B T L W be i IS Gil Il VIDEO AUDIO INPUT VIDEO INPUT ANALOG e mame System Connections Connecting to TV with SCART Connector Regional Option For some countries like Europe the unit incorporates the A V SCART OUTPUT connector You can connect the unit to TV easily using the SCART connections without other cumbersome audio and video connections During operation of the unit this connector can deliver either the composite regular video or RGB video signals Note In this connection do not connect the unit to the TV through a VCR Otherwise the image may be disturbed due to the copy protection function TV This unit AV SCART OUT SCART IN Connecting to A V Amplifier or Receiver To enjoy the sound advantage of the DVD Player Although you can reproduce the DVD Player s sound from the TV speakers with the connections on pages 14 connecting with an amplifier provides you high quality dynamic sounds To reproduce Dolby Digital surround and DTS surround sound you need to connect to an amplifier with a Dolby Digital and DTS decoder respectively E Digital connection If your amplifier has a digital input jack be sure to connect it to either DIGITAL OUTPUT OPTICAL or COAXIAL jack on the DVD player Note In the Digital Out setting you can select whether the VD 4502 will output the

The disc indicator does not light up for CDs that contain JPEG images For the other information that appears in the display see page 10 If the DVD Player is in standby mode when Play Pause Il is pressed the DVD Player turns on and playback starts In this case it takes several seconds until playback starts Tip to obtain a higher quality picture Occasionally some picture noise not usually visible during a normal broadcast may appear on the TV screen while playing a DVD Video because the high resolution pictures on these discs include a lot of information While the amount of noise depends on the TV you use you should generally adjust the TV to reduce sharpness when viewing DVD Videos E To stop playback Press Stop B When you press Play Pause b I to restart playback playback starts from the location where you stopped playback because the location index is stored in memory For MPS WMA JPEG playback see page 19 Notes The location where playback resumes may vary depending on the disc or the scene where you stopped Press Stop lil again after stopping playback to clear the location index memory then press Play Pause Il to start playback E To remove the disc Press Open Close A to open the disc tray Remove the disc after the disc tray opens completely After removing the disc be sure to press the button again to close the tray CAUTION Keep your fingers well clear of the disc tray as it is closin
