control panel Model and serial number label Dryer drum Lint screen Moisture sensor of NS Control Panel CONSERVATOR By CROSLEY PUSH TO START INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Tools needed Check that you have everything necessary for correct installation Proper installation is your responsibility flat bladed screwdriver m safety glasses optional level m duct tape adjustable wrench m caulking gun and compound for installing gloves optional new exhaust vent tin snips new vent installations 1 Remove the tape that holds the drum to the cabinet Move the drum by hand in a counter clockwise direction to make certain all tape has been removed 2 Wipe the interior of the drum thoroughly with a damp cloth before using the dryer Parts supplied Remove parts package from the dryer drum Check that all parts listed were included 1 cycle control timer knob 1 Push to Start button 4 casters 2 cord brackets 2 screws Parts needed Check local codes check existing electrical supply and venting and see Venting Requirements and Electrical Requirements before purchasing parts AWARNING Explosion Hazard Keep flammable materials and vapors such as gasoline away from dryer Place dryer at least 18 inches 46 cm above the floor for a garage installation

5. power cord and the rear panel 4 Insert cord brackets into slotted holes in rear panel and secure with screws provided Optional Put on safety glasses and gloves Before installing the vent system be sure to remove the wire exhaust guard that is located at the exhaust outlet o Install exhaust hood Use caulking compound to seal exterior wall opening around exhaust hood Connect vent to exhaust hood Vent must fit inside exhaust hood Secure vent to exhaust hood with 4 in 10 2 cm clamp Run vent to dryer location Use the straightest path possible See Determine Vent Length Avoid 90 turns Use duct tape to seal all joints 1 2 3 NOTE Power supply cord may be wrapped around the brackets 4 for storage convenience when dryer is not in use Install casters 5 1 Lay the dryer on its side 2 Use the carton to prevent damage to the dryer 1 2 3 Screw casters into dryer base at four corners and tighten securely 4 Set the dryer upright In doing so be careful that the dryer does not roll away from you m Asstated in Location Requirements it is important that the dryer be located on a level surface m Leveling feet Part No 51594200 for use in permanent installations may be purchased See Assistance or Service Using a 4 in 10 2 cm clamp connect vent to exhaust outlet in dryer If connecting to existing vent make sure the vent is clean The dryer vent must fit over
6. the dryer exhaust outlet and inside the exhaust hood Make sure the vent is secured to exhaust hood with a 4 in 10 2 cm clamp Move dryer into final position Do not crush or kink vent Make sure dryer is level 1 Check to be sure all parts are now installed If there is an extra part go back through the steps to see which step was skipped Check to be sure you have all of your tools Dispose of all packaging materials 4 Check the dryer s final location Be sure the vent is not crushed or kinked 5 Check to be sure the dryer is level Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet 7 Remove the blue protective film on the console and any tape remaining on the dryer Read Dryer Use 9 Wipe the dryer drum interior thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any dust 10 Set the dryer on a full heat cycle not the Air cycle for 20 minutes Open the dryer door after five minutes and feel for heat If you do not feel heat turn the dryer off and wait five minutes oO N e gt Then check the following m Controls are set in a running or On position m Start button has been pushed firmly Repeat 5 minute test as outlined above If dryer still does not operate properly check the following m Dryer is plugged into a grounded outlet m Electrical supply is connected m House fuse is intact and tight or circuit breaker has not tripped m Dryer door is closed m If dryer makes an unusual noise

14. he dryer and fabrics m Some towels made of synthetic fibers and natural fibers polyester and cotton blends may shed more lint than other towels causing your dryer s lint screen to fill up faster Be sure to remove lint from the lint screen before and after drying new towels As needed cleaning Laundry detergent and fabric softener residue can build up on the lint screen This buildup can cause longer drying times for your clothes or cause the dryer to stop before your load is completely dry The screen is probably clogged if lint falls off the screen Clean the lint screen with a nylon brush every six months or more frequently if it becomes clogged due to a residue buildup To wash 1 Wet both the lint screen cover and body with hot water 2 Wet anylon brush with hot water and liquid detergent Scrub lint screen cover and body with the brush to remove residue buildup 3 Rinse with hot water 4 Thoroughly dry lint screen body and cover with a clean towel Replace in dryer A WARNING Explosion Hazard Use nonflammable cleaner Failure to do so can result in death explosion or fire To clean dryer drum 1 Make a paste with powdered laundry detergent and very warm water 2 Apply paste to a soft cloth OR Apply a liquid non flammable household cleaner to the stained area and rub with a soft cloth until all excess dye is removed 3 Wipe drum thoroughly with a damp cloth 4 Tumble a load of cle

16. laminated fabrics NOTE If you have questions about drying temperatures for various loads refer to the care label directions 11 CYCLE DESC RIPIIONS PERMANENT PRESS LESS DRY MORE DRY Energy Preferred Automatic Setting OFF Cycle Control knob This automatic cycle shuts off the dryer when the selected dryness is reached The Cycle Control knob does not move until the load is almost dry After the cool down the knob automatically turns to an Off area and tumbling stops Dry most loads using the Energy Preferred Automatic Setting m If the load is drier than you like select a setting closer to Less Dry the next time you dry a similar load m Ifthe load is not as dry as you like complete drying using the Timed Dry cycle The next time you dry a similar load select a setting closer to More Dry NOTE Drying time with an automatic cycle varies according to the type of fabric size of load and temperature setting Use this cycle to complete drying if items are still damp after the automatic cycle Timed Drying is also useful for m Heavyweight items and work clothes that require a long drying time m Lightweight items such as lingerie blouses and knits that require a short drying time For damp dry turn the Cycle Control knob to 30 minutes or less 12 Use this cycle for items that require drying without heat such as rubber plastic and heat sensitive fabrics See the chart for example
