LIGNE 2 G D H Before you start Open the LIGNE 2 G D jacks cover on the front panel and connect a playback source Turn on the TV and set it to the video channel Insert a source tape into your stereo system or the playback VCR Search for the point to start playback and set it to playback pause 2 Insert a prerecorded tape with its safety tab in place into this recording VCR Search for the start of the section to be replaced and press Ill pause The VCR enters pause mode 3 Press DOUBLAGE SON The programme position changes to L2 and the S indicator appears in the display window To start editing press the I pause buttons on this VCR and the stereo system or other VCR at the same time After you use this feature the audio in playback mode is automatically set to monaural To stop editing Press W stop on this VCR and the stereo system or other VCR To listen to both the hi fi and normal audio Set MIX AUDIO to OUI in the OPTIONS 1 menu see page 90 Use this feature to listen to dubbed audio over the original hi fi audio When MIX AUDIO is set to OUI the CHOIX SON button does not function Remember to reset MIX AUDIO to NON after playing the tape Note e If you eject the tape or turn the VCR off MIX AUDIO is automatically set to NON Audio dubbing Additional Information eer SS eee Troubleshooting If you have any questions or problems not covered below please consult

SORTIE ACCES SMART 4 Press ACCES SMART The ACCES SMART screen disappears Note e You cannot use or return the deleted information About the Demonstration Mode The Acc s Smart Plus function has a Demonstration Mode that allows the user such as a salesperson to automatically display the Acc s Smart Plus screens To activate the Demonstration Mode While the VCR is turned on press and hold the both W stop and amp eject buttons on the VCR for a few seconds The demonstration will start and the four kinds of Acc s Smart Plus screens will be displayed repeatedly If you operate the VCR the Demonstration Mode temporarily stops After about five minutes the demonstration will restart To cancel the Demonstration Mode While the VCR is turned off press and hold the both W stop and amp eject buttons on the VCR for a few seconds You can also cancel the Demonstration Mode if you turn the power off and unplug the mains lead Storing searching and deleting programme information Acc s Smart Plus suonesedo jeuolppy i 85 Searching using the index function The VCR automatically marks the tape with an index signal at the point where each recording begins Use these signals as references to find a specific recording 1 Insert an indexed tape into the VCR 2 Press k lt gt gt i RECHER INDEX e To search ahead press PPA RECHER INDEX INDEX RECHERCHE To search backwards press Kd RECHE

Tuning your TV to the VCR 5 CHANE Press CHAINE repeatedly to select the appropriate TV system t for your area Select L for the L TV system SECAM or G for the B G TV system PAL eQ Y g a 6 Tune the TV to the same channel shown in the VCR display window so that the picture on the right appears MAGNETOSCOPE SONY clearly on the TV screen Refer to your TV manual for TV tuning instructions If you select the wrong TV system in step 5 the picture on the right may not appear Select the appropriate TV system and tune the TV again If the picture does not appear clearly see To obtain a clear picture from the VCR below 7 REGLAGE Press REGL CANAL AUTO You have now tuned your TV to the VCR Whenever you want to play a tape set the TV to the video channel REGL CANAL To check to see if the TV tuning is correct Set the TV to the video channel and press CHAINE on the VCR If the TV screen changes to a different programme each time you press CHAINE the TV tuning is correct To obtain a clear picture from the VCR If the screen does not appear clearly in step 6 above go to step 7 to finish this procedure once Then start again from step 2 After pressing REGL CANAL in step 2 press CHAINE while the RF channel is displayed so that another RF channel appears Then tune the TV to the new RF channel so that a clear picture appears continued
