1. 5. acts very similar to the vocal cancel feature but with an added voice activation feature that acts like a vocal auto pilot When you utilize the VOCAL PARTNER feature the lead vocal layer will be removed as long as you are singing into the microphone When you stop singing into the microphone the lead vocal layer will automatically be added back into the music To activate VOCAL PARTNER press button once To remove VOCAL PARTNER press a second time NOTE If you try to utilize this feature while a standard or non multiplex disc is playing it will not work as this feature is designed to work on multiplex format discs only Using the Remote Control When operating the remote control point the top of the remote control toward the GIG MAN PLUS remote sensor on the front panel and ensure that there is a clear line of sight between the remote control and GIG MAN PLUS void of obstacles in order to prevent signal deflection When to replace the batteries The maximum operational distance between the remote control and the sensor is approximately 23 feet If the remote only operates at shorter distances it is time to replace the batteries Installing the batteries To install the batteries first remove the battery compartment lid from the back of the remote control Insert two AAA batteries ensuring that the polarities are aligned correctly AM FM Tuner descriptions Front Panel Ca finer
6. connect a 1 4 instrument cable from the GUITAR s 1 4 output to the GIG MAN PLUS 1 GUITAR input To connect a KEYBOARD connect a 1 4 instrument cable from the KEYBOARD s 1 4 output to the GIG MAN PLUS 1 4 KEYBOARD input Instruments To Mic 2 Input The Balanced XLR Mic Inputs on the Rear Panel Can Be Used Instead of the 1 4 Mic Inputs AC Device Connections The GIG MAN PLUS has an AC power outlet on the rear panel to provide power to a connecting device Please note that a device with a power consumption rating over 200W should not be connected as that exceeds the allowable power feed Doing so may cause serious damage to both devices and may void your warranty 17 Getting connected cont Speaker Connection The GIG MAN PLUS has a set of speaker connectors for connection to external speakers Remember that only speakers with an impedance rating of 8 ohms should be connected To connect speakers first unlock the plastic fasteners on each speaker connector by pushing downward on them Then strip approximately a 1 2 1 27cm of insulation from the speaker wire ends and twist the strands so that they can easily slide through the holes Once a wire is inserted lock them in place with the fasteners by pushing upward on them It is easy to over insert a wire into a speaker connector so that the insulation is inserted as well To ensure this doesn t happen only insert the wires to the poi
7. encoding scheme Although PC terminology uses files and folders regarding MP3s and storage in this manual we refer to them as tracks and albums Notes on Playing MP3s An MP3 track must be recorded on a disc in the format compliant with ISO9660 Track order may differ from MP3 player to MP3 player The maximum allowable number of tracks and or albums located on a disc is 900 including the root albums directory The maximum allowable depth of a nested folder is 127 including files If a disc contains both audio as well as MP3 tracks it will not play in the GIG MAN PLUS Multi session discs are limited to a total of 20 sessions MP3 playback is optimal with MP3s encoded with a sampling rate of 44 1 kHz and a fixed bit rate of 128 Kbps The unit may not play MP3 tracks recorded using a packet writing utility The unit can only play back MP3 tracks having a file extension of mp3 It may take 30 seconds or more before the unit can start playback of VIP3 s This time depends on the number of recorded tracks and the complexity of the album tree If you play a non MP3 track that has the mp3 file extension the unit will skip to the next valid track automatically Digital recordings with this unit cannot be done while playing back MP3 discs Notes on display indications during playback Up to 8 characters are displayed for the name of an album or track Characters other than uppercase letters A to Z numerals

9. white and R red AUDIO INPUT jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS using the AV channel of your choice For VIDEO connect the VIDEO OUTPUT jack on the source player to the yellow VIDEO INPUT jack on the GIG MAN PLUS using the same channel you connected the audio to AV Input To Audio In gt To Audio Out j To Video Out To Video In A V Device Audio Output Connections To connect audio output to external devices there are three available channels AUDIO OUTPUT 1 amp 2 RCA and BAL ANCED AUDIO OUTPUT XLR All three OUTPUTS can be connected simultaneously For AUDIO OUTPUT 1 amp 2 using an RCA type audio cable connect the left and right AUDIO LINE AUX INPUT jacks on the external device to the left and right AUDIO OUTPUT 1 or 2 jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS For BALANCED AUDIO OUTPUT using two XLR type audio cables connect the left and right AUDIO LINE IN jacks on the external device to the left and right BALANCED AUDIO OUTPUT jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS rear panel Audio Output External Amplifier To Audio In POWERED STAGE MONITORS Recording Device Video Output Connections The GIG MAN PLUS has two VIDEO OUTPUT channels with RCA type jacks for connection to TV s or monitor devices To connect VIDEO using an RCA type patch cable connect the VIDEO IN jack of your television or monitor device to either the VIDEO OUT 1 or 2 jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS Both VIDEO OUTPUTS can be connected simultaneously A
10. 3 or PHOTO CD disc press this button to enable PBC control for direct track selection menu support and auto playback REPEAT button Press this button once to have the currently selected track play again repeat after it completes Press REPEAT a second time and the entire disc will be replayed once Press REPEAT a third time to turn REPEAT mode off FREEZE button Press this button to FREEZE the video playback on the current frame without freezing the audio playback 12 Remote control descriptions cont 17 MODE button Press this button to display the first nine tracks information on the video display NOTE This function is only available with VCD media DIGITAL KEY CONTROL button These buttons direct the DIGITAL KEY CONTROLLER Raises the musical key a half step each time it is pressed h Resets the musical key to it s original key b Lowers the musical key a half step each time it is pressed RETURN button Press this button to return to the point on the disc selected with the BOOKMARK feature Press it again to RETURN to normal playback OSD button Press this button to display the DISC PLAYBACK STATUS on the video dis play Pressing this button repeatedly cycles between showing the TRACK TIME REMAINING and TOTAL DISC TIME REMAINING lt lt and gt gt buttons Pressing these buttons during playback causes the GIG MAN PLUS to skip rapidly BACKWARDS or FORWARDS

As REPEAT adjusts the total number of echo intervals prior to fade out the more REPEAT that is applied the more ECHO intervals will occur prior to fade out Turn control clockwise to INCREASE and counter clockwise to DECREASE level Front panel descriptions cont Front Panel DELAY control Use this control to adjust the DELAY setting of the ECHO effect As DELAY adjusts the total begin to end length of each echo interval the more DELAY that is applied the longer each ECHO interval will take to com plete Turn control clockwise to INCREASE and counter clockwise to DECREASE level MUSIC VOL control This control increases decreases the MUSIC VOLUME level Turn clockwise to increase MUSIC VOLUME and counter clockwise to decrease the MUSIC VOLUME PLAY button This button is used to initiate disc PLAYBACK PAUSE button This button is used to PAUSE disc PLAYBACK PREV NEXT buttons These buttons are used to either go back to a PREVIOUS track or advance to the NEXT track on a disc during playback B SCAN F SCAN buttons These buttons are used to SCAN either BACKWARD or FORWARD through tracks on a disc during playback NOTE Using the B SCAN and F SCAN buttons during the playback of a CDG disc while performing Karaoke is not recommended as it will cause the onscreen lyrics to scramble MUTE button Press this button to SILENCE audio playback Press a second time to retur

ER ON OFF BALANCED AUDIO OUTPUT jacks These XLR jacks are for connecting MASTER output to an external device with balanced cables BALANCED MIC 1 2 INPUT XLR These jacks are for connecting microphones via BALANCED XLR type micr ophone cables NOTE Both the XLR and 14 MIC jacks cannot be used simultaneously for any given mic channel AV 1 INPUT jacks These jacks are for connecting AUDIO VIDEO OUTPUT from external AV SOURCES Connect RCA style AV cables R W Y from these jacks to the AV OUTPUT jacks on your external AV devices INTERNAL EXTERNAL SPEAKER selector This selector toggles the GIG MAN PLUS master output to be played through either the BUILT IN speakers or EXTERNAL speakers connected to the EXTERNAL SPEAKER CONNECTORS NOTE You cannot playback from both INTERNAL and EXTERNAL speakers simultaneously 9 EXTERNAL SPEAKER connectors These connectors are for connecting EXTERNAL SPEAKERS to be used for playback instead of the BUILT IN SPEAKERS NOTE Only connect one 8 ohms rated speaker to each speaker connector 10 AC POWER outlet This outlet provides AC POWER to an external device NOTE Do not connect any device with a power consumption level higher than 200W 11 AC IN terminal Connect AC MAIN POWER CORD from the wall outlet to this terminal 12 VIDEO OUT 1 2 jacks RCA These jacks are for connecting the GIG MAN PLUS VIDEO OUTPUT to TV or DISPLAY devices Connect RCA type patch cables fro

Playback Starting Point To select a playback starting point press the GOTO button on the Remote Control Using the 0 9 number keys enter the start point in minutes and seconds format for example 3320 to start playback at 33 minutes and 20 seconds from the start of the disc Playback will start automatically when the last digit is entered Customizing Audio Playback for MPX Media Multiplexed discs are specially recorded so that the vocals can be removed for Karaoke These discs are recorded with the vocals on the right channel only When the right channel is bypassed and the left channel is split to both sides the vocals disappear leaving the music only The AUDIO button on the GIG MAN PLUS front panel and remote control allows you to select through 3 audio playback modes LEFT CHANNEL ONLY RIGHT CHANNEL ONLY AND BOTH STEREO To select press the AUDIO button repeatedly Muting Playback Pressing the MUTE button on the remote control silences the audio during playback of a disc Press the MUTE button again or either of the VOLUME buttons to restore audio playback Displaying the Remaining Time While the disc is playing pressing the OSD button on the remote control will display the disc s playback status Press the OSD button to cycle between TRACK TIME REMAINING and DISC TIME REMAINING Programming a Playback Sequence Press the PROGRAM button to enter PROGRAM mode Using the number buttons 0 10 10 enter the track numbers to be pl

UDIENCE TV To Video In Video Output Getting connected cont Microphone Instrument Input Connection After making your main system connections it is time to get your microphones and instruments connected and ready for performing Before you get started with your connections we recommend that you take the following tips into consideration eWhen connecting instruments refrain from using defective cables as they can cause significant noise and loud pops posing a threat to system speakers e Vhen using effects devices for instruments such as pedals stomp boxes use caution when connecting a chain of multiple effects devices as the output voltage may change and possibly overload the GIG MAN PLUS input channel eWhen connecting a guitar longer cables are recommended to prevent guitar feedback from occurring The GIG MAN PLUS has one guitar 1 4 one keyboard 1 4 and two microphone 1 4 XLR Remember that both the XLR and 1 4 cannot be used simultaneously To connect MICROPHONES via 1 4 mic cables connect the XLR end of the cable into the MICROPHONE until it locks into place and connect the 1 4 plug into either of the MIC 1 or 2 jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS To connect MICROPHONES via XLR mic cables connect the XLR F end of the cable into the MICROPHONE until it locks into place and connect the XLR M end into either of the BALANCED MIC 1 or 2 jacks on the GIG MAN PLUS rear panel To connect a GUITAR

18. ayed Press the PLAY button to begin playback of the programmed sequence Mote Program mode cannot be entered while a disc is playing Repeat Playback To repeat a track scene press REPEAT once To repeat a disc title press REPEAT twice To cancel REPEAT mode either press the PLAY button or cycle through the REPEAT options till REPEAT is turned OFF Repeating a Segment Using the A B Feature The starting point of the LOOP region is immediately commenced after pushing A B Press the A B button again to estab lish the LOOP ending point To cancel the A B loop Press the A B button a third time Note You cannot search and skip tracks while using the A B feature Programmed Playback You can select up to 99 tracks to program The program is maintained until the STOP button is pressed twice or the unit is turned on or off Use the number buttons to select a track Once selected press PROGRAM to enter it into the program Repeat this procedure till you are complete with your program To start playback of a disc press PLAY You can cancel a program by pressing the STOP button twice removing the disc or turning off the unit This function does not work unless you turn PBC on AM FM tuner operations See the AM FM Tuner Controls and Functions section of this manual for locating the buttons Turning on the Radio Make sure that the GIG MAN PLUS power is on Press the INPUT selector button until the TUNER light is on This will turn the
