21. e a hard pause has been inserted into a phone number will be marked by H A timed pause will be indicated by T and a link will be indicated by L 4 After a hard or timed pause enter the additional numbers such as a credit card number and save the entry as you would any other entry 5 After inserting a link enter the number of the memory location that you want to attach Sending touch tone signals from the phone book You can also use your phone to send touch tone signals also called DTMF signals to access electronic services Simply put this means you can store a series of numbers such as a personal identification number to have at your fingertips whenever you need it 1 First store the series of numbers as a phone book entry 2 When you re on a call and need to send the numbers just find the phone book entry 3 Press the dial to display the Options menu 4 Turn the dial to select Send Tones then press the dial The numbers will automatically be transmitted in a burst Keep in mind that this option can only be used during a call To enter and send numbers one by one during a call use the number buttons To change the length of the send tones transmission see key beep length on page 45 39 Inserting a hyphen You can insert a hyphen into a phone number manually or you can program your phone to insert them automatically see page 55 Hyphens are used for appearance only th
22. e automated voicemail system will tell you how to proceed For more information on your voicemail see page 42 26 Internal phone book and Calls List Your Sprint PCS Phone includes two types of phone books the internal phone book and the Calls List All the basic features and functions of your phone book are described below See page 35 for instructions on how to use your Calls List Understanding your phone s intemal phone book Your Sprint PCS Phone has 98 phone book memory locations that is 98 places to store phone numbers with names Each phone number can include up to 32 digits and each name can have up to 12 characters Saving and storing a phone number When adding numbers to your internal phone book keep in mind that location 1 is reserved for your voicemail box Memory locations 2 through 9 should be reserved for your most commonly used phone numbers To save numbers simply follow the directions below 27 1 Enter the phone number you want to save We suggest that you save numbers using 10 digits area code number so you can dial them from your phone book while traveling outside your Sprint PCS Home Service Area 2 Press the dial to access the Options menu 3 The screen will then display Find Number Talk and Save Turn the dial until the arrow points to Save then press the dial 4 Next enter a name to go with the number To enter a letter press the number ke
