SD Play pause button CD MP3 USB SD Cassette loading door 0000o 00000 FITTING BATTERIES 1 Undip the two battery cover latches and remove the battery cover p O 000000000 000000000 2 Fit two C UM2X batteries into the lower battery compartment observing polarity as shown 000000000 000000000 LO a3 Ji QO 3 Fit 4 x C UM2 batteries into the upper battery compartment observing polarity as shown 4 Re fit the battery cover BATTERY OPERATION FITTING BATTERIES Referring to the previous section fit 6 x C UM2 batteries into the battery compartment Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long time to avoid the danger of leakage NOTE Never mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types Batteries should always be replaced as sets BATTERY DISPOSAL Dispose of used batteries with regard to the recycling regulations in your area Do NOT short circuit batteries or throw them into water the general rubbish or ina fire Weak batteries can leak and damage the unit Replace them in good time AC MAINS OPERATION CONNECTING POWER Check that the mains voltage marked on the rating plate on the back panel is the same as the vo
6. ave a combination of the above with some tracks stored in the root directory and some stored in album folders In this case the tracks in the root directory will play first followed by the albums played in sequence NOTE MP3 and WMA files may be mixed within a compilation The player will switch automatically to play these as the format changes SELECTING MP3 WMA OPERATION Move the FUNCTION selector on the left side to select the CD MP3 USB SD position The display on the front panel will light LOADING A MP3 WMA COMPILATION CD ROM MP3 WMA compilation CD ROMs are loaded and unloaded in the same way as CDs Ensure that there is no Flash Media inserted and refer to the section LOADING REMOVING A DISC on the previous page LOADING FLASH MEDIA Loading a USB drive or SD card containing MP3 WMA files Ifa disc is loaded remove it before loading the USB drive SD card Ensure the CD door is closed Insert the USB drive or SD card into the correct slot on the top panel Note that the slots are polarised The unit will read the flash media and the display will briefly show the total number of tracks on the media PLAYBACK CONTROL Playback control is the same for all compilations whether stored on a CD ROM or Flash Media Once a compilation is loaded play will start automatically The MP3 or WMA indicator on the display will indicate the type of music file being played Play pause Press the PLAY PAUSE button to toggle between
7. cator Program indicator Album indicator MP3 WMA only Track album number digits ALBUM LI L OGoVoooWoooo PLAYING A CD SELECTING CD OPERATION Move the FUNCTION selector on the left side to select the CD MP3 USB SD position The display on the front panel will light LOADING REMOVING A DISC Before loading a disc for the first time Lift the CD door to open the CD loading bay and remove any transit packing that may be fitted to protect the CD player in shipping Loadinga CD Remove any USB or SD card media that is inserted Lift the CD door to open the CD loading bay Holding the disc by the edges place the disc on the turntable in the centre of the CD loading bay with the label uppermost Press the centre of the disc into place on the turntable with a click Gently close the CD door The unit will read the disc and briefly display the total number of tracks on the disc before commencing play automatically Removing a disc Ensure that the disc is stopped Lift the CD door to open the CD loading bay Holding the disc by the edges lift the disc off the turntable and place it back in the case Gently close the CD door PLAYBACK CONTROL Play pause Press the PLAY PAUSE button to toggle between play and pause mode during playback Stopping playback Press the STOP button during playback Playback will stop The total number of tracks will be displayed Selecting tracks Press the SKIP or SKIP

9. ltage in your area Plug the AC power cord into the AC inlet Plug the mains plug into the wall socket and switch the mains power on POWER CONTROL FUNCTION The power control switch is combined with the function selector located on the left side of the unit To turn the radio on Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the RADIO position To play CD MP3 USB SD Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the CD MP3 USB SD position To turn the cassette player on Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the TAPE OFF position The power will switch on automatically when a cassette function key is pressed To turn the unit off Slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR to the TAPE OFF position Check that the cassette player is set to STOP LISTENING TO FM RADIO To listen to FM radio Fully extend the telescopic aerial at the back of the unit Move the FUNCTION selector on the left side to select the RADIO position Move the BAND selector on the top panel to the FM ST FM stereo position Turn the TUNING control to select the station you want the FM frequency scale is the outer scale marked in MHz Fine adjust the tuning so that the station plays clearly If you can hear a lot of background noise when playing the station the signal may be weak You may be able to improve the signal strength by adjusting the position of the telescopic aerial or moving the radio to a different position If this doesn t help and the noise persist

11. or it to read Play will begin automatically Press the STOP button to stop playback programming is only possible when stopped Press the MODE button The display will show the PROG symbol and P01 flashing the position of this track in the program i MP3 PROG S A ID n 1 10 1 If you are playing a MP3 WMA compilation of albums you can optionally change the album number to program by pressing the ALBUM button repeatedly skip this step if you are programming a CD MP3 PROG ALBUM 006 Select the track number you want to program by pressing the SKIP or SKIP button To save this track into the program sequence press the MODE button The display will show 02 flashing indicating that you are now entering the second track in the program sequence Repeat the previous two steps three steps ifyou want to change album until you have stored all the tracks in the program sequence Playing the program Press the PLAY PAUSE button to start the program playing The PROG symbol will remain on and the program will begin to play Selecting tracks You can navigate through the tracks stored in the program by pressing the SKIP or SKIP button Clearing the program Press the STOP button twice The PROG symbol will switch off PLAYING AND RECORDING CASSETTE TAPES You can play cassette tapes in the cassette player You can also record on cassettes from the CD or radio Three types of cassette ta
12. pes are generally available Normal IEC 1 Chrome IEC Il and Metal IEC IV The cassette player will play all three types but Normal cassettes are recommended for recordings Loading a cassette Press the STOP EJ key to open the cassette door Place a cassette tape into the loading door with the exposed tape facing upwards and the side you want to play facing towards you Close the cassette loading door gently Removing a cassette If a cassette is playing press the STOP EJ key to stop playback Press the STOP EJ key to open the cassette door Lift the cassette out of the loading door Close the cassette loading door gently Playing a cassette Move the FUNCTION slide switch on the left side to select the TAPE OFF position Load a cassette tape Press the PLAY key The tape will begin to play The player will switch off automatically when the tape has finished playing Pausing a cassette during play Press the PAUSE key The key will latch down and playback will pause To re start tape playback press the PAUSE key again Fast forward and reverse Press the F FWD or RWD key to move quickly forwards or backwards to a different position on the cassette tape Press the STOP EJ key to cancel fast forward or reverse NOTE The automatic shut off feature will not operate for fast forward or reverse functions Always wait by the unit when using these functions and switch off manually if the end of the cassette is reached The uni
