1. man if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded Do not modify the plug provided with the product if it will not fit the outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician Your treadmill like any other type of sophisticated electronic equipment can be seriously damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home s power Voltage surges spikes and noise interference can result from weather conditions or from other appli ances being turned on or off To decrease the pos sibility of your treadmill being damaged always use a surge suppressor with your treadmill see drawing 1 at the right To purchase a surge sup pressor see your local WESLO dealer or call 1 800 806 3651 and order part number 146148 Use only a single outlet surge suppressor that is UL 1449 listed as a transient voltage surge sup pressor TVSS The surge suppressor must have a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules The surge suppressor must be electrically rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps There must be a monitoring light on the surge suppressor to indi cate whether it is functioning properly Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the control system of the treadmill If the control system is damaged the walking belt may change speed or stop unexpect edly which may result in a fall and serious injury This product must b

Breaker 2 Power Cord Cushioned Walking Platform Incline Leg ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed Assembly requires the included allen wrench and your own phillips screwdriver two adjustable wrenches and wire cutters TDI Note The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high performance lubricant During shipping a small amount of lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton This is a normal condition and does not affect treadmill performance If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild non abrasive cleaner UO MM EOE O Extension Leg Screw 53 2 lt M AR Screw 33 6 Handrail Nut 93 2 Handrail Washer 92 2 Rack Washer 41 2 Rack Bolt 89 2 1 With the help of a second person carefully raise the Uprights 11 until the treadmill is in the position shown 2 Insert one of the Extension Legs 34 into the treadmill as shown Note It may be helpful to tip the Uprights 11 in the direction shown by the arrow as you insert the Extension Leg Make sure that the Base Pad 40 is on the indicated side of the Extension Leg Attach the Extension Leg with an Extension Leg Screw 53 Be sure to push on the head of the

5. in Make sure that the power cord is plugged in If the power cord is plugged in unplug it wait for five minutes and then plug it back in Remove the key from the console Reinsert the key fully into the console Check the wire connections under the console see top of page 13 If the treadmill still will not run please call our Customer Service Department toll free The displays of the console do not function properly a b Check the batteries in the console If the batteries need to be replaced see BATTERY INSTALLATION on page 8 Most problems are the result of drained batteries Remove the screws from the hood and carefully re move the hood Locate the Reed Switch 76 and the Magnet 93 on the left side of the Pulley 77 Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch Make sure that there is a gap of about 1 8 between the Magnet and the Reed Switch If neces sary loosen the Small Screw 87 and move the Reed Switch slightly Retighten the Screw Re attach the hood and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a correct speed reading 18 12 PROBLEM The console incline system or treadmill does not function properly SOLUTION a Remove the key and unplug the power cord Check to make sure that the Wires 21 are fully inserted into the two connectors in the Console Base 46 Make sure that the cable tie is secure Connectors PROBLEM The walking belt slows

7. when walked on SOLUTION a Use only a single outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 7 b If the walking belt is overtightened treadmill perfor mance may decrease and the walking belt may be come damaged Remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the allen wrench turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counterclockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Plug in the power cord in sert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes i Rear Roller Adjustment Bolts Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened c If the walking belt still slows when walked on please call our Customer Service Department PROBLEM The walking belt is off center or slips when walked on SOLUTION a If the walking belt is off center first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the allen wrench to turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the bolt counterclockwise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt Plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centered b If the walking belt slips when walked on first remove the key and U

Extension Leg Screw while tightening it Attach the other Extension Leg 34 in the same way Attach the Weight Rack 90 to the Uprights 11 with the two Rack Washers 41 and Rack Bolts 89 Note If nec essary spread the Uprights apart 11 to align the holes in the Weight Rack with the holes in the Upright Insert the Right Handrail 88 into the upper end of the right Upright 11 with the lower end of the Handrail to the side of the Extension Leg 34 as shown Have a second person hold the Right Handrail until step 4 is completed Attach the lower end of the Right Handrail 88 to the Extension Leg 34 with a Handrail Bolt 91 Handrail Washer 92 and Handrail Nut 93 as shown Note It may be necessary to push on the lower end of the Handrail to align the hole in the Handrail with the hole in the Extension Leg Attach the Left Handrail to the left Extension Leg not shown as described above Cut and remove the plastic tie holding the Wires 21 to the right Upright 11 Place the Console Base 46 on the right and left Uprights 11 only the right Upright is shown Route the Wires 21 through the Cable Tie loop Connect the two indicated Wires 21 to the three connectors in the Console Base 46 Important Make sure the Wires are fully inserted The small wire connectors should slide easily and snap into place If they do not turn and try again WARNING Do not disconnect o

NPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the allen wrench turn both rear roller bolts clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walking belt is correctly tight ened you should be able to lift each side of the walk ing belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Plug in the power cord insert the key and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened 13 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES A WARNING before beginning this or any exercise program consult your physician This is especially important for in dividuals over the age of 35 or individuals with pre existing health problems The pulse sensor is not a medical device Various factors including the user s move ment may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The pulse sensor is intended only as an exercise aid in determining heart rate trends in general The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex ercise program For more detailed exercise informa tion obtain a reputable book or consult your physician EXERCISE INTENSITY Whether your goal is to burn fat or to strengthen your cardiovascular system the key to achieving the desired results is to exercise with the proper intensity The proper intensity level can be found by using your heart rate as a guide The chart below shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise HEART RATE TRAINING ZONE MIN BPM

13. closes over the catch Make sure that the storage latch is fully engaged over the catch It may be helpful to press out on the left upright To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight Do not leave the treadmill in the stor age position in temperatures above 85 Fahrenheit 10 HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL Before moving the treadmill convert the treadmill to the stor age position as described above Make sure that the stor age latch is closed fully over the catch 1 Hold the upper ends of the handrails Place one foot on the base as shown 2 Tilt the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the front wheels Carefully move the treadmill to the desired loca tion To reduce the risk of injury use extreme caution while moving the treadmill Do not move the treadmill over an uneven surface 3 Place one foot on the base and carefully lower the tread mill until it is resting in the storage position HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown Using your left thumb press the storage latch and hold it Pivot the treadmill until the frame and foot rail are past the storage latch It may be helpful to press out ward on the left upright Unlatched 2 Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands and lower the treadmill to the floor Do not drop the treadmill frame to the floor To decrease th
14. e Y MAX BPM Aerobic 165 155 AGE Fat Burn Max Burn 145 120 138 40 130 Go 10 125 60 118 C70 95 110 80 90 103 Go 140 125 115 To find the proper heart rate for you first find your age on the left side of the chart ages are rounded off to the nearest ten years Next find the three numbers to the right of your age The three numbers are your training zone The lower two numbers are recom mended heart rates for fat burning the higher number is the recommended heart rate for aerobic exercise Fat Burning To burn fat effectively you must exercise at a relatively low intensity level for a sustained period of time During the first few minutes of exercise your body uses easily accessible carbohydrate calories for energy Only after the first few minutes does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy If your goal is to burn fat adjust the speed and incline of the treadmill until your heart rate is near one of the lower two numbers in your training zone It may also be helpful to set the speed control on the console to FAT BURN to help you main tain the proper intensity level See page 9 Aerobic Exercise If your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular sys tem your exercise must be aerobic Aerobic exercise is activity that requires large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time This increases the demand on the heart
15. e grounded If it should malfunc tion or break down grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of elec tric shock This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug Plug the power cord into a surge suppressor and plug the surge suppressor into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances Important The treadmill is not compatible with GFCl equipped outlets This product is for use on a nominal 120 volt circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug illus trated in drawing 1 below A temporary adapter that looks like the adapter illustrated in drawing 2 may be used to connect the surge suppressor to a 2 pole receptacle as shown in drawing 2 if a properly grounded outlet is not available Grounded Outlet Box Surge Suppressor Grounding Pin i SN Grounding Pin Grounded Outlet Grounding Plug Grounded Outlet Box Surge Suppressor SY Metal Screw The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet drawing 1 can be installed by a qualified electrician The green colored rigid ear lug or the like extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover Whenever the adapter is used it must be held in place by a metal screw Some 2 pole receptacle outlet box covers

19. open the battery cover as shown below Press the batteries into the battery compartment with the negative ends of the batteries touching the Battery Cover e Adjust the speed in small increments The training zones marked beside the speed control are general guidelines only See page 14 for more information e To reduce the possibility of electric shock keep the console dry Avoid spilling liquids on the console Use only a sealable waiter boitle springs Close the battery cover push up on the tab and then push the tab forward as shown Be sure that the tab locks into place STEP BY STEP CONSOLE OPERATION Before operating the console make sure that the power cord is properly plugged in See HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD on page 7 Next step onto the foot rails of the treadmill Find the clip attached to the key see the drawing above and slide the clip onto the waistband of your clothing Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward until the key is pulled from the console If the key is not pulled from the console adjust the position of the clip as needed Follow the steps on page 9 to operate the console 1 Insert the key fully into the console Inserting the key will not turn on the displays The displays will turn on when the ON RESET button is pressed or when the walking belt is started Note If you just installed batteries the displays will be on 2 Reset the console and star
20. r simply wait for about four minutes If the walking belt is stationary and the console buttons are not pressed for four minutes the power will turn off automatically Remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord HOW TO USE THE HAND WEIGHTS To exercise your upper body as you walk on the treadmill hold the 1 lb weights at your sides or press the weights Weight above your head To increase the intensity of your exercise Rack use the 2 lb or 3 lb weights The hand weights can be stored on the weight rack WARNING Do not use the hand weights at speeds faster than a walk Using weights and not holding the handrails may compromise your ability to maintain your balance Exercises using weights should be attempted only by experienced users HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill unplug the power cord Caution You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds 20 kg in order to raise lower or move the treadmill 1 Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right To decrease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight As you raise the treadmill make sure to lift with your legs rather than your back Raise the treadmill about halfway to the vertical position 2 Move your right hand to the position shown and hold the treadmill firmly Raise the treadmill until the storage latch
21. r connect the Wires while the treadmill power cord is plugged in Pull the Cable Tie tight Cut off the end of the Cable Tie Loosely thread four Screws 33 into the Uprights and the Console Base After all four Screws have been started tighten the Screws until they are snug do not over tighten the Screws Attach the Storage Latch 14 to the left Upright 11 with two Screws 33 Be careful not to overtighten the Screws Place the Weights on the Weight Rack 90 with the 3 lbs Weights 79 in the center of the Rack and 2 lbs Weights next followed by the 1 lbs Weights Plastic Tie Connectors Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill Keep the included allen wrench in a secure place The allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt see page 13 To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill 6 OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE a high performance lubricant IMPORTANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking plat form Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD A DANGER Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in an increased risk of electric shock Check with a qualified electrician or service

27. urned See FAT BURNING on page 14 Every few seconds the display will change from one number to the other as shown by the mode arrows This display also shows your pulse when the pulse sensor is used see step 4 The displays can be reset if desired by pressing the ON RESET button Measure your pulse if desired To measure your pulse stand on the Pulse Sensor foot rails and place your thumb on the pulse sensor as shown The pulse sensor is pressure ac tivated fully press it down Do not press too hard or the circu lation in your thumb CALS FAT CALS will be restricted and Pulse Indicator your pulse will not be detected Next raise your thumb slightly until the heart shaped indicator in the pulse display flashes steadily Hold your thumb at this level After a few seconds three dashes will appear in the display and your pulse will be shown Hold your thumb on the sensor for another 15 seconds for the most accurate reading If the displayed pulse appears to be too high or too low or if your pulse is not displayed lift your thumb off the sensor and allow the display to reset Press down again on the sensor as described above Make sure that your thumb is positioned as shown and that you are applying the proper amount of pressure to the pulse sensor Try the sensor several times until you become familiar with it Remember to stand still while measuring your pulse Turn off the power To turn off the powe
