1. 91 92 TOYOTA TERCEL WITH 1 5L FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE THROTTLE LEVER ADAPTOR PACKAGE 250 4211 1 Remove the throttle shaft nut and lock washer from the throttle shaft Install the Bracket Throttle Lever on the throttle shaft Reinstall the lock washer and hex nut and torque the nut to 60 72 In Lbs 5 6 Ft Lbs See Figure 1 NOTE START NUT BY HAND FIRST TO PREVENT CROSS THREADING DO NOT VERTIGHTEN H ier sail Throttle Body Locking N Bracket Throttle Pulley Assembly Lever Accelerator Washer Cable Bracket Plain 10 Bead Chain Connector Covers Loosen This A ES NutOniy 7 o K E Bead Chain Eyelet 1 8 ot Cable Must Be Exposed Bracket Cable Figure 1 Exploded View 2 Loosen the accelerator cable bracket jam nut Loosen only the nut shown in Figure 1 3 install Bracket Cable between the cable bracket and the jam nut previously loosened Retighten jam nut ensuring that Bracket Cable is held securly in place 4 Remove the Snap in Adaptor from the Cruise Control kit 5 Remove the Adjustable Sleeve from the Cruise Control Module Cable and discard To use the Snap In Adaptor it will be necessary to form threads on the end of the Crulse Control Module Cable This is accomplished by placing the 1 4 20 Nut and Washer Assembly on the end of the Cruise Control Module Cable with your fingers then use a 7 16 box end wrench and turn clockwise until the desired amount of threads have been formed as shown in2. Figure 2 Before Threading Cable 7 16 Box End Wrench 8 9 10 e N 01143 Nut and Washer Assembly Cruise Control Module 1 4 20 Cable z iN 01150 After Threading Cable FIGURE 2 After the threads have been formed thread the Snap in Adaptor onto the Cruise Control Module Cable and snap into the Bracket Cable as shown in Figure 1 NOTE ENSURE THAT AT LEAST 1 8 OF THE CRUISE CONTROL MODULE CABLE IS EXPOSED PAST THE SNAP IN ADAPTOR SEE FIGURE 1 Connect the Bead Chain Eyelet Connector to the Bead Chain with the Bead Chain Connector Cover in piace Install Bead Chain Eyelet Connector with Bead Chain Washer 10 Plain on the Bracket Throttle lever and secure in place with Pin Self Locking as shown in Figure 1 Connect Bead Chain with Bead Chain Connector Double Ended tothe Crulse Control Module Cable with no slack in the Bead Chain and install a Bead Chain Connector Cover as shown in Figure 1 Be sure thatthe throttle is not being held open by the Crulse Control Module Cable Adjust Crulse Control Module Cable by releasing Snap in Adaptor from Bracket Cable and threading in or oe 5 atin iaa Control Module Cable to proper length Snap Snap in Adaptor back into racket Cable Rostra Precision Controls Inc 1991 Printed In the United States of America Form 2433
