Chapter 5 Additional Information VIDEO AUDIO OUT DIGITAL AUDIO OUT COAXIAL lOPTICAL The Back of the DVD Player When connecting make sure you connect Output jacks to Input jacks Video to Video Right Audio to Right Audio etc A description of each jack Pea follows Description of Jacks AUDIO OUT Insert audio cables left white and right red to the AUDIO R and L jacks on your DVD Player and to the corresponding Audio Input jacks left and right on your TV or receiver VIDEO OUT If you are using color coded red yellow and white RCA cables connect the yellow video cable to this jack and to the Video Input jack on your TV DIGITAL AUDIO OUT COAXIAL type connector You can connect a compatible audio receiver to this jack Some receivers have either the COAXIAL or OPTICAL type of Digital Audio Input jack and some have both Under most conditions optical and coaxial connections work equally well the only difference is the type of cable you connect to the jack Rarely but sometimes coaxial cables especially long ones pick up radio frequency RF interference from household appliances nearby power lines and or broadcast towers If you want to use a less expensive cable connect a coaxial cable to the COAXIAL jack if your receiver has a COAXIAL input jack S VIDEO OUT If your TV has an S VIDEO jack connect an S Video cable to the DVD Player s S VIDEO jack and to the TV s S Video jack to ach

Note The player defaults to Standard Playback whenever you put a new CD into the DVD player Program The tracks play in the order you designate To use the Program Play mode you must set up the order in which you want the tracks to play in the DVD Player s main menu system go to page 33 for instructions The Program Play Mode is only available after you set up a program Graphics contained within this publication are for representation only Your unit might differ slightly 25 P 15909540 FINAL 7 25 02 8 11 AM Page 26 as 7 Chapter 3 Playing Discs Audio CDs Using the Repeat Feature By default Repeat feature is Off There are three Repeat options e Disc repeats the title that is playing e Track repeats the chapter that is playing e A B repeats a segment of the disc that you select Repeating Discs or Tracks 1 While a disc is playing press INFO the Info Display appears 2 Press the right arrow button until the Repeat icon is highlighted 3 Press the up or down arrow button to scroll through the different Repeat options repeat disc repeat track repeat AB and repeat off the modes will appear at the bottom of the Info Display b 4 To turn off the Repeat feature press the up or down arrow button repeatedly until Repeat Mode Off appears AB Repeat AB Repeat lets you define a specific segment on the disc that you want to repeat For example you might want to listen to the
